Joachim_L got a reaction from once2work in Save Selections within AP
Far better guess than mine and the correct one I think.

Select your elements you want to export, export and pick in the pulldown Area: Selection with / without background.
Or maybe I misunderstood your intention?

Joachim_L reacted to David in Яuislip in Adjustment(s)?
Yeah, the second one's a typo yet coming from the University of Pedantry I can overlook that. What I don't appreciate is inconsistency, I think it's sloppy and I need another beer

Joachim_L got a reaction from Callum in Affinity Photo on windows 7
Welcome to the Affinity forums @Kerstin Borgman!
Do you mean "Windows® 7 (Service Pack 1; Aero enabled)"? Read this
or google this "windows 7 aero activate"

Joachim_L got a reaction from Sean P in Guides cannot be removed when moved over the artboard.
Maybe a misunderstanding? You mean the guides cannot be removed when outside the artboard? I can confirm, that they cannot be removed manually, but with the Guides Manager.

Assuming you want to save a “marching ants” type selection, use the Channels panel and (with the selection active) right click on Pixel Selection and choose Save to a Spare Channel.

Joachim_L got a reaction from NotMyFault in Bearbeitete JPEGs werden plötzlich stark komprimiert gespeichert.
EDIT: Schnapszahl. Muss ich jetzt einen ausgeben?

Joachim_L reacted to Peter Gregory in Text aligned left and right on same line?
@Joachim_L Thank you sir! You're a life-saver! Thank you so much!
Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm using APublisher, but I've also got ADesigner and APhoto, so I assumed, that if it's possible, it should have been the same method.

Joachim_L got a reaction from Peter Gregory in Text aligned left and right on same line?
Welcome to the Affinity forums @Peter Gregory!
Assuming you are using APublisher this can be done easily. Write your left text, then insert a "Right Indent Tab" (Shift + Tab) and write your right text.
EDIT: Just tested this in ADesigner / APhoto. Same keyboard shortcut although not appearing in the menu.

Joachim_L got a reaction from entropy in Why has Save as Package its own file extension?
Saving as a package is a handy function and was strongly demanded on the forums, but why this way?
I can Save as Package from APu AND AD. In both cases the file extension of the document is .afpackage. Serif knows for sure, that Windows can only assign one application to a file extension?
The only difference between both file extension is, that you get the package dialogue. Once you open the package you'll never see this info again. So why not leave the original file extensions and issueing the same dialogue with the title "This document was packaged" with all the information?
Why does the target folder has to be empty? A possible workflow scenario could be that I worked on a bunch of print products with recurring images and fonts and want to have ONE package without sending doubled, tripled, quadrupled sources. Right now I have to do a boring moving and replacing job.

Joachim_L got a reaction from Old Bruce in Page number puzzle in Affinity Publisher
Another try: Go to your master page, select the page number box and then check "Ignore Text Wraps" from the Text Frame panel.

Joachim_L got a reaction from Alfred in Designer
Grmblh. Someone again faster. But there are points c) and d)
c) Why are the layers doubled in your document?
d) Why is the green circle part of the logo a Pixel layer? That part could easily be a vector too. And with a complete vector logo you don't have to worry about quality when blowing the logo up.

Welcome to the Affinity forums @Momongaz!
You can achieve this when you install a third party plugin e.g. like G'MIC.

Joachim_L reacted to Begonius in New Textframe: The promt shows outside the box!?! Why?
Hi MEB, thank you!! This did the trick! So I will remember to check the values in the textframe panel AND the text panel for some "old remains".
Actually Joachim was right too. Thanks for your time, both of you. Stay healthy and happy!

Ok. Thanks for the help. I also figured out that without a data mwerge layout it will generate one sheet of 10 cards for each record.

Joachim_L reacted to walt.farrell in Not all 1.9-updates are good: Outline view mode
I'm not sure what you're saying, @Joachim_L.
Outline view mode still works in Publisher. You can set it in the Designer Persona, and it will remain when you're back in the Publisher Persona.
Are you saying that you are switching between the Publisher and Designer applications, and expect the view mode to survive that transition? If so, I will point out that the View Mode is not saved with a .afdesign document, and even if you simply Save, Close, and re-Open the document in Designer you'll be back in Vector view mode, not Outline. And when you transition between the applications via "Edit in" you are closing and opening the file.
