Thank you Joachim. My problem seems to be the legacy adobe pdf and the printer itself, not Publisher. Sorry to have wasted your time. Doug

Of course it is possible to make such a table without adding blank columns. See image. Keywords = Text styles with decorations

The context menu option called Page Box seems to have an effect on that

    Hi Joachim_L,

You're saying that the 96 DPI A4 document you're creating is showing as A4 in the Page Preset. This is correct behaviour - the A4 Page Preset uses 300 dpi, and as you've changed that, it is no longer the same preset, hence why it shows as custom. Just checking the spread setup, before adding the page from file will show it as custom. This is intentional, as it differs from the built in preset.

The other issue you're seeing is because the pages are always being added using their actual physical dimensions, therefore as both pages are A4, they'll appear as A4 when imported. Granted this may result in a slight loss of quality, but that is something that will get picked up by preflight. Note that if you import a file that uses pixels as it's units, then it will get scaled to the same pixel size based on the DPI of the document you're importing it into, so it will change size.

Of course, Corsairs-Help-AdobePDF.pdf was made with this printer. But I don't know if you get this printer as a standalone version. Isn't this printer not always bundled with an Adobe product? But maybe I am wrong.

Sorry to say, but what you want you can't do with Microsoft PDF Printer or Foxit Reader PDF Printer. For me it works only with Adobe PDF Printer. I am sure there are other PDF printers out there.

What PDF printer do you use? I had no problems on my side. Maybe you could post an excerpt of your document, so that we can test on it?

Just checked our logging system and looks like we have this logged on the iPad with the Cog tool.  I'll update the report with other tools effected.
@Joachim_L If you are ever unsure where to post, post in Questions and we can move it if need be

You have to wait for the release of 1.8x, where this problem is fixed. In the meantime you have to make the AD documents bigger if you want to place them right now in APu.

Sorry I could have phrased that better. After Walt's finding removing the fill will allow it to export, which in the attached document's case will not change the look of the object.

Can confirm this weird behaviour / bug. To prevent rasterisation, remove the fill from the lines with the arrowhead.

    @TKM, welcome to the forums!

To be clear, Serif did not "delete" these toolbar icons.  They were never actually available in the Affinity series products to begin with - they were never added.
I suspect that most of us don't want them.  They simply waste screen space better spent on tools more relevant to the work itself.

@Jon P -- well, I wouldn't let the developers off the hook so fast, with a respectful nod to all the things they do accomplish very well -- for example, the way image functions are so much better than 'the other brand'.
I think the problem Joachim raises clearly is behind the difficulties I had exactly with replacing images, in fact when providing files to test another bug.
These were _quite_ frustrating, as nothing worked at all as in InDesign, which uses frames galore, but is sensible about them. I finally ended up fresh-creating images, as seeming the only sensible way after enough time wasted. But this should never be.
I'll suggest a simpler way yours can work, which will also not interrupt anyone who might be used to another.
    I would feel:
clicking on an image and replacing should...simply replace the image. What else wouild be sensible?? If 'frames are always present', fine. Replace the image, as you know what's inside its frame. The name of the frame should say that it is one, as opposed to being the image itself If you click on the image inside the frame, once again replacing should replace it. This kind of situation arises when 'programming thinking' is held above user thinking.
If you want to use a particular kind of structuring internally, fine, please do butalways, make the use presentation simple and direct. No extra hierarchies should interrupt, as at present here. Best to each,
    Clive

Joachim_L got a reaction from GDPR-354025 in Ellipse Tool Question
? GarryP showed you in a video to make it with fading. As for a hard divide of a circle I (me) would use a different approach.
    1. Start with the Pie Tool. To make a half ellipse: Start angle 90°, End angle 270°, Total angle 180°
    2. Copy and paste the half ellipse.
    3. Rotate the second half ellipse with 180° and move them together, that you see a full circle.
    4. Click on half circle and click the Place inside the Selection from the top of your toolbar.
    5. Place an image and click the half circle you selected in step 4.
    6. Do this for the other half circle.
You can now move your images or scale your images inside the half circles without erasing something.

No, the only "interactivity" in APublisher right now are Links and Anchors. Unfortunately from my point of view even forms are missing. But there are some video editors out there allowing you to embed multimedia in PDF files.

You are right. There is no valuable reason why the colour is switching. Selecting Paint Brush Tool first and then selecting the colour is working as expected.
