  1. I didn’t receive a reply to my original email asking to participate in Photo on iPad beta, but I was added to the list very quickly when I tried again. I suggest you wait until after the weekend and then resend your email asking to be added to the test group.
  2. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Wanda2. Try ‘Preferences > User Interface > UI Style: Dark/Light’
  3. No problem here (with either the same settings or different ones).
  4. No, it means kind of the opposite! It’s to prevent users of the Apple Pencil from making unintended marks if they touch the screen with their fingers: when the option is turned off you can draw with your fingers, but when it’s turned on your finger touches are only interpreted as gestures (so you have to use the Apple Pencil if you actually want to draw).
  5. There isn’t one. If you have been signed up to the iPad Photo beta group, you should now also be a member of the iPad Designer beta group.
  6. Here’s an idea: let’s not only do away with individual apps but get rid of personas, too. Then we can have everything available from a wonderfully cluttered UI in a single piece of bloatware. No thanks!
  7. Even adding ‘Duplicate’ to the long-press menu would be an improvement, but I like the idea of a pinned or persistent option.
  8. If you’ve already been added to the beta, check your email. Otherwise, review the instructions in your earlier thread:
  9. There is no reason for the Affinity Store to have a record of you unless you’ve purchased an Affinity workbook or downloaded free content from the store. Choose the ‘New to Affinity?’ tab — short for ‘New to the Affinity Store?’ (so it’s irrelevant that you’re not actually new to the Affinity apps) — and proceed from there.
  10. This sounds to me more like a PP issue than an APub issue, William. If you ‘Paste Special’ in PagePlus, what formats are you offered?
  11. Yes to all of the above, except that “into which to get” sounds rather stilted. Although some grammatical purists might insist on avoiding the construction “to get into”, I think it reads better here. I agree that the question mark at the end is misplaced, but in any case I would be inclined to go with the alternative blurb posted by @jmwellborn while I was typing this.
  12. “You are using full stops too much. This makes it hard to read: use commas instead.” But, yeah. A very nice example, although (once again!) the punctuation needs a little TLC. Speaking of punctuation, I would lose the full stops in the author’s name on the cover page.
  13. There’s a download button in the Affinity Spotlight article. I can’t open the web page itself right now, but the zip archive for the DAUB vector brush nozzles is here: https://resources.serif.com/spotlight/learning/DAUB-vector-brush-nozzles.zip
  14. Thanks, Chris. Perhaps you could also find out why the Text Studio uses a keypad with fewer presets instead of using exactly the same one as the text tools do.
  15. I think Serif will be severely limiting the potential user base if such a capability isn’t added to Affinity Publisher. Designer and Photo need it too.
  16. When I tap on the font size in the Text Studio I get a small keypad with seven presets (why not eight?) on the right, but when I tap on the font size in the on-screen keyboard that pops up when I choose either of the text tools I get a larger keypad with fifteen presets (why not sixteen?) on the right. The larger set of presets starts with 9, which is a wasted entry since it’s a single keypress on the main part of the keypad. Also, the ‘OK’ button is correctly aligned on the smaller keypad but misaligned on the larger one, as shown in the attachments. Upon checking these issues in the 1.6 release build I see that it’s exactly the same, so perhaps this thread doesn’t belong in the beta forum, but I’d still like to see them fixed!
  17. <pedantry> The word “ellipses” is the plural form for both an ellipse (squashed circle) and an ellipsis (three-dots glyph). </pedantry>
  18. The one slight oddity I’ve stumbled upon is that if I choose Pixabay as the provider and search for affinity I immediately get four results but the loading spinner to the left of the search box keeps spinning. This doesn’t happen with the few other searches I’ve tried. For the reasons explained in the post linked below, I’m disappointed that Pexels is the only other provider apart from Pixabay and Unsplash. I’d much rather see sites such as Morguefile and StockSnap.io included in the list.
  19. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @thomblr. You can set the line width to as little as 0.1 pt, and you can reduce it even further via the pressure profile in the Stroke Studio.
