  1. A laudably inclusive idea, William, but it would probably make the logo too ‘busy’ (especially at smaller sizes).
  2. I wouldn’t have known it was a plug! Three pins is indeed appropriate, but pins on a modern 13A plug don’t have rounded ends. The pins are also too near the edges of the base. Perhaps you could try combining the two halves of the base to create a single thicker shape, or you could even dispense with the white outline altogether.
  3. It would have been easier to see what you’re doing if you had done that before making your video recording. It’s also generally quite helpful to have ‘Show touches’ turned on in the app preferences, so that we can see where you’re tapping on the screen.
  4. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Bevan. The Affinity Suite is cross-platform, but AppleScript is not. We’re much more likely to see JavaScript, or perhaps Python or Lua.
  5. I know that the term “albedo” relates to reflected light, but I don’t understand what you’re asking for here. Was that a typo? Did you mean to write “from [the] illumination factor”?
  6. The chain brush is one of a collection of image brushes that were supplied with the app. If you don’t see the Image category in the installed brushes in the Designer (vector) persona, you can add them by importing the *.afbrushes file attached to this post. 7. Isn’t that what you’re trying to find out? It seems to me that it might be helpful for you to know if it’s just you or whether, for example, your photos also look oversaturated or too contrasty on my iPad Air 2.
  8. Which particular shortcuts don’t work for you, and what is your operating system?
  9. The Digital Signatures tab contains a signature list with one or more ‘Name of signer’ entries. Left-clicking on one of those entries will cause the ‘Details’ button at the bottom of the dialog to become enabled, and pressing that button will trigger a signature check. When that check is completed you’ll see a message telling you whether or not the signature is OK, and if it isn’t then you’ll need to fetch a fresh download.
  10. Yes. I simply mean that the release of the new version won’t make the old one stop functioning. I don’t think any of us would want to pay again if that’s all we’re going to get!
  11. Yes. If the iPad version works like the desktop version, the current version won’t ever expire (so the 2.0 upgrade will be optional) but I can’t see Serif fixing any remaining bugs in version 1 after version 2 is released.
  12. I’d be surprised if it isn’t offered to everyone! If you’re asking whether it’s going to be offered for free, that will depend on whether it’s version 1.11 or 2.0.
  13. CraftArtist 2 offers four types of colour picker, one of which is the Gradient Sampler. http://dl.serif.com/pdfs/craftartist2.pdf#page206
  14. It’s worth noting that IrfanView is only free for non-commercial (i.e. personal or educational) use. However, the licence fee was just ten euros the last time I checked.
  15. You’re very welcome! That’s because you’re also separating the teardrop shape that forms the hole or ‘counter’ in the loop. Select the filled loop and the teardrop and use the ‘Subtract’ button in the Geometry section of the toolbar to restore the hole.
  16. That’s also available on Windows, but since there’s no Cmd key it uses the Ctrl key as a modifier. However, the base box for a regular hexagon is square (so it only touches the top and bottom vertices, not the left and right sides).
  17. In that case, use the ‘Separate Curves’ command to make the dot or accent a separate object, and then move it down (either via the Transform panel or by using the Move Tool).
  18. The base box for a parametric shape such as a polygon needs to allow for adjustments to the parameters. All polygons will meet the top of the base box, but hexagons won’t meet the sides.
  19. If you’re trying to do this then there’s no need to move any nodes. You can simply add a thin rectangle to bridge the gap:
  20. Affinity Photo is an alternative to Photoshop, but I don’t think Serif claims that it’s equal to or better than Photoshop (or even Photoshop Elements). What kind of sports or “gameday” graphics do you want to create?
  21. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @phyce. The subject has been discussed here on numerous occasions. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=webp&sortby=newest
  22. I think we can be pretty sure that it’s there because someone at Serif forgot to remove it!
  23. I don’t think any contributors to this thread have been banned, but Serif’s decision was very clearly a political decision.
  24. ^^^ This. ^^^ Many users will keep their Affinity apps running, usually with one or more documents open. In order for ‘Paste’ to work like ‘New Document From Clipboard’, those users would need to close all open documents first.
