pavel.frolov reacted to dmstraker in Dave's Colour Models Macros -- Layer Separation (including RGB, RGBW, CMY, CMYK and HSL)
Attached is a macro set for splitting RGB image into separate layers for a number of colour models.
RGB: Basic separation RGBW: New model! Like CMYK but Red, Green, Blue and White RGB-W: Like RGBW but only two layers for separate colour/tone editing CMY: Effective inverse of RGB CMYK: Standard internal model CMY-K: Like CMYK, but with only two layers for separate colour/tone editing HSL: New model! Hue, Saturation and Luminosity on separate layers! HSL-RGB: Same as HSL, but with Hue broken down into separate RGB layers Principles used in doing these:
Start with 'Merge Visible' to create flat layer for base (saves tripping over adjustments) End with single layer group (so you can delete it in one go if you don't like it Named layers, so you know which is which Keep it simple (just the layers, no 'edit ready' adjustments such as curves, sharpening) Fast as possible (so RGB done with channels, CMYK with curves, etc), though new ones need Apply Image which can be very slow! Any bugs, etc. please let me know. Do be patient with Apply Image adjustments and don't try to 'Esc' out as this can leave you in limbo.
    Enjoy!

pavel.frolov reacted to Jhonatan S in Importing Styles doesn't Work
    Helllo there,

I'm still having big trouble trying to Import the assets Styles using Affinity Designer on iPad, which I share this contents with many people, as shown in the image below the app doesn't recognize as Affinity file". please... we really need this fixed
I know there is a "solution" for those that own affinity Photo on Ipad, but this is not a good solution for those that only have Affinity Designer like me. Please let me know if this is possible to fix because if is not, I will need to remove the assets from my store.

     regards,
    Jhonatan

This is a bug specific to Windows and a regression over 1.6 - I shall get it reported to development. Thanks for letting us know!

Yes, these are just sample images I've created to test the macro. I made them in Affinity Photo and saved them as JPG 100%.

    Hello dear developers!
It looks like "Select Sampled Colour" makes the whole program crash when you create a macro containing it and try to execute. I've tried that in 1.7.0.188 beta and 1.6.5.123 stable versions, they both crash.
I've recorded the whole process on video and attached it to the message, hope it helps.

People are more likely to get a piece of free software then paid software and hence you can build quite quickly a 6 million userbase. It's a bit shady that one of the competitors is free now...
You don't get it, do you. If there's an announcement on the Microsoft store website about serif's Affinity Designer then it will fetch far more recognition then other ways. This is free advertisement on a massive scale.

"I share the considerations of Serif why they don't want to send out e-mails to Affinity Photo users that don't own Designer."
I concur, it's about Designer but don't you think any of the contestants are trying to maximize voting? ( one of em is free now and has an automated voting system build in)

Mac users are just 10 percent of all computer users and Windows based users is way larger!
The more people read how good and innovative Designer is, the better.
I've seen lots of programs like Todoist over the years and to be honest they are all quite the same.

If Publisher is going to be as innovative as I think it will be, then they can use all the attention and possibly potential new clients. This will ensure income for the developers and the development of future products.

Today's software market is a tough one considering the competition. It's not like when Adobe started, when there was nothing.
I think Serif took a very brave step to take on the Gigant on it's own home turf and at least they give you a way of getting out of Adobe's grip on your wallet.
I personally think my 2 votes are just a small token of appreciation of the hard work they have done and the hard work there is still to be done in the future.

    YMMV.
