  1. Depending on the PDF compatibility level chosen, setting either dimension to more than 200 inches may be asking for trouble.
  2. It needs an option for used-created presets, but it also needs more preset presets to begin with!
  3. Adjusting only the bottom (or the top) is probably quite a common requirement. There should be an easier way than playing with the handles.
  4. There is no need to use Affinity Photo for this. You can apply a Recolour adjustment directly in Affinity Publisher. Affinity Publisher Help: Recolour adjustment
  5. Those arrows look great! The text looks as though a smaller font size has been used in lieu of proper small capital glyphs in the original font size, resulting in the regular capital letters and the ampersand looking bolder than the ‘small caps’ text, but that’s only a minor quibble.
  6. Start by drawing the left-hand half or the right-hand half. Duplicate the shape, flip the duplicate horizontally, and then align the two copies so that they sit side by side. Select both shapes and use the Boolean ‘Add’ command to create a single shape.
  7. Further contributions to an ongoing discussion in an existing thread seems more likely to result in Serif doing something. Going over old ground in yet another new thread will simply dilute the discussion and make it more difficult for everyone (including Serif staff) to review the points raised so far.

  9. Moderators can delete posts, but ordinary users can only hide them. However, your question and your own answer to that question may help other users, so leaving both in place may prove useful to someone else in the future. If you really want to make a post disappear from general view — so that only moderators can see it — click on the ellipsis (‘…’) in the top right-hand corner of your posted message and look for a ‘Hide’ option.
  10. Create a new document at the desired print size, and then place your photo in that document. After you resize and/or reposition the placed image, only the part that is visible on the canvas will be output when you print or export.
  11. If you can’t use the MSIX version on your system, download and run the EXE installer via the link on the following page: https://store.serif.com/update/windows/photo/2
  12. Bilinear generally works well for reducing the Pixel dimensions of an image. For enlarging, try bicubic or Lanczos3: with the latter, the ‘non-separable’ option will give you a sharper result, but you may find that it’s too sharp (in which case the ‘separable’ option is the one to choose).
  13. Thanks for the clarification. I think I’d better leave this one to the Mac users!
  14. Do you have a particular reason for not upgrading your macOS Ventura installation from 13.3 to 13.4? Did you intend to type “I can’t open them” or do you mean you can open the apps but you can’t do anything further with them?
  15. Is your old laptop completely unusable? If so, you won’t be able to install a fresh copy of MoviePlus unless you have a note of the product key, and even if you can reinstall the product you won’t have access to previously unlocked codecs.
  16. If you purchased the Mac App Store version, log in to the MAS (using the same Apple ID as you used for the original purchase) and go to the ‘Purchased’ tab where you should find a download link or button. If you purchased from the Affinity Store, log in to your Affinity Store account and visit the ‘Downloads & Product Keys’ section to reinstate your Photo version 1 installation.
  17. Please post in German if you feel that your English is not good enough to allow you to express yourself clearly. There are many German speakers among the regular visitors to these forums.
  18. The splash screen in a Serif legacy application remains visible until dismissed by the user.
  19. What’s weird is that Serif has suddenly decided to hide information that used to be more readily accessible. Build numbers are shown on the splash screens for all of Serif’s legacy ‘Plus’ applications.
  20. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Thicketworks, and thanks for sharing. Wow, indeed!
  21. The most recent version of Windows 10 Enterprise edition seems to be version 21H2, build number 19044 (latest revision date 2023-05-09). https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/release-information
  22. You could use the Pencil Tool in ‘Sculpt’ mode, but in general using the Node Tool is the better option.
  23. Very odd. Does ‘Split Curve After Node’ work for you? Which iPad model do you have?
