I would use APu with AP, but I recommend buying AD also. The more experienced you get, the more options you would possibly need. All three applications with the Studio Link feature are a powerful package.

I think this is known about and relates to the nodes being vertically parallel, rotating the lines will make the curves behave as you would expect, so selecting both right hand nodes will connect them.

A workaround, is to select the right hand nodes, and click the reverse button before you click the join button.

I'd like to see a text colour option so that text which had acidentally been tagged with CMY other than zero could be spotted in the Preflight panel. I've just imported some text from someone and it has ended up with a lot of CMY as well as K. Furtunately I spotted it in Acrobat before sending out the file.

Good point. Note though, that users can create an empty document of an appropriate size, import the palette as a Document Palette, then Export the document as a .aftemplate file. That way the palette is easily usable on future documents of that size.

As a punishment for my bad testing, I made a new HKS K palette for Affinity. All colours are Global and Spot.
WARNING 1: I tried my best to make no error creating the palette, so use it at your own risk.
WARNING 2: You may find other CMYK definitions for HKS, but you can edit the HKS colour to your likings.
WARNING 3: Global colours will only be kept when you import as Document palette. Importing as an Application palette the "global" information will be lost.

I disagree. APub does not 'spoil the entire line of Affinity' it enhances it and brings all three programs together. At least for me it has improved my workflow.

I produced high-circulation monthly magazines for many, many years (PC, Mac, PlayStation, and, and, and) and never ever missed this option – and nothing changed my workflow, when InDesign presented this feature. I don‘t say, that it is not convenient to have an automation feature like column span, but is  everything, but not at all „basic“.
“Basic“ is – for example – to add PDF passthrough to Publisher or a document-wide layer system.

Okay - I had tried a reboot before and it didn't fix anything, but I tried another reboot and the Publisher folder is now gone.  I tried to install 1.8.0 again, and I'm happy to report it was a success.

Just simply copy the "thin space character" (not <THSP>) and paste into the Find field. But you are right, there are some special characters missing.

Whenever I want to search for some photos in the Stock panel I get the message "Connection Failed", because I can't define the settings for authentification. Is it planned that there will be preferences for this?
