  1. Yep, obviously is the requirement on the company but it also depends on what your software collects. So more collecting of data - more legal stuff to keep in mind. I agree with you but that doesn't mean at the end that it won't end in changes in the companies structure or how, what and where they sell. Quite some companies are having real headaches because of this now. To me it's just important that I don't lack a company with same standards like now and that it stays the same long term spoken.
  2. Some more questions: Do the apps work completely without connection or are some features bound to internet because of using some big data or AI internet sources? Is the German language an official feature and thus will be maintained actively? I was impressed that German language exists for the UI and help and it was quite helpful to me. What about the privacy policy in the applications? I found this but I'm not sure if the the mentioned points there are everything or if there is also information about the logged in computer's user or the images opened or edited is logged and sent to a server. Do you expect any changes because of Brexit regarding privacy policies, support or whatever? I noticed you are an UK company and thus this topic is highly relevant. I'm not sure if the software will fit the new EU-wide privacy policy which is legally binding from 25th May 2018 on.
  3. Hello @MEB, thanks for your quick reply. Regarding your answer to point 2: So am I right that I can expect that the Windows and Mac version will be the same quality and features? In the past I had to learn that some software developing companies believe in offering a weaker version for Windows or Mac while asking for the same price to be paid. Reasons for that were that either some third party library wasn't available for the other OS or that they were too lazy to maintain both versions on same level. To me this kind of behavior of a software company is a big reason for never buying a specific software of them. I don't wanna feel and be treated like a lower level costumer just because of some other OS. Best Regards
  4. Hello, I have some presale questions: How often do updates for Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer get released in average? I read that the Windows version has less features than the Mac version. Which features are missing for Windows and can I expect both versions to be the same soon? What about a Linux version? At the moment we are at version 1.6.4 of Affinity Photo. Am I right that I will get 1.7.x, 1.8.x and 1.9.x for free because they are updates? Will I get version 2.x as my one time free upgrade? (I can't find the statement anymore but I thought that I read somewhere on the website or forum that one upgrade is even free, next to all free updates) Are there any rough release plans for version 2.x yet? Do you provide single student discounts? What are the experiences with improvement of tools? For example, right now I noticed that the inpainting function of the filling tool could be better. How likely is it to see those tools to improve? I may be spoiled by Photoshop and its AI and Big Data supported features and the financial support they have because of their way higher license costs. Is Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer made for professionals or individuals or a mix of both? Thanks and best Regards!
  5. Hello @GabrielM! Yes, this is the function I was talking about. I will send you the link to the photo via private message. Before using the mesh warp tool, I was using the content-aware filling several times on the image. That worked, although not with best results. I'm working under Windows 10.
  6. Hello, I had a photo open and tried to apply lattice distortion ("Gitterverzerrung" in German). After I saw that nothing happens when I pressed the apply button, I clicked the close button for the image so I was back in the main screen from where I wanted to open another photo. Before the file open dialogue appeared, my Affinity Pro trial version just froze and CPU usage went up to 75 % (modern CPU, so quite a lot) and 500 MB RAM usage. After waiting up to 5 minutes, the program never responded again. I closed it with the closing button in the top right corner and that just worked instantly. I suspect that the application was trying to apply the lattice distortion after the file has been closed and thus ended in some endless loop. Best Regards
