Using clone tool
Alfred replied to vpkumar's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
LOL. Some people don’t seem too keen to acknowledge that they can only say why they don’t want something, not why you don’t! I can’t say I’ve given much thought to source paths for cloning, but I’d certainly like to be able to circumscribe a source area for inpainting. The current algorithm often picks up source pixels that I don’t want to use. -
Affinity Designer on iPad has become unusable
Alfred replied to Bluerose's topic in V1 Bugs found on iPads
Thanks for the clarification! For whatever it’s worth, I’ve never liked relying on autosave in any software product: if it kicks in on schedule, it often does so at the most inconvenient moment. Doing a manual ‘Save’ or ‘Save As…’ is much better. It gives you complete control over resaving the project, meaning that you can choose if and how to save after any major changes (regardless of whether that’s after 3 minutes or 30). -
Affinity Designer on iPad has become unusable
Alfred replied to Bluerose's topic in V1 Bugs found on iPads
The default autosave value is 300, not 30. It’s clearly 300 seconds, or five minutes: 300 minutes (i.e. five hours) would be much too long to be of any practical use! The ‘Autosave Interval’ control can be found under ‘Preferences > General’. -

Blurry (nested) linked Affinity Designer documents

Most of the moderators seem to allow private messaging, so you can usually use that route to ask off-topic questions. -
Cropping 360 photos
Alfred replied to Cgreene's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Cgreene. It sounds as though you’re asking whether you can crop a photo so that it isn’t cropped automatically when you upload it to Facebook. Are you merely trying to preserve the aspect ratio, or am I missing something here? -
As you may have seen from my sig, I’m using iPadOS 15.5 on an iPad Air 2. So I doubt that I’m in a position to help.

Which model of iPad Air do you have, and which version of iPadOS are you on?

If you look closely at the Context toolbar you’ll see that Opacity is set to only 10%. You probably pressed the 1 (one) key at some point. It might be easier to use the Clone Tool in a case like this.

Affinity products for Linux
Alfred replied to a topic in Feedback for the V1 Affinity Suite of Products
There are currently eight products, not three, and there will be nine when Affinity Publisher on iPad is released. -
If you’re not sure whether it’s a bug, it’s best to post in the Questions section instead of the Bugs section. You might be trying to work outside of a small pixel selection that you can’t see. Press Cmd+D on Mac or Ctrl+D on Windows to deselect, and then try again. Make sure that Hardness, Opacity, and Flow are all set at or close to 100%. Also make sure that ‘Protect Alpha’ is switched off so that you aren’t prevented from painting on transparent areas.
