Of course it depends on the size / resolution of the monitor, but for me after 16 open windows / tabs (docked) the active window / tab is not highlighted. Instead it vanishes into the >>-pulldown for more windows / tabs. It would be nice, if the current active window / tab is highlighted in the foreground.
Affinity applications have the colours orange, magenta and cyan in their logos. Why not using these colours to distinguish between the applications? When I started with AD, AP and APu I often clicked into the wrong programme, because the panels looked all the same. A small overline in the application colour for panels and windows / tabs would be enough.

Couldn't agree more with you on this point! Esp, the 2nd paragraph.

Add my name to the list. I do it more often than I care to admit. ;(

Shortly after Affinity first launched, I used the software to layout the print edition of my latest book. To say that it was a painful process was an understatement. I constantly encountered bugs and wasted hours searching for work arounds. I eventually finished the book layout after around 80 hours and the results were acceptable. At this point decided to leave the layout alone because every change threw up a new problem.
Today I’m creating a print layout for my latest book and wasn’t looking forward to the experience. But what a surprise. I’m powering through the layout process and after a couple of hours have 40 pages complete. The latest version of the software feels very professional and I’m even enjoying the process.
We don’t say it often enough so here goes...
    Well Done

It would be great to have the current eci.org color profiles pre-installed with Publisher. Especially the eciCMYK (FOGRA 53): http://www.eci.org/en/colourstandards/workingcolorspaces
As a printer, we are often dealing with non-technical customers who are not able to install color profiles without further assistance. And for all tech-savvy users it would be convenient to have them available.

Excuse me, this is the definition of global colours.
If you want to have global colours that are restricted to just one artboard you have to adapt your workflow. You can define the same colour multiple times and e.g. call them 'corporate red artboard 1' and 'corporate red artboard 2'. That way you can change them seperately for each artboard for multiple objects.
    Cheers,

Made a request right now. I can't believe this is by design. What was the intention behind this design decision? To work a bit longer? To provoke frustration? But Serif is smart, the intention was teaching / educating to think and plan before doing something.

    Hi Joachim_L,
This behaviour is by design I'm afraid. I would recommend making a post in the Feature Requests section regarding this.
    Thanks

Joachim_L got a reaction from Callum in Request: Turning Colour into Global Colour (afterwards)
    1. Create a colour in a palette and do not make it Global.
    2. Create an element and assign the colour to this element.
    3. Deselect the element, select it again and you see that the colour is highlighted (active / assigned) in the palette.
    4. Turn the colour into a Global Colour and change the colour values.
Result: The already correctly colour assigned element does not reflect the changes in colour values. To avoid the extra work of re-assigning colours, please change this behaviour.
As a sidenote: Highlighting active colours in the palette is also a field for improvement. E.g. create an element with different colours for stroke and fill. If stroke colour is in foreground on the Swatches panel the colour is highlighted in the palette. If you now change fill colour to the foreground, the colour for the stroke stays. You have to deselect the element and select it again to have the fill colour highlighted in the palette.

Behaviour confirmed here, There is no Vertical Alignment in Text Styles either, someone might know of a way to emulate vertical alignment using the Text style options.
Personally, I find it odd that you cannot edit a Style, so you cannot see any of the settings nor make adjustments post creation in a Style panel that shows what attributes are in that style.

Do not confuse arrangement with orientation. Your screenshot shows the dialogue, when you open Document Setup again. When you create a new document, then you can select there the page size. If you want landscape, just uncheck the Portrait checkbox.
So you already created your document. Now you have to use Spread Setup. Select All Spreads and uncheck the checkbox Portrait.

Joachim_L got a reaction from Gabe in IDML + Preflight: Non-proportional scaling warning
Erm, this is embarrassing. Forgot to mention a few extra steps. The problem is not the IDML import and non-proportional scaling ... The IDML was A4 and 600dpi. I changed to 300dpi and and scaled down to A5 bilinear. Seems to be a rounding error.
    Sorry for wasting your time.
