Close, but no cigar! That gives you the desired texture in place of the black, but the white remains white. If you want the white to turn transparent, go to the Layers panel, select the B&W image and apply the ‘Erase White Paper’ filter. Now drag the texture layer upwards and drop it on the black/transparent thumbnail layer. (There is no need to set the layer blend mode to ‘Screen’ for this method.)

I have to confess that it isn’t my rendering! I got it (and ‘αℓƒяє∂‘) from here. Please note my caveat about potentially inconveniencing other users who want to tag you in their posts.

Thanks, Јэииіfэѓ. I’m afraid I succumbed to pressure to make it easier to ’tag’ me in forum posts, which essentially means sticking to Latin characters for at least the first half of my username. It’s too soon for me to change my display name again, but I might consider restoring the ‘яє∂‘ version of the second half at the next opportunity.

I wasn’t finding fault, I was asking a question! I’m in awe of what you’ve achieved with fonts like Lekhana, and for all I knew you might have been planning to add different ornaments to substitute for ‘longs’ and its ligatures in a future update. Thank you for the link to the discussion on precedence of OT features.

But it isn’t, and that’s the problem! If you draw two vertical lines side by side and apply perspective projection so that the tops of the lines look as though they’re further away from the viewer, the lines change from being parallel to converging towards the top (like a road going straight ahead into the distance). Exactly the same happens to a circle: it becomes more pointed at the top, unlike a true ellipse where the top half is an exact mirror of the bottom half.

The resemblance has been noted in an earlier thread: For what it’s worth, I agree with those who think the differences outweigh the similarities.

Isn’t the toolbar flyout quick enough for you, Gary? One of the features I particularly like in DrawPlus is the ability to select a QuickShape (a parametric shape like the ones created with the Shape Tools in the Affinity apps) and swap it with another one via the Context toolbar. For example, you might start out with a star but subsequently decide that you want the extra flexibility of a cog; in DP you can replace it in a couple of clicks, but in AD you have to draw a new shape, resize and position it appropriately, and delete the original.

Something (womthing?) tells me Rick bashed out that sentence just a little too quickly!

I haven’t checked but I’m pretty sure that we can only use *.otf, *.ttf and *.ttc font files, not *.eot, *.svg or *.woff. -

What do you see when you go to ‘Settings > General’, scroll down the list on the right and tap on ‘Profiles’? -

If it really has worked, you should see one or more new configuration profiles under ‘Profiles’ in the Settings app. -
blob brush and live paint
Alfred replied to krazybov's topic in Feedback for Affinity Designer V1 on Desktop
The published roadmap is for version 1. Anything on that list should be provided in a free update, but any other suggested features could be added in a paid-for upgrade (i.e. version 2, 3, 4, etc) if it fits in with Serif’s plans for the app.- 4 replies
