  1. Thanks, Miguel. I couldn't find this on the roadmap, so perhaps you could move this thread to the Feature Requests forum.
  2. The free trial of Affinity Draw or Affinity Photo on OS X lasts for ten days. Affinity Designer on Windows is currently in public beta, so it will be free until the release version is ready.
  3. I am unable to find a command to make all selected objects the same size. Did I miss it, or is this still on the 'To Do' list?
  4. You can use the 'Power Duplicate' feature to replicate an object (or to transform multiple copies of it).
  5. Thank you both. I was actually aware of the Alt-click option in AD, but I had forgotten about it! I guess I just need to get into the habit of using it unless I'm sure I want to use the destructive combine option. (There might be an argument for setting the non-destructive command as the default, since by definition you can always reverse that decision later on, but I don't suppose the default behaviour is likely to be changed now.)
  6. Typing the whole word in LibreOffice sounds like overkill, Ken. Personally I would just type the é in the Windows 'Run' box, but I don't suppose it makes much difference if you already have LO running anyway. I use the TypeIt app, so this issue doesn't really affect me, but I'm looking forward to seeing it fixed all the same.
  7. I was surprised that it doesn't do this by default, but there should at least be an option for it.
  8. I wasn't expecting 'Divide' to break apart my combined object. Like you, Chris, I expected 'Divide' to be greyed out after I combined the objects: it wasn't, but clicking on it had no effect. I had actually used 'Combine' rather than 'Add', but trying the latter now I see that 'Divide' still isn't greyed out. However, the main point of this thread is that (unlike DrawPlus) 'Combine' doesn't change to 'Break Apart' so that you can get back to the individual shapes that make up the polycurve.
  9. If I combine two overlapping shapes, there is no obvious way to break them apart again. All of the Geometry options become greyed out, apart from 'Divide'; the latter doesn't seem to do anything in this scenario.
  10. The Rounded Rectangle doesn't combine or divide correctly when it's on the left-hand side of the other object. It doesn't seem to matter which object is on top. Rounded-Rectangle_Combine.afdesign
  11. Is that what we get with the Quick Cube in DrawPlus? If so, it's less than ideal anyway, unless you aren't bothered about the absence of perspective.
  12. If you want to delete the part of the first object which is overlapped by the second one, choose Layer ▸ Geometry ▸ Subtract. If you only want to delete the overlapping part, leaving the remainder of the two objects in place, choose Layer ▸ Geometry ▸ Combine.
  13. In the top right-hand corner of each posted message there's a post number (e.g. '#17') and a Share icon. Right-click either of these and choose 'Copy Link Location' or 'Copy shortcut' (or whatever your browser calls it). You can then use that URL in conjunction with the Link button on the toolbar, or simply paste the URL into your message. I believe this is the thread to which you refer.
  14. Thanks, Ken. Too easy! Come to think of it, I must have used that method when I did it in CraftArtist recently, since CA2 also doesn't have a Blend Tool. :o
  15. No, Reset Rotation doesn't reset the rotation of the selected object, but I've just discovered why! Rotate Left and Rotate Right rotate the page, and Reset Rotation unrotates it.
  16. If only one drawing is reopened, I would expect it to be the last one rather than the first (since that's what the option says).
  17. The entire %AppData%\Serif folder?? That's a bit drastic, isn't it, Mark? I would have thought that deleting the Affinity Designer subfolder, and perhaps also the Affinity Common subfolder, would suffice.
  18. That's very odd, Arun! I'm also using Windows 8.1, and I have an Affinity Designer folder in %AppData%\Serif.
  19. It sounds as though your photo (JPEG?) files are set to open by default in Affinity Photo Beta. You can change the default via the dialog which is accessed via 'File > Get Info' (or Cmd+I). In the 'Open with:' section, select Affinity Photo from the list and press the 'Change All...' button.
  20. The main toolbar below the menu bar has icons for three personas: Draw, Pixel, and Export. If you can't see the toolbar, press Ctrl+Alt+T (or go to the View menu and choose 'Show Toolbar'). Edit: You can also use keyboard shortcuts to switch between personas: Alt+R Draw Persona Alt+P Pixel Persona Alt+E Export Persona
  21. Confirmed here. When I chose the 'PDF (for print)' preset and pressed 'More...' in the Export Settings dialog, a further dialog popped up confirming that the Embed fonts setting was 'All Fonts', but I still got curves for each font in my test document (a mixture of Frame Text and Artistic Text, using Arial, Courier New and Trebuchet MS).
  22. I completely agree. I have to set my laptop screen to exactly the correct angle if I'm to have any hope of seeing which tool is currently highlighted (or perhaps that should be 'lowlighted'). It would be great to have the simple 'Invert' option that Julian23 suggested earlier in this thread.
