  1. As I observed in my previous post, it would be good if we could do what the OP has asked for: using relative units, and thereby obviating the need to trawl through things like paragraph indents after a change of font size.
  2. We can specify px, so we’re not restricted to physical units, but it does look as though we can only use absolute units. It would be good to have the option of using relative units, too.
  3. Duh! I should’ve been able to work that out. Sorry. 300 ppi is overkill for a 150 cm × 225 cm image. If you change the ‘DPI’ setting to 200 the demands on system resources will be greatly reduced but it should still look OK.
  4. What are the pixel dimensions of the photo? What do you mean by ‘fattened’?
  5. As far as I’m aware, to trigger AutoFlow you should only need to hold down Shift (i.e. not Shift+Alt) when clicking on the Text Flow triangle.
  6. Sergey Azovskiy’s Grade UI Kit was included as free content with a major update to Affinity Designer version 1. Please go here for a Dropbox link.
  7. No, I think you’re probably right! I read it as Here are some words Here are some more words and the OP wants to adjust those (lines of) words to the same width.
  8. <pedantry> Soccer is played on a pitch, not a court. I think you mean “the 🎾 is in your court”. 😉 </pedantry>
  9. There are various options for making lines of Frame Text justified.

  11. Just to add to what Walt has said, you can also use APh as the abbreviation for Affinity Photo. This makes it instantly clear to the reader that you’re not referring to Affinity Publisher.
  12. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Duncan. What you’ve described isn’t actually a bug. The ‘Character > Positioning and Transform’ route positions and transforms glyphs for the regular characters so that they’re smaller and (for subscripts) lower than the originals. The ‘Typography > Subscript’ option uses glyphs for the subscript characters where available, but there will usually only be numerals plus a few alphabetic characters, and the font designer may have chosen to make those glyphs look different from their full-size counterparts.
  13. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Hasby. Please check to see if you have a crash report that you can attach. To look for it, go to ‘Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data’. If you see an *.ips file whose name is something like Designer iPad-2024-04-12-083216.ips (i.e. ‘Designer iPad’ followed by a timestamp), tap on the ‘Share’ button and choose ‘Save to Files’ to save it to local or Cloud storage, and then attach it here.
  14. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @tperhai. I think you must mean Designer and Photo! Affinity Publisher was launched in 2019. Serif have pledged their commitment to the perpetual licence model. I don’t think it would be fair to assume that they’re going to renege on that commitment.
  15. Or it may not! We don’t even know whether it’s a 2.x roadmap, let alone 2.5: it could be a roadmap for version 3.
  16. Please make friends with the Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch instead of pointing a digital camera at the screen. You’ll get clearer images and they’ll have smaller file sizes.
  17. You don’t need to keep track! Visit your profile page to view your activity, or simply do a search for 16 bit cmyk (which, according to @Old Bruce, is sufficient in this particular case, but if it weren’t you could narrow it down via ‘More search options > Search By Author’).
  18. I think you mean tailwind! A headwind holds you back. Every time I use Inkscape I’m reminded of how horrible its UI is for such a feature-rich application. Vectorstyler is pretty amazing, given that it’s developed by a one-man band.
  19. The problem with automatic saves, incremental or otherwise, is that they have a horrible habit of kicking in at the most inconvenient moment. It might be helpful to have an implementation where the user is prompted to choose whether to allow the save to proceed or to postpone it.
  20. Welcome back, Simon! I’m not a Mac user, so I’m not in a position to comment on the ‘low accuracy’ setting, but I think it’s reasonable to assume that the ‘Windows Ink’ setting is specific to Windows. What ‘tablet input method’ options do you see, if any?
  21. An A4 portrait page is 210 mm wide by 297 mm high, so for a row of three pictures you need each one to be no more than 70 mm wide (and each row must be no more than 74 mm high). If you’re using an A4 landscape page, the maximum width becomes 99 mm and the maximum height becomes 52.5 mm. Create a new A4 document, place the 12 pictures on the page at the desired size, and use the Move Tool to arrange them in a pleasing layout.
