  1. It means what it says: the EMF filetype is disallowed. For any disallowed filetype, add the file to a *.zip or *.rar archive and then attach the archive.
  2. It doesn't cope well with fonts whose names begin with a lowercase letter. If I press D it goes to the beginning of the list of fonts beginning with D, and if I pause and then press C it goes back to the beginning of the list of fonts beginning with C; doing the same with B has a similar outcome, but if I do the same again with A it goes forward to 'akaPosse' (after the Z fonts) instead of going back to the main block of A fonts. Pressing A a second time has no effect.
  3. I have PhotoZoom Pro 6 and I'm favourably impressed with it. I've attached the result of enlarging your avatar to 400% of its original size using the 'Photo - Regular' preset in PhotoZoom; I can't see how to achieve a comparable result in Affinity Photo.
  4. In my part of the UK, math (or maths, as it is usually but inexplicably abbreviated in British English) 16-bit has the same amount of colour information as it does in the US, but it occurs to me that I should maybe have redressed the balance by referring to "the U.K." and "the US" in the above. (Just a bit of fun, since I would normally write either U.K./U.S. or UK/US, rather than mixing the two.) ;)
  5. I use a Logitech Trackman Marble trackball, a USB device which has four configurable buttons but no scroll ring or wheel.
  6. A ratio of 11 to 8 is probably the highest 'likes' to 'posts' ratio (or at least one of the highest 'likes' to 'posts' ratios) of anyone posting only to the general forums, but there are a few very talented forum members who post almost exclusively to the 'Share Your Work' forum and earn lots of 'likes' from those of us who admire the results of their great abilities, thus giving them a considerably higher ratio than 11:8.
  7. Possible, but unlikely, given that Mike is located somewhere north and west of you. :)
  8. Does that mean the problem MEB referred to in the other thread (i.e. inability to run the trials on 10.7.x or 10.8.x) has now been fixed?
  9. Why would you realize, Brian? It's one of the silliest smiley shortcuts out there: a similar problem persists on CommunityPlus, where '8)' is treated the same way, so anyone typing parenthetical remarks such as "(on Windows 8)" or "(using DrawPlus X8)" gets the same undesirable outcome. Since we already have shortcuts like  and  it would make sense to use  for the sunglasses.
  10. Does the new build work on all supported versions of OS X and macOS, including Lion and Mountain Lion?
  11. Copy the text from the line below. There's a zero-width space between the 'B' and the ')', preventing it from being interpreted as a smiley shortcut. B)
  12. No, Eduardo: not a promotion but a 'promotion'. In this particular context, those quotation marks are very important! ;)
  13. I think most of us could live with that! I would personally find it preferable to the status quo, where I can't use the right and left mouse buttons simultaneously unless I have my trackball plugged in to my laptop.
  14. Those surprises are so-o-o much harder to deal with than the expected ones, aren't they!! :P
  15. As discussed in this thread, you might also like to take a look at FastStone Image Viewer and/or IrfanView.
  16. The main problem with the search function is the lack of alternative keywords, which means that you have to know the right term to use in your search. A prime example that comes up quite often is "skew": the Help refers to it as "shear", and the term "skew" isn't linked to it, so if you type skew into the Help search box the only result you get is about 2.5D parallel projections.
  17. No, I was really only recommending it for its scanner support. It doesn't do cataloguing as such, but it does have some useful thumbnail options.
  18. There are so many posts here every day that some are bound to get overlooked, especially since there is no way to filter the list of posts by number of replies. If your question goes unanswered for more than a day or two, post to the thread again to 'bump' it to the top of the list. Edit: I've just done a quick search. Of all the threads you've created in the past year, this thread is the only one that has not yet had any replies.
  19. You just need to hide all the layers that you don't want to export. Select all of the layers except the one that you want to export, click on any of the selected objects' visibility checkboxes to hide all of the selected layers, and then export the whole document.
  20. It's worth noting that FastStone Image Viewer is only free for personal use. That should be fine for an amateur (whether or not he's in exile in the Slovak Republic!) but a single lifetime licence for commercial use costs US$34.95. A cheaper solution for external scanner support would be IrfanView, for which a commercial licence costs only 10 euros.
  21. It would be great to have gradients which can follow any path, but (given that the developers already have their work cut out to include all the features in the current roadmap) I don't expect to see this in 1.x.
