  1. Thanks Hannah It worked exactly like you said even down to not re-grouping all the menu/task bars back where they had been. I'll keep my fingers crossed that when I next use Affinity they are all where they should be. Simmo371
  2. GHi Affinity Can someone please tell me how to open 2 images on the same screen. I'm trying to compare 2 pieces of copied artwork side by side and it's impossible switching between screens. Cheers
  3. Hi Guys I'll have a crack at doing what you detailed and I've attached a small jpeg. Also I had considered the lens to subject distance, squaring the canvas and lens/film plane, even stopping down further but maybe I didn't do any of those thing enough. I'll keep at it and thanks agin. Regards Simmo371
  4. I've photographed some of my wife's artwork for reproduction as posters but I don't know how to square the images that have concave sides. As she's used the entire canvas she doesn't want to loose any of the edges.
  5. Thanks MEB and R C-R I'll have look at the macros you've suggested, thank you both. I'll keep following the tutorials and see how I go. I've just bought the text book so I'll wait until that arrives and have a good study and see if I can grasp digital editing. I was a photographer in the Royal Australian Navy for 28 years but unfortunately I got out just as the Nikon D1 camera came into service. Back then the body alone was $10,000AU. As I did reserve service I got quite competent the the camera but when I got back to the compute lab the younger guys really didn't have the time or techniques to teach this old fossil how to edit my images. I guess that's ok because maybe you and them don't know how to set up a scheimpflug on a 5 X 4 Linhof Technika or dodge and burn a 4 x 6 foot black and white print. Thanks for your support and advice, I'll get back into the forum as I go along. Simmo371
  6. OK MEB I've been looking for the AF Macro files Epic Skies plus any others that are in this suite with no luck. Please point me to the right area to access the epic skies or any other macros because I can't find them and the tutorial assumes you know where to look. Cheers Simmo371
  7. Thanks MEB The Affinity Photo is working great and I've got a notebook beside my iMac to follow the tutorials. I eventually get to where I need to be. Why I was trying to install beta was for the View - Studio - Library - Epic Skies. but I can wait for beta to become available for Mac. It does seem odd they went with Windows before Mac because I was under the impression Mac was more widely used by photographers and graphic artists. Again cheers Simmo371
  8. Hi MEB I'm using 10.13.4 I'm not good at computers and stuff so when you ask me to check the root apps folder I don't have a clue what you mean. But if Beta isn't available for Mac yet I guess that's why I keep seeing the purchase request.
  9. Dear Affinity Photo Forum I've been trying to access Affinity Photo Beta and keep getting told I need a purchased version of Affinity Photo. I have Affinity Photo purchased 1 May 2018 but keep getting nowhere with Beta. Am I doing something wrong? Cheers Simmo371
