Macros for Photo
tersmuse replied to tersmuse's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I'm sorry, this isn't working. There is no possibility to save a macro only with the image- or selection width. When recording a macro, I change the image width, the image height would also changes proportinally and is recorded in the macro. This is problematic because photos exist in different ratios, 3:2, 4:3, etc. So, you will not get a proportional result with other than the recorded ratio. Therefore you need to be able to edit macros, e.g. to remove the height. My macros has no Settings, so I can't edit anything. Tools which I really miss in Photo: Rectangular Selection Tool presets: Normal, Fixed Ratio, Fixed Size (like the Crop Tool). That will make the work of web designers much easier. We constantly have to create identical image formats for projects, hero images, gallery photos, photos, etc. which are repeated hundreds of times. The Crop Tool allows to specify width and height, why not the selection tool? Web isn't desktop publishing, we don't have a picture frame in which we can place pictures. We have exact sizes. -
Question 1: I need a macro for the image width of photos, the height should grow proportionally. I can't handle this. Question 2: I need macros for frames (Rectangular Selection Tool) in certain sizes, e.g. 500 x 600 px. I don't mean the picture size just the selection frame. Question 3: In Photoshop it is possible to modify and edit actions. For example, I could delete the image height for question 1. I can't find a way in Photo, did I overlook anything?

I would like to buy Affinity Programs to a friend. Can I buy programs for a friend, enter his email address, and pay with my credit card? Can it be done without his knowing? Because of his e-mail address. Why? It's a present ;)

why the detour via the export window?
tersmuse replied to tersmuse's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
Habit is a wild animal. I wish I could save other file formats under save as too. I hope I understand this double (for me) unusual approach sometime ;) Just an idea: Maybe it would be possible to overwrite the 'save as' function with 'Export'? -
As a Photoshop changer I still have problems with the cumbersome save / export detour after one year. Why does AP only save its own format? If I open and edit a JPG, TIF or similar, I want to save it in the same format again. I don't think I'll ever get used to having to do the whole thing every time through the huge Export window. This is absurd and time consuming, why so cumbersome? So why can't I save a file (without layers) the way I opened it? Please change that!

Anyone who develops logos knows, how long it takes to generate and export logo packages. I found a great plugin, but the provider only offers an Illustrator version. Logo Package Express Is there anything similar for AD?

I imported an AI calendar. The days in it have been centered in the original. After the import all texts are left aligned. Changing all data individually is time-consuming. Is it possible to determine during the import that the texts keep their alignment? If NO, how can I quickly change hundreds of texts from left to center alignment?

In Designer there's an item "Area: Whole Document" for exporting. The point is always inactive, no matter what choice I make. So what's this for? I have an idea: For PDF export "objects" would be great, then you would have placed e.g. with the import in QuarkXPress marginal, Objects 0, 0 - without canvas :)

Sadly, not at all I understand the logic of the alignment. Is there one? At first I thought: The first selected object remains, the second is aligned to it. But it doesn't. So I did it in reverse, but it didn't work either. If you select horizontal alignment, both objects will move somewhere, but not towards each other. Mmhhh, maybe they'll align by the page? But no, not even that. The objects are moved randomly somewhere. I've been working on it for several projects, I haven't even been able to get objects to align logically. I'm not a newbie, I'm a professional and have worked with graphics Apps for 25 years. So give a grandpa a tip, please complete! Explain me in detail how aligning in AD works? I'm still thinking on: The front object is aligned with the rear object, mmhhh, no has not worked. The rear one to the front one, also no. Page reference? Perhaps you need to adjust some basic settings, but why, as long as I only want to align two objects. Looking forward to an introduction, with many objects aligned with the calculator in the past ;)
