  1. I can't get negative values with the 'Curvature' handle at low zoom unless the cogwheel is very large, but the positive side of the range seems to work fine. I was surprised to find that the zero point is about a third of the way along the track, instead of halfway.
  2. LOL, Miguel! I won't tell anyone if you don't.... ^_^
  3. I prefer version 1! The pixel dimensions of the new version are still the same, and you've only saved about 400 KB on the size of the attached file.
  4. It already goes from Ctrl+4 to Ctrl+8 with nothing in between. ;) As for Ctrl+3, that could have been 300% or 33.33%. Thanks. I hadn't thought of this being covered in the Workbook! LOL. :D
  5. PNG can have as many colours as JPEG, but it also offers an alpha channel supporting variable transparency. GIF only supports indexed transparency (i.e. one of the colours in the palette is nominated as the 'transparent' colour, so transparency is either fully on or fully off). GIF is also only 8 bits per pixel, so you have a maximum of 256 colours including the 'transparent' colour. In most cases, PNG files are smaller (typically up to 25% smaller) than their GIF equivalents.
  6. Much the simplest way is to draw one half, flip a copy of it, overlap the two copies slightly and then do a Boolean 'Add'. I'm not quite sure what you mean, Mark. Perhaps you could expand your description a little.
  7. It's like a standard 12" square scrapbook page saved at 300dpi, so it's hardly surprising that it opens so big! ;) I don't know how you ended up with such a huge file size, though, if you really did save it at a quality setting of only 50%.
  8. Why are you trying to run beta version 1.5.0 when you already have MAS version 1.5.1? Or did you mean that you're trying to run the 1.5.2 beta?
  9. You can do it with a texture bitmap set to 'Overlay' blend mode, as in the attached example (created in AD on Windows 1.5 beta, so you'll need version 1.5.x to open it). Distressed_Clock.afdesign
  10. If you are on a PC, you can't buy either app yet ;) but Affinity Designer is available as a (free) beta version. The Pixel Persona in Designer has a Selection Brush Tool. :)
  11. Welcome to the Affinity Forums, tuan. :) Which Affinity product are you using, and on what platform (Mac or Windows for Designer, and OS X or macOS version for Photo)? As an anti-spam measure, attachments are disabled for the first few posts by a new member. Make another post or two and then try again. When you have browsed to the file that you want to attach, you need to press the 'Attach This File' button.
  12. When I tried to zoom in to 400% in my drawing just now, I was surprised to find that Ctrl+4 gave me a zoom level of 800% instead of the 400% that I expected. Using Ctrl+3 for 400% seems very unintuitive! We already have defaults of Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+2 for zoom levels of 100% and 200%. Wouldn't it be better to have defaults of Ctrl+4 and Ctrl+8 for zoom levels of 400% and 800%?
  13. I'm one of those! My copy was delivered shortly after midday on October 25th (i.e. four days ago) but I've just logged in to my account and found that the order status is still showing as 'Pending'.
  14. GIF options are very limited. Wouldn't it be better to use PNG instead?
  15. I thought you already knew that, Brian. I must have been thinking of something else: I wonder what it was!
  16. There's one for each of the five illustration projects and four design projects, but there's also one for the Core Skills chapter.
  17. PagePlus does it too, of course, and although it does sound horrendous I also think it works quite well. :)
