    Amazon.com is offering the book for US$49.99 plus $7.48 for shipping to Canada, or a total of US$57.47. At today's poor exchange rate this is CA$77, which is just $5 less than the total of CA$82 quoted above.

    As I posted to the other thread, I also expected Ctrl+rotate (and Alt+rotate) to create a copy. This seems logical to me, and consistent with the behaviour of Ctrl+drag. I know that Affinity Designer is not Serif DrawPlus, but Ctrl+rotate in DP behaves as we expect, so its programmers obviously agreed with us!

    The Cat Tool appears on the same flyout as the Triangle Tool and other shape tools, but only if you hold down the correct modifier key when clicking on the tiny white triangle to expand the flyout. :ph34r:

    I'm a Windows user, so I've only been using Affinity since the launch of the AD on Windows beta, but I'm a little surprised no one mentioned two years ago that you can drag panels out of the Studio and put them anywhere on the screen.

    Good question, dominik! I also expected Ctrl+rotate to create a copy, and I can confirm that it doesn't. The same applies, of course, to Alt+rotate.

    Can Clip Studio Paint use Procreate brushes, or have I misunderstood? (I've only recently acquired a copy of CSP, so I'm not very familiar with it yet.)

    I'm not Thai either, Sean, but I can see a marked (sorry!) difference between the marks above the leftmost two characters. In the Arial Unicode MS sample, the mark on the right-hand one is much too high up and it's slightly offset to the right. In the Tahoma sample, the left-hand one has two marks superimposed instead of one above the other.

    I can't see Serif wanting to distribute a PDF version, since it would be easily pirated. I think the resource files are really only meant to be downloaded by those of us who own a copy of the book. There are already enough clues in this thread for anyone to find them!

    Paolo the Brushes Wizard does it again! Mozilla Firefox decided to play silly tricks with the PayPal and Gumroad windows, but I got there in the end. I'm looking forward to trying them out very soon. :)

    They aren't sticking to the menu bar, they're sticking to the top of the screen. (I originally thought they were sticking to the top of the application window, but that was only because I had the window maximized.) I don't get those panel groups sitting on top of any other applications that I open in front of AD.

    It's probably a question of how the top and bottom pairs of nodes are lined up (or not). Although it may work well in specific cases, I can see that it's likely to be a bit fiddly in general. It would obviously be best if the underlying issue were fixed.

    Another option is to drag the panel groups out of the Studio. Click and drag on the grab bar (that looks like an audio/video 'Pause' control) in the top left-hand corner of the group to make it float, and then double-click anywhere in the floating group's title bar to collapse it. Once your panel groups are floating you can put them anywhere you like, and if you dock two or more side by side you can move the leftmost one and the others will move with it.

    Perhaps I'm missing something here, but I think you can get the desired result simply by aligning the two copies so that they butt up against each other, and then clicking the 'Add' button on the Geometry toolbar.

    Thanks! I haven't had a chance to have a proper look at it yet, but I'm sure I'll have fun with it when I do!! I hope you aren't kept waiting too terribly much longer. I got a dispatch email yesterday, but it was sent so late at night that they might as well not have bothered. I hope they fix the "pending" thing soon, too; I've just checked my account once more, and the order status still hasn't changed.

    I think that was a very early "sneak peek". With Affinity Photo on Windows still to come, and Affinity Publisher to follow, I'd be very surprised if the Affinity Photo on iPad beta test is less than several months away.

    Holding down the Shift key will only keep the nodes aligned (horizontally, vertically or at 45 degrees). ;) As 'manroe' says, you need to switch to Line Mode if you want to be sure of getting straight lines between those nodes. :)

    I didn't purchase my copy until 8 o'clock yesterday morning here in the UK, and when I checked my account 24 hours later the order status was showing as 'Pending', so I was pleasantly surprised when it was delivered shortly after midday today. It's now more than an hour later, but the order status is still showing as 'Pending'.
