  1. There are several posts here, but I can't find this specific one: I am keeping my client's colors as global Spotcolors as system palettes I need to add Pantone to this palette (See here) In my settings I have kept the preferences, the colors should be kept and not converted Nevertheless, when adding a Pantone color to a Client's palette, it seams, the color is not a Pantone color anymore (See here) How can I keep the Pantone color intact? Am I doing something wrong?
  2. Try to disable all the accesses in the security settings. After I disabled them, the apps open fast a.f. and all files are opening.
  3. Thank you all. This actually helped. This is crazy, how macOS is interfering increasingly into a sleek workflow. Also, the OS adds from version to version the settings on top to the previous without replacing them. Maybe (I am speculating) also this was troublsome. Now I can open everything and all the files are opening quicker.
  4. @mopperle The files are interchangable. So the OS does not matter. Or at least it not should. Hi. MacOS 14 Affinity 2.3.1 Can't attach the files as those are client's files. I can share directly if you or the Affinity team jumps on that topic.

  6. Hi, what to do if a file is not getting open? Several files, from 1,7 MB to 11 MB are kept in "Document is loading" state and nothing happens. I can not open them in Designer or Publisher, not in Beta or regular, also when transferred to an iPad, nothing happens. Please help. It is very frustrating.
  7. Agree. Give us the 4th and missing brother … He is missed Although I don't think we need a 1-on-1 copy of AE but more something unique that fits to Affinity's brand. More basic. More stable. More integrated in the Link than an app for itself. Simply working like a charm with the other 3 siblings. – See Linearity Curve and their release of Linearity Move. So easy to use, so simple and basic, but works so good. I am amused by people demanding feature-filled software and when I see them use it: 1. They only use 5% of the features, and the results are objectively disastrous. A "real" creative doesn't need all the crazy, we need simplicity and reliability from the software. The rest is done by our skills. That said, a simple but working 4th link in the Affinity family could start as Designer started, reliable easy to use vector tool and over time it grew.
  8. Dear Affinity-Team What is your take on the Affinity Suite and Plugins in the future? I am not talking about the possibility to add them to Photo. I am talking about all of your 3 power apps to have them included in their genetics. I talk to founders, SaaS, and app developers, and I keep hearing the same response repeatedly. An example by https://quaaant.com The same goes for other tools like f.e. I had a conversation with the CEO of Brandy and his response was very similar to the founder of Quaaant. I remember, the beginning of the success of InDesign was its structure as an innovative software, despite Freehand and Quark could handle so called "Xtras" but haven't been built based on plugins and Adobe utilized this feature perfectly. I am aware of the problems of stability and vulnerability of a software by opening to add-ons. Nevertheless, the market shows, how popular those plugins can make a software, when one can add external features just-like-that and the software company can focus on developing the core and more important features, see Sketch or Figma and their development.
  9. I hope so. I don't demand AI or all that nonsens in a designer's toolkit. But this is fundamental and goes back to structure ogf Macromedia Freehand preferences and how one could handle it. I Love Love Love Affinity. But this little workflow thing drives me nuts.
  10. Hi @loukash thx. yes, i saw that. but this is "only" for the shortcuts. I guess I am not the only one who reorganize all the panels in different scenarios with secondary screen or on travel on a laptop. Those workspaces layouts get lost. Even worse, for Affinity Link or Publisher I have to set them then 3 times as those do not correspondent with the settings set up in Designer and Photo. I hope that our voices get heard.
  11. @Ash This has been asked now for so many years over and over again. I really don't understand, why this small small extra is not there yet: when updating / checking beta / changing the computer / reinstalling a clean version of Affinity Suite, I have to set up everything over and over again: presets for panel spaces / layouts toolbar settings app settings in general I understand, there are priorities and other extras your team is working on. But this is not an extra, it is a basic thing. Other applications let you at least get into the library of the MacOS and reposition their app's files to get the prefs working elsewhere. With Affinity even this does not work. I am a supporter and big advocate for Affinity. Left my Adobe world behind years ago. In the beginning I understood you have more important features to build. But the frustration about this small small thing is growing. And I am wasting once again my time if I want to test Beta as I need to set up the whole app-trio again. I really do not get, why one can not export the preferences of the settings and import them withing the same 1.x and 2.x -system at least.
  12. Thank you. And please consider a sync feature through our accounts for settings, spaces, shortcuts etc.
  13. Thank you for your solution. But this is kind of weird and not practical at all: As it took me now years to establish extra shortcuts, it is a really non-solution to restore all of them and then reconfigure. Especially as the settings of Affinity are not synced through all the devices. A sync feature is such a contemporary feature, it is a shame Affinity Suite does not have it. I cannot restore 3 apps on 3 devices and then set them up on one, save them, import on the other ones and hope it works.
  14. This issue is crazy. As much as I am excited about every update, this is almost entertaining. I have added the DELETE shortcut myself back on my MacBook Pro. The Designer copy on my MacBook Air, though doesn't let me and if I add the DELETE shortcut, the field saves an empty entry. Please bring a fix to this asap.
  15. Out of curiosity, I checked your previous posts.—It is good to know the person one is taking to in that other thread about layers.—And wow, what a positive approach on any topic you take here in the forum. For somebody who obviously HATES HATES HATES V2 you are quite active to spread hate, sarcasm, and most important to tell us, YOU WILL NOT KEEP V2. We (I dare to speak for the majority) couldn't care less, if one individual will use another product instead of V2. Nobody forced anybody to buy and use the update. As said, a big wow.
  16. Obviously, you are right and nobody else. My apologies to speak and state my experience from a long, successful career. Thankfully, my designs are made just of one or two layers filled with irony.—A good decision, not to take me seriously, as it would be not en vogue in a modern forum, to discuss things. As wished before and meant it (although you're not taking me etc …) Happy searching.
  17. Interesting take on layers you have: "not wasting time" to name them as they seam to be just "leaves on trees" but still caring that much to rant and defend yourself as they are then important enough to look for them. Obviously, the tool should bend towards you knowing what you want more than you do yourself. I haven't been looking for a hole in your argument. I was providing you the simplest solution, many go for years. But you are not accepting anybodies take on the problem as you simply do not like the new UI.—There are millions of different users with different approaches. A tool can only be as good/organized/structured/efficient as the user is himself. Happy searching.
  18. It's worth mentioning, naming (!) your layers/groups is the pro way to go.
  19. If Affinity will ever change their model, the people here complaining about the low fee will be to blame. Their greed, lack of buisness model knowledge and marketiung strategies, the self-sentered way of thinking. It is so short sighted and destructive. Terrible behaviour.
  20. A dream. Yes, totally. I tried that even on the desktop as one can do that on the iPad ;). Fail.
