Pretty necessary for color correction, I would love to see this feature in the iPad Pro version of affinity. I know its available in the desktop version. I also saw this as a feature request back in 2017 - devs, any updates?? Thank you guys!

    Hello all,
I have been developing hundreds of RAW photos in AP and its amazing, but after I’m done I have to go in and one by one close all of the images I’ve developed. I wish there were a way to close all of them with a single command, or perhaps a select option so that we could choose multiple to be closed. Thank you!

You can, the concepts are the same but you may have to do some tweaking to the methods they use for an iPad workflow. I have the book, I do not have the desktop version of affinity, and I have found it useful.

the ability to customize this would be awesome! I would personally love to be able to use the double tap function to switch between color swatches - for example, when masking, it would be helpful to quickly switch between black and white by double tapping the pencil.

The Develop Assistant options are "merged" with the regular Assistant on the iPad version. Only the Lens corrections and Noise reduction are not available for the Apple (Core Image RAW) engine, the rest (Apply tone curve, Raw output colour format etc) can be accessed tapping the Document icon on the top left of the interface and selecting Assistant while in Photo Persona (the last two rows of dropdowns).

    Hi Exploremoar,

    Welcome to the forums

There is no way to properly do this I'd imagine we didn't add a close all button to prevent people accidentally loosing work however if you go to File > Exit it should ask you to close each file one by one

    Thanks

Thank you so much dan! Uploaded to the Dropbox, really appreciate your help. Plus we have the same name so that’s awesome too.

EDIT I am using the iPad version of photo and I can’t seem to find the assistant menu in the develop persona, only when I’m in the main persona...

I've sent you a direct message with a dropbox link, so that you can send us a few files directly

It is, and you can choose to turn this off if you wish. The RAW+JPEG files (and JPEG only) have the post processing applied by your camera, meaning that outside of Affinity in the photos library, the images will look sharp. For the same reason, RAW only files may look blurry in your photos library, as your camera has not applied any additional processing to the image. However, once you load the image into Affinity Photos Develop Persona it automatically applies some processing corrections and effects, meaning your image will look sharp... Don't worry, you're not going crazy!
If you go to the Develop Persona and click on the Develop Assistant option in the top toolbar, you can choose to turn these options off, if you want to manually do these corrections.

You can also leave these corrections on and then manually edit the changes as normal, the choice is yours.

The main reasons I know of to shoot in both formats is as follows:
Almost guaranteed compatibility - Pretty much any program reads JPEGs, but for any editors that support RAW, you have additional scope. Instant access - Should you need an image directly after shooting, you don't need to be carrying around your editing software just to access the file. Why not? - JPEG files take up little room in comparison and only slow the camera down slightly in terms of processing, so why not!

    Hi exploremoar,
    1. Select the mask layer, tap the ellipsis button on the top of the Layers Studio, then tap the Solo button.
    2. No. Feel free to create a new thread for this in the Feature Requests section if there's none already.

    Hi exploremoar,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
This is a known "issue" that's logged and that we are looking into. One way to work around this is duplicating the original image (before starting the selection refinement process) and then output to a mask rather than a new layer with mask.
