  1. Take a look at ACDSee, kinda pricey however. I use the DAM, not the editing part. Does Categories, Tags, Ratings, and Keywords and direct changes on files on HD. Seems to play nicely with its External Editors button. I run ACDSee in one window and have Affinity Photo open on another one. Seems to get switched about as fast as you move from one to the other. Trial period offered, I think.
  2. If you got the download from Affinity, I think you need to double-click on the .dmg file that you downloaded to start the installation procedure.
  3. Ah, but I understood the OP was not using the extension. It does make a difference, and yes, I have used it a few times. Still getting the hang of Affinity. But I assume that Photos is being very careful with the original RAW?? CJT
  4. Well, hate to tell you all, but, Photos does NOT send a RAW anywhere at any time. The article in the link explains all! At least that is what I understand from this article. https://tidbits.com/2019/06/14/the-ins-and-outs-of-non-destructive-editing-in-photos-for-mac-and-ios/
  5. I'm having trouble getting the correction applied. I thought this was automatic! It is in most other apps, like Apple Photos! How do I do this in Develop? Here is what I see, for example. iMacMini, latest OSX, Affinity, etc.versions RAW Farmers Market plus 117.CR2
  6. First, sorry I should have said "Mac" OS. To all, thanks for ideas. To MEB, got me to look into my "excess equipment box" (you all have one, right?), dug out an older Apple wireless mouse, the one with a scroll button on top and two buttons on the sides. This seems to be an acceptable solution, as you have to press down to activate the hand move. And so far, I can have two different mice, as they have different names. We shall see! CJT
  7. I don't know how to explain this, I can't figure out how to search for it. So, here goes. I really, really don't like the fact that the photo I am working on will move around when I happen to drag a finger on the mouse or the touchpad. There has to be a simple way to stop this behavior, but I cannot find it. Yes, I understand why one might want to have a canvas, (right word here?) larger than the photo or logo or whatever item I might be working on, but! If I am only working on a photo, why should it "wiggle" around??? Thanks, CJT
