  1. I understand what you mean. Well, in that case, I support that request!! This should work differently because it would save lots of time. I appreciate your kind help and the time you devoted to explaining all this. 🥇
  2. When you create a new document, you go to File => New=> and choose a preset from the drop-down menu. Right? If the layout menu of a document preset includes a box for clicking "create artboard", it is because there is the option of creating an artboard from that preset. You start a new document from it and it says "Artboard 1" at the top. There is no other difference from starting a new document from a preset without that tick except for the "Artboard 1" at the top. I honestly don't find the gain in that. It is supposed that the tick will allow you to create artboards, not simply docs. Your saved presets are not even showing in the dropdown menu for new artboards. Not only those created by you but any other original preset (A4, A3, letter, etc). You can only choose devices, even when you are working in a Print or Press Ready document.
  3. When you create a new preset you have the option of indicating if those characteristics can be used as an artboard. This is an image taken from the New (doc) tab when creating a new preset. It works only when you create one artboard from scratch, but not when you want to add a new artboard to an existing document. Why not? Besides, when I add an A4 artboard to another A4 artboard in the same doc., it does not include the same characteristics of the original preset (margins, bleed, etc.). It should, if it is the original preset. Again, I understand that there are workarounds, but presets are supposed to help us save time, and this is not working that way. Don't misunderstand me. I really appreciate your help! I'm just asking. As a Beta tester, I have to! 😊
  4. I would agree with you that this could be a good workaround. But why should we use a workaround when from the beginning and in the help document we are told that we can create our own Presets (that are added at the end of the original list of New (documents)? And there is even a box where you can indicate if you may create artboards from them. The problem is that when you already created a new document from your own preset and want to add a new artboard, it only duplicates the original one, and all the options to resize your new artboard are grayed out and the only way to resize it is by dragging. At least, that is how it is working in my case now. The new artboard does not show any of the characteristics saved in the preset (margins, bleed, etc.), not even those of the 1st artboard that generated the document. If the Help document says you can create artboards from your own presets and you cannot, then it is a bug. Not something we wish it would be... If I start a document as a Print doc, then why those options are not included in the Doc Size menu and others for different devices are? It makes no sense to me. This is not something to be added as a new resource, but something to be reviewed.
  5. I created several document presets for specific document sizes I use often. All of them are set to "Create Artboard". When I go to File-New- I can see my list of personalized presets and select the one I want to work with. An artboard opens correctly. However, when I want to add a new artboard, I click on the New Artboard Tool and all I can add is the same size of artboard as the one already open. The dropdown menu under Artboard: Size: Document shows neither my presets nor any Print or Press Ready options, but all the others instead. I attempted changing the size in the Document Setup corresponding to the new Artboard, but the Page Preset is grayed and set to "Custom", so I cannot change the selection. The Dimensions sections are also grayed in the mentioned popup menu and the Transform menu as well. I wonder... Isn't there a place where I can select the size of a new artboard when adding a new one? If I have to manually insert its dimensions when it is a frequent size I use, it´s a waste of time. I should be able to access these presets from places other than the New Document. I have attempted the same steps both in AD 2.3.1 and also in 2.4.0.2222 (BETA), but the result is the same. I would appreciate any comment leading to solving this issue. 6. Hi, Alfred. I came across your comment above while searching for something else. I simply wanted to let you know that we in Uruguay do not speak Portuguese. We speak Spanish. It is true that we can understand Portuguese quite well, as it has many similarities with Spanish. In a conversation we can easily catch what they are talking about. Same is the case of Italian. But the official language of Uruguay is Spanish. Just that... Best regards from Montevideo!
  7. Hello, Flavio. I had the same problems you described. Just found this workaround in the forum. Click in the link below to see the image with is more eloquent. I hope this will solve your issue, as it helped many of us. Good luck!!!
  8. Thank you all for your patience, time and dedication to solving this issue!! All 3 applications are working perfectly! I have not found any issue by now. Best regards. Stay safe!
  9. I've tried as suggested, but without any success. I too was thinking this could be related to the fonts, since the start up window says "loading fonts..." and immediately after that the black windows opens and closes all of a sudden. I too use a font manager, but I checked the Control Panel/Fonts and it says I have 396 items. LAST MINUTE COMMENT... I went back to the previous version of all 3 apps and they are running fine now. However, APublisher was showing the same behavior as the other 2 had in the last version. Only after running Troubleshoot Compatibility it stopped crashing.
  10. Same problem here. Both with AD and A Photo. APublisher is running fine. By the way, I´m in Windows 10. I had the same issue with the previous version, in both apps. But I was able to solve it by going to Troubleshoot Compatibility and trying Recommended Settings, test opening the app and saving those settings. This worked perfectly for both apps. However, this time -after updating to 1.8.0- this same workaround did not worked out. In the case of APublisher I had to go through the process described above, because at the beginning it did not start either. But it did in the end. I´ve tried everything I could think of without any success and I'm drowning in pending work. Any suggestion you can provide??
  11. I had the same issue a few days ago. Neither A. Design nor A. Photo could be opened. they both crashed right before opening. None of the suggestions I found here worked. Believe me! I tried them all! Finally, after reinstalling both and restarting my PC, I did the following and both worked! Go to the program file location (not the shortcut), right click on it and in the menu select "Troubleshoot compatibility". Let the process run until you see a new pop-up. Choose "Try recommended settings" and "Test the Program" (the program will open without any problem). Do not close the program and go back to the pop-up. Click Next and choose " Yes, save these settings for this program". Close the pop-up. Just let me know, should you need further help. 😉
