  1. Thanks. Didn’t know that that (Books) thing is there. Will definitely look more into it later. For those that want to try out the Apply Master method shown above, it appears to be working but you will have to manually connect the flow of the text (based on my limited understanding of Publisher), which isn’t that much of a hassle. For the Master Page without the logo, you will have to connect the flow for that Master Page (Left text frame to right text frame). Later when you autoflow via Shift + Click, Publisher will create the necessary pages with the correct Master, but all the text frame are empty without texts. That’s when I have to manually connect them and I only have to connect once per spread. For my case this small inconvenience isn’t a problem.
  2. Thanks for the walk through video. I’ll give that apply master a try and will experiment with it to see how it goes. I can imagine that that will definitely work in the majority of cases. I used the logo as a quick example but I’m actually working on religious texts that can go beyond 1000+ pages. The start of a new chapter has a unique design, and there’s no way to tell ahead of time how many pages it will take up before a new chapter begins, meaning there will be autoflow. I’ll come back later to give an update.
  3. Don’t know how to title this one or communicate a problem but I’ll try my best. 1. Let’s say I have a Master Page (facing - Left and Right). The Left side has a logo or something unique, let’s say top-left. 2. I create only ONE page and want to use only the left side of the Master Page because sometimes the information for the page I’m working on is less and only one page is needed. Then I start another page, and here I encounter a problem… Instead of using the Master Page’s Left with the logo, it continues with the Right without the logo. That’s problem #1. 3. Here’s the second problem. If the information is extremely long, it will take up both the Left and Right side of the Master Page which is expected, but then on the third page, it starts all over again and will use the Master Page’s Left side with the logo instead of the Master Page’s Right without the logo. Is this possible with master page or is there a totally different way to achieve this? I have been learning Affinity Publisher and couldn’t find something this specific.
  4. I have tried but can’t seem to figure out how to apply it only to the numbers. Instead it turned everything (text and number) into superscript when I applied the style. I’m not sure if this is even possible to do. Doing it manually by applying the style to all the number is not an option. Having let’s say 20+ verses and 10+ chapters, it’s too tedious to do it even just once. To be able to target groups of digits and style them separately would be great.
  5. I have searched for it on the web and couldn’t find any article talking about it. So I’m wondering if anyone here know of a creative way to work with superscript. Is there a quicker way to, let’s say change the font, color or size of the superscript all at once? In case you’re wondering how this can be helpful: Those designing stuff that deal with manuscripts/scriptures that have a lot of verse numbers. More advanced features would be hiding the superscript via toggling on/off. If that’s not possible, what about targeting just the NUMBERS and ignore the regular texts and beautify these instead?
  6. I started out with Windows, and switched to macOS, and now looking to switch to Linux for life. Haven't switch yet, but preparing and making plans to. I really like macOS but I have a feeling they will go evil in the future, so I’m jumping ship. Blender and Krita, two big apps for me and Linux supports it. Only Affinity is missing. Was hoping that I could use it via Wine or Crossover, but from what I'm reading on here it doesn't work. Right now I got all three Affinity apps for macOS, but looks like I will have to get the Windows versions for 2.0 when it’s out and dual boot it. OR keep my macbook and use it for Affinity. Tough choice...
  7. I can hold down spacebar and drag my canvas around, no matter what tool I'm using. Why can't this be done on Brush, Swatch or even a Layer panel? Shouldn't the app detect what panel the tablet pen is on when spacebar is pressed? That way I can easily scroll up / down without having to switch to my mouse just to pick a swatch or a brush preset that is out of view. Any solution without having to put down my pen and then pick up my mouse and then putting it down and pick up the pen?
  8. It looks like this 1.9 has problems with keyboard shortcuts. With Designer: Shortcut doesn't take effect when switching to Pixel Persona. I would have to reload my saved shortcuts ever time I start designer. The default Persona works fine. A similar problem also occurs with Photo. In Develop Persona, my custom shortcuts doesn’t work, no matter how many times I set or load it, it simply won't take effect.
  9. For those that might be interested. I think this is something the developers should take into consideration: http://polycount.com/discussion/77043/wacom-pressure-curves-suck http://www.davidrevoy.com/article182/calibrating-wacom-stylus-pressure-on-krita
  10. Interesting. Looks like I might have to upgrade to an "Intuos PRO" later on (?). Currently I'm using the standard ($99 range) and the latest "WacomTablet_6.3.29-6" driver only give me this.
  11. Krita has a built-in Curve that allows you to manipulate the pressure. Very useful if you don’t want to press hard on your tablet (for those on the low end). Is there anyway to achieve this for Affinity, either within the program itself (like how Krita does it) or Wacom setting somewhere on the system? I’m using Wacom Intuos (low end kind) and this setting is very helpful.
  12. If you're on Mac, check out Art Text by Belight Software. https://www.belightsoft.com/art-text/ They have for Windows but Mac version is far ahead at the moment. I rarely do 3d texts but when I need it for a poster, I make one in Art Text, and since it’s 3D, it doesn't get pixelated when you copy the image and paste it on Affinity. For general 3d stuff, I recommend that you pick up Blender. There are plenty of tutorials online and if you're only interested in making mockup stuff, then just learn basic modeling and rendering. No need to get into advanced stuff with Blender/3D. At the moment, there are more important features that designers need such as text wrap/distortion etc...
  13. Thanks. Looks like there’s no way to preview custom LUTs at the moment.
  14. If my memory is correct, I remember there being a way to quickly preview the LUTs without having to load it one by one? I find it tedious to have to manually load each new LUT just to see which one I like. I hope there’s a way to quickly preview these LUTs like how we do it with layer blending mode.
