hallo,
I have a problem creating a macro
I need to set a series of pictures at 300 DPI, so I proceed by registering these commands:document - resize document
set 300 DPI (with "resample" option disabled)when I use the macro I often end up with the document size changing, where am I going wrong?
Thank you! -

hi guys I see a problem with the latest version on windows 11: the buttons and menu items often disappear and I find them only by passing over them by heart with the mouse.

@Paolo192 If you want to upload the document here I'll attempt to export it from my end. It would help if you could embed the resources or ensure you also upload all the linked resources
I see your message now.
thank you, you are very kind and I appreciate your gesture, but there are too many files to run on the internet... I hope you can go on with your work and complete the software, I will always support you, you deserve it! -
thanks
however, working in these conditions is not possible
the program continues to crash
now the 300 pages in pdf will have to export them in at least 10 parts
I will also have the problem of page numbering
then I will have to join the pdfs
no, this software is not yet ready, sorry! -
when i try to export my job in a PDF file Publisher always crashes.
I understand it's 300 pages, with a lot of pictures, but I don't know what to do!
I tried to export only 100 pages to PDF, deleting another 200, but even so it stops! How is it possible?

Do you have an alternative software, or can you consider purchasing one? If not, I think you should be able to do the job in parts. It is a bit of a pain (you probably also need to combine the table of contents, etc.), but IMO Publisher can handle well and reliably enough these kinds of medium-size but structurally simple jobs containing mixed content. Just remember to make backup copies often enough!
you're very kind, thank you!
I want to continue trusting Affinity, they are good and they deserve trust, hopefully they will continue to improve these software.

following your suggestions, I divided my work. I saved the first 70 pages in one file, deleting the rest and saving it in another file. I was able to save them without problems, at least these, finally.
Now I have two separate files for the same book, and I don't know how many more I will have to do until the end.
Now, apart from the inconvenience of having split files of the same job, I no longer know how much I can trust Publisher for my projects. It is a BIG problem that I cannot underestimate. I am perplexed, and I hope that some Affinity technician can help me. -

But before doing anything, can you describe the kind of publication you have, and how large is it?
a book, 300 pages, with several hundred images that I linked to the outside (the original file).
the problem is that I'm only on page 70 ...

Everything, includng fonts, seems to count as an open file, and there seems to be a limit of number of files that can be simultaneously open.
maybe you're right, I deleted 200 of my 300 expected pages, and I saved in another file, without problems.
if this is so it is absurd! I hope some Affinity technician can tell if this is true. -

If you still can open it, first make a backup copy (or two),
You mean, just copying the file?

I come from Indesign, which has a very convenient function to collect all the photo files of a publication. I can't find it on Affinity Publisher, where is it located? Thanks!

Thank you
I have canceled and installed the program again, and now it seems to be working fine! -
hello
I have big problems with your latest version of Photo (Windows). Today at least 20 times it crashed by moving the layers. Never happened before. Any suggestions on how to fix this? thank you! -

Hi Paolo192,
Welcome to Affinity Forums
Check if you have Enable Force Pixel Alignment depressed (enabled) in the main toolbar (the icon on the left in the magnet icon group). If not enable it. Also make sure the other icon/button immediately on the right of the Force Pixel Alignment is disabled (Move By Whole Pixels). The. the operations you were performing again. Does the image now keep its sharpness?first of all thank you for your kindness, I'm really glad I chose Affinity!
I tried with these settings, but the difference between the two options seems to me very limited ... I repeat, maybe I'm wrong, but my impression is that with Photoshop these operations resulted in a minor deterioration of the image. -

Not at all, it will make a difference to the type of layer. You should have (Pixel) after the layer name. Are you re--sizing up or down? What algorithm are you using (nearest neighbour, bicubic or Lanczos)?
John
yes, the base level is "pixel".
I make small changes in size and perspective, sometimes UP sometimes DOWN.which resampling system is the best? I usually work with "lanczos"...
-
no, I simply open the file, and then work from its base level. am I wrong to do so?
-
thank you
I copy and paste a part of the image into a new layer, then I process the latter by moving it and changing it slightly.
maybe it's just my impression, but I think that with Photoshop these operations can be done with less loss of quality.
little blue border... how to hide?

it's so strange ... I can confirm that they were picture frames. i solved by copying and pasting others, from other master pages without this problem.
who knows which option was activated.
