Hue and saturation - this is just one example for the inconsequent improvement. Very single software - even 3D softwares - call it Hus and Saturation - because it is. You call it Recolour. Why?
HSL and Recolour are two different types of adjustment:

The description for the Continuous option says “if the content within the slices are modified.” The verb needs to agree with “content”, not “slices”, so the text should read “if the content within the slices is modified.”

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Thomas.
You can align to a key object in version 2 of Affinity Designer, but not in version 1.

Why wouldn’t you be able to get one?

Which, of course, like everything generated by AI, is accurate and completely reliable! 😁

I have found that Bing Chat Ai is very good for some things, but cannot be relied upon to
You seem to have either conveniently ignored, or failed to understand the implications of, the emoticon that @PaulEC included in his post!!

I asked Bing Chat Ai about copyright issues in artwork that it generates some time ago and the reply was that the system learns the style of an artist from licensed databases and that the pictures generated are originals generated using the style information.
I have had a quick look to find the response but I have not found it at this time, I saved it in a WordPad file. I do not know if I posted the response in one of the threads about AI in Alfred's forum.
A search for a key phrase such as licensed databases should find what you posted.

I don't have my Mac with me to check, but that doesn't look like you're in the right place.
I don’t have a Mac, but that doesn’t look like a list of purchased apps. It looks like a list of orders placed, which is clearly not quite the same thing.

The crux of the issue lies in the fundamental disconnect between the mathematical world and the experiential world. Mathematics, in its purest form, is a language of precision, a tool for expressing the exactitudes of the universe. It is a realm where a circle is divided into 2 radians, equivalent to 360 degrees. This division is not arbitrary but is based on the properties of a circle …
The term π is crucially missing here. An angle of 2 radians is less than 115°, because 360° is 2π radians.

And for some reason the area between 20 and 30mm is split into 20 segments, not 10
Whatever the reason, isn’t that exactly what you want for your 27.5 mm example? Splitting a 10 mm range into 20 segments gives you a segment size of 0.5 mm, so finding the 27.5 mm mark should be straightforward.

Isn’t that the same cloud shape as you posted originally?

Don't know (I can't tell) for DrawPlus and what that offered, but if so, then blame Serif therefor.
DrawPlus is Serif’s original hybrid vector/raster application. Like all of the ‘Plus’ range, it only runs on Windows.
CraftArtist — aimed at crafters and card makers — was developed from DrawPlus, introducing some useful features such as ‘smart’ frames that allow the user to drag and drop a picture onto a frame (or vice versa) with the picture automatically adjusting to snap into the frame.

I would prefer the ability to make new ones directly in Affinity
You’re not alone! The more Shape Tools, the better, as far as I’m concerned.

I found a website where you can download old Serif software but I do not trust it. I think it is better to contact Serif and ask if you can download the software.
Serif stopped offering installer downloads when they closed their CommunityPlus support site. If you follow the link provided by @MikeTO in the first reply to this thread, you can sign up to the independent forums mentioned there and see if one of its members can give you a download link privately.
As @Komatös mentioned, the alternative is to use an external CD/DVD drive or an ISO file created on another PC.

See related ...
Your asset packs are great, but Affinity assets aren’t anywhere near as easily adjustable as the DrawPlus/CraftArtist QuickShapes. (The latter are somewhat similar to the Shape Tool shapes in the Affinity apps.)

Use the Vector Flood Fill tool. (This video was recorded on iPad, but you should find that it’s much the same in the desktop versions.)

The yellow spiral is nested to the bright green rectangle, so the easiest way to select it is via the Layers panel. If you expand the rectangle layer there, you can select the spiral child object.
Alternatively, double-clicking the spiral on the canvas should leave it selected.
