Assets always on first category on startup
-
Hi! I love the assets functionality in Affinity Designer, pretty much one of my favorite feature, as i am reusing loads of logos, symbols and other graphics. I've made several categories with sub-categories for myself already and as such i have a tiny gripe: The asset palette will always switch to the first category in the list on startup. Is there a chance to have AD remember what category was open when closed? My workaround atm is calling my most used category something like "AAA my category" to have it first in list, but that's a little clunky, isn't it? best Oliver Edit: Apparently it remembers sub-categories, but not categories? That's a little puzzeling.

Brush orientation locked to view rotation in Photo?

clawjelly started following Zuschneidewerkzeug , Brush orientation locked to view rotation in Photo? , I don't understand group masking. and 1 other

I need to do some painting work in Affinity Photo and i'm working on a Wacom Cintiq, so i often rotate the view at times to accomodate my hand turn direction. Apparently the brush orientation is fixed to the view rotation, which doesn't feel like it makes a lot of sense to me. Even worse: It means that when for example i rotate the canvas 90°, the resize shortcuts (ctrl-alt-mouse) are rotated aswell. Instead of resizing the brush by moving the mouse up and down, now it's left and right...?! Is that supposed to work like that, because it doesn't feel very intuitive. Is there an option to deactivate that? If so, i haven't found that option.

I don't understand group masking.

So, i want to create a group mask. I followed this tutorial and it worked. Now i tried it again on my own and i have done something wrong. The upper group works as expected, the lower one masks the whole image, not just the curve adjustments. I see there is a little stop sign icon next to it and i tried to find info what that means, but the manual about masking isn't saying much about that. How would i fix the lower group to work like the upper group?

As a almost 30-year-image-editor I'm not easy when it comes to being impressed, but this is a sweet look! First time needing Affinity Photo batch job and watching it being processed parallel on all my CPU cores is simply... Awesome! I really ❤️ this sincerely! This just saved my ass today Thanks so much.

Affinity Photo v2 .exe file location

Connecting Shapes, when shape has more than one curve?

clawjelly changed their profile photo

It's 2 shapes with 3 curves in it. I joined the two circle parts first via the "Add"-button: resulting in something like this: This is just a simplified example of a more complex piece i am working on, so don't get hung up on this case. It's more a question for my workflow, as this would mean i'm not allowed to join shapes unless i really want to join them into one single curve.
-
Here the example: I'm trying to join two open shapes. The red shape has two curves, one open, one closed. The green one only has one curve. I assumed it would find the open curve and join it to the other shape's open curve. Seems if a shape has more than one curve, joining isn't working properly anymore. Am i missing something?
