affinity photo (AP) Bigby - Photo compositions, manipulations, posters etc.

Just some quick attempt at sky replacement and color grading. Also, a simple idea for a poster using watercolor brushes. -
I appreciate your comments guys

I've wanted to keep all my projects in one topic, but I think it won't hurt if some of them get their own spot. So here's "Vacations in Paradise" - composition that I've just finished for some "Monthly Challenge" (but mostly for fun). I'm actually proud of this one. It was a little tricky to put the dog and a woman into the car (had to remove side mirror, mess with her arms, tinker with the perspective and windshield etc.), but apart from that, it went rather well. Took me about 3-4 hours. Enhanced with Color Efex Pro (Pro Contrast profile).

Now that you've mentioned it - that would be a great idea. Thanks for kind words. edit: I've seen some Nike/Adidas poster tutorials lately and decided to give it a try with my own, simple concept. -

To keep it simple and without cluttering the forum with different topics for each project, I will post everything some of my work here. Feel free to comment and give any feedback that would help me improve, as I feel I haven't even scratched the surface with Affinity Photo after about a month of using it. Cheers. EDIT:

Oh, okay. Creating shadows can be a pain in the butt. I'll share some other videos/tips if I find one. BrokenT - No problem. I'm not a pro though. Just doing photo manipulations, composites, posters and such in my spare time.

In my composites I try to color match all the elements with curves first, sometimes adding "Average Blur" of the duplicated background on top of that (set to Color blending mode and with 25-30% opacity). Works quite well. Then I drop some basic shadows and highlights on my objects that I can tweak later if needed. Making it all look believable and interesting takes a lot of time, but it's worth it. Also, for creating shadows I would recommend this video. It was really helpful for me (like many other Photoshop tutorials that translate well to Affinity Photo). That aside, I like the concept of your image Jules and it definitely put a smile on my face.

Voted for Designer as well. -
Here's a little composition I did yesterday, trying to familiarize myself with Affinity Photo. I didn't have any specific vision, so everything was thought up on the spot. It all started with this picture. Then, using different elements of like 9-10 other images, came the final result Regards, Bigby

Thanks for the kind words guys. Originally I had the coffee with some strange elliptical bubbles in, different background (light blue) and the pink-coloured font. There was an obvious lack of details, so I added couple of things as you can see. Still not sold on those coffee beans and the chocolate pattern, but it is what it is. I'll think about the menu. Might be a great exercise. By the way - the font is Bauhaus 93, for anyone wondering.

Hi everyone, I'm Robert. Newbie in graphic design, trying to get the hang of the software and learn as much as I can along the way (and maybe turn it into my profession one day). Hopefully with a little help from all of you. I've been using Photoshop from time to time, mainly to retouch my photos and make some simple posters, flyers, manipulations etc. Last month I stumbled upon Affinity Photo/Designer and decided to give it a try. I was actually really surprised how great it worked - no crashes or lags, quick loading times, quite intuitive UI. Didn't take much time to produce something nice looking. Overall, I was very happy with the trials. Now I guess....I'm part of the "family".
