+1 on this. v2 was a backward step in many regards. Often I have to toggle a UI element just to be sure which way it's set... link icon in transform panel for example, at a glance it's not easy to tell whether it's on or off. So annoying.

One one hand I'd assume feature requests made in the v.1 era would have been carried over... On the other hand, you know what they say about assumptions... and this could do with a nudge apparently.
A really simple request - add a 'repeat last' command under edit > undo.
    As described here:
In my case a simple mouse tap repeats the last command in other applications - so useful!!

How are you assigning shortcuts? And what shortcuts are you trying to assign?
If you do it via Settings, Shortcuts in the Affinity application I don't understand why there would be a problem, nor why macOS would be getting confused. It just passes the keystroke to the application, which does the interpretation.

Well... right now, I suppose I've little choice
My preference would be as originally intended. Keeping a common workflow / method across all apps makes for simpler care & feeding of the system. I'd rather use a single common OS supported approach instead of a custom per-app method. The problem with layering different solutions to the same fundamental problem is you're more likely to encounter unexpected behaviour, and when you do troubleshooting is much harder.

Mac Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > App Shortcuts...
the same place I create all my custom shortcuts...

Ah ha!  That totally makes sense, thanks for getting to the bottom of it.  At first glance I think it's a good idea to have Affinity make sure there's a usable path. Thing is, though, I've no idea if that will have unintended consequences elsewhere.  So, I'll let you figure that out   It's easy enough to apply a stroke manually.
    Cheers!

@walt.farrell, @Oufti Thanks both for your replies. Setting the 'ignore text wraps' on the annotations fixes the 'problem'.  Thanks for the steer, appreciated!

Dampsquid got a reaction from The3Emran in Publisher Crash when selecting text in Fields Panel
Document is open, Fields is in dock to right of document pane. User action is to double click the placeholder text for author, title, whatever, in order to replace with desired text.  As soon as a double-click is made on the text to select it Publisher will crash (every time).
Positioning the cursor at the end of the text, backspacing until deleted and then entering new, desired, text works as expected.

I don't appear to be able to apply a dashed line style and a pressure curve to the same curve.  That's surprising...
Either I've missed something (quite likely) or this should be a feature request...

Dampsquid reacted to Patrick B in Vector Warp - awesome, but...
I agree, I think it would be great to have that quick option available. The downside of Adobe's implementation is that the warp mesh is not very editable — you can modify the outside points/curves but not the interior area. So having the flexibility of Affinity's Warp Group, with the added ability to conform to a shape as a starting point, would be remarkable!

    Tease!
Looking forward to seeing what this is. I say that  just as I had to dust off an old copy of Illustrator to do something that was way too hard in Designer. I shed a tear at the necessity of this.

Dampsquid got a reaction from Customer Feedback in Picking colours - usability issue with a simple fix...
Why, in the the name of all that is holy, can Affinity products not 'remember' how I'm choosing colours?  For example, I want to change the stroke colour of some objects... I click the grey rectangle in the rectangle. The colour spectrum shown appears... I choose 'swatches' because that's what I want EVERY TIME.  I choose a colour... great.  I select another object, repeat, you'd think Affinity would automatically display swatches because that's the last option I used, but NO.
You'd think there might be a user preference to specify the default view, but NO.
Every single time I have to click about to get to the colours I'm using all the time. EVERY TIME... if there were a tax on clicks I'd be broke. Please fix this.

@walt.farrell Genius!  That was indeed the problem.  My language was set to 'unknown' in the paragraph style.  Changing it to match the auto-correct option 'fixed' this.  So operator error, thanks for taking the time Walt!

+1 for repeat last action command
I'd use this all over the place. Just a couple of exmaples:
At the moment, editing a table, changing cell border for only some cells... having set parameters once, being able to select the next set of cells in a table (same or different table) and <repeat previous> saves a tone of time. Change font attribute for selected text, select next block of text, <repeat previous> Add a style to an image... select next image, <repeat previous> ... and so on, this list is endless Honestly this seems a rather obvious feature to have.  I would also assign a magic mouse action to make it even quicker and easier to invoke.

Dampsquid got a reaction from affinity4Christ15 in What am I doing wrong? (SVG export problem)
OK, so I did that... and it worked!!  But... wouldn't dividing the shape simply put it back as was originally when the two shapes were first drawn?
So I did another quick test.  I used the pencil tool to create two shapes, one within the perimeter of the other as it is for the letter 'o'.  I then used subtract, which made one curve and exported it.  In the other app applying a fill ignores the inner shape again.  So next I used divide on the result of the previous subtract, re-subtracrted and exported.  This should be the same as you have outlined, and given it just worked with the real 'o' you'd think it would work with this new test document too... but no.  The other app still ignores the inner geometry.
Something very weird is going on.  If someone at Affinity is reading this.. I'm mystified...and quite happy to record a video of what I'm doing...
