Uncheck the ‘Contiguous’ option in the Context toolbar. (You can also use ‘Add’ mode to add to the selection that you’ve already made.)
-
No, the two versions should happily coexist.

Or people who use non-staandard glyphs in their Member Title.
John
Never mind the Member Title! You may recall that I went through a phase of calling myself ‘αℓƒяє∂’ on here.

@Joe_1, but your dropped characters are lower case, not dropped caps.
That was my immediate reaction, too!

What about Œ, as in Œdipus Rex?

I believe so, this is why I asked the poster to add a suggestion to the feedback area of the forum.

Thanks, Lee. It might help if I could read!

it is not broken, just a choice between two methods
I think the problem is that it’s the developer who makes that choice, not the user. Couldn’t we have a Preferences setting for this, so that those of us who are happy with the current implementation could continue to use it, but there would be an alternative for those like @CM0 who want it to work differently?

So what happens if you edit a symbol, will it change symbols in another document on open or do they become independent and only relate to that document?
I don’t see how they could change in other documents.

Symbols are document specific.
You can save them as assets, can’t you?

Essentially they are feature identical, barring some minor OS things, such as the fact that Apple RAW is available on Macs.
What about sandboxing? My understanding is that the MAS version of Affinity Photo doesn’t play well with some Photoshop-compatible plugins.

LeoMoon ParsiNegar is another freeware option.

Excuse my ignorance but how would I check if it's being converted to curves?
If it hasn’t been converted to curves you’ll be able to select and copy the text in your PDF viewer. In Publisher, make sure you haven’t applied any filter effects such as a drop shadow, and review the settings displayed when you click on the ‘More…’ button in the Export dialog.

From the official website .. why?
Where you can download it depends on where you bought it. In your case, since you purchased from the Affinity Store you can simply choose the appropriate one of the following links:

Welcome back to the Serif Affinity Forums, Paul.
Check that the text isn’t being converted to curves on export. That’s a common reason for ballooning PDF file sizes.

This would just make sense for Designer as I see no need in Photo for it. But the measurement tool could be so much more useful this way.
You and I may have no need for it in Photo, but it could be useful to some people! If it’s created as an editable object, it will be easy to hide or delete it (or set a general preference for it not to appear) where it’s unwanted.

I’ve never seen such a popup, as far as I’m aware. Does it always appear for you?

The one in DrawPlus makes a vector fill from a part of an imported bitmap image.
Doesn’t the one in DrawPlus simply make a vector shape based on the colour boundaries in the bitmap image? Unless I’m misremembering, it doesn’t actually create a fill based on that image.

I don’t seem them in my Affinity Store account, so maybe I need to (re)apply.
That fixed it! 👍

I don't remember. I know that I got emails for all 3. But they were also listed in my Account as soon as I clicked the button to apply for the Beta, and I see that it's also possible to generate the invitation there. At https://affinity.store/account/downloads the 2.1 beta applications are listed, and clicking on the App Store link for the iPad apps seems to generate an invitation immediately.
Thanks, Walt. I don’t seem them in my Affinity Store account, so maybe I need to (re)apply.

Or, perhaps you just need to wait a bit.
When did you get info about the iPad betas, Walt? I own all three apps, but TestFlight currently only shows me the 2.1.0 customer beta for APub.
