  1. Welcome to the Affinity forums @JerickoTan698! Frame text can not follow a path to my knowledge, but you can do this with the Artistic Text tool. Perhaps you can show us what you want to achieve?
  2. And I am surprised, that the icons are an annoyance for someone. One advantage of their "ugliness" is, that you won't miss them between all the beautiful ones.
  3. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Phil Tseng! Do you have hardware acceleration on? If Yes, then turn it off. If not, help the developers and post a crash report here. Instructions you'll find in the below post.
  4. The title is not very precise, so here is the recipe. 1. Have a formerly saved document open. Do some changes to the document, so that the document tab shows [Modified]. 2. Switch e.g. to Preferences > Performance and turn on / off Hardware Acceleration and click Yes for restart. 3. You get a warning that there is an unsaved document. Click Yes to save. Result: Application closes, but it is not restarting.
  5. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Faolind! Are the fonts used in the PDF installed on your system? Could you upload a sample page of that PDF for others to check? An alternative would be trying to save to text from a capable PDF reader.
  6. Maybe it would be a compromise if the user wants to use a margin of 0 to be shown. Right now Include Margins with 0 values result in margins not being active/checked.
  7. It took me a few seconds longer on my average Windows machine, so there is hope, that the files will open faster on your new machine Emmi.
  8. Welcome to the Affinity forums @EmmiV! Turning off hardware acceleration in Preferences > Performance could be worth a try? Another reason could be, that your IDML files are really complex ... taking ID 5 minutes to open them seems to be an indicator. Is it possible for you to upload one of those problem IDML files to the forum?
  9. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Bradley Barlow! What you see are outlines of text frames and not guides. Guides are the help lines you drag from the rulers oder the Guides Manager. To hide the outlines, click the Preview Mode button from the top toolbar.
  10. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Lincoln44! If I could guess, then I would say that there is a Leading Override applied to your paragraph. You find Leading Override in the Character panel.
  11. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Tim59! Are your graphic drivers up-to-date? If yes, deactivate Hardware Acceleration in Preferences > Performance and try again. If this was the solution, please tell the name of your graphic card.
  12. This isn't just a switch which has to be enabled. PSD is a closed format and Adobe has surely no interest to give away the specifications except for license fees. So reverse engineering will take some time ... if possible. Out of curiousity: Are there any programmes out there (except Adobe ones), which are able to write back editable text to a PSD?
  14. This seems to be fixed in beta 1.10.2.1178 (or later?).
  15. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Herbert_Lepold! The message in your PDF is just simply saying, that the file is write protected. Wouldn't it be enough to remove the write protection or save under a different name? Cool image btw.
  16. You can do this also with the rectangle with the Stroke panel or the top context toolbar. For straight lines just use the Pen tool. Click and release for start of the line, move the mouse to somewhere else and click and release for the end of the line. For creating lines with 45° angles hold the SHIFT key.
  17. Normal behaviour, as you "change" a preset. Question remains: Is there anything inside the bleed area? Is it possible to upload your .afdesign file here?
  18. Include bleed in the export options checked? Looking at the first image it seems to be me, that nothing is going into the bleed area?!?
  19. Pixie.heic crashes instantly for me and again no problem with Gimp.
  20. Not much I am afraid. It seems to be that the PDF library (iText) used, changed the font names. Even in Acrobat they are named this way. If there is any chance, I would ask the maker of the PDF which fonts were used in the document.
  21. Welcome to the Affinity forums @CJ_smith! Do you have any document open? Without any open document, the tools are always "greyed".
