  1. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Gareth Price! Which application are you using and what is the file format you are exporting too. Please note, that not all file formats support transparency.
  2. You have to ask a moderator for a private upload link and to look after your problem. Your PDF export settings are nothing unusual, so I am clueless at this point.
  3. Perhaps you accidently locked them via menu View >> Lock Guides or placed the guides on a Master Page and therefore you cannot remove them on a "normal" page.
  4. No problem, the screenshot makes it clearer. I tested it myself on Windows 10 and had no problem. So there must be more, than I can see only from the screenshot. Which export setting did you use? And could we get a hand on your Affinity document?
  5. I think this is not the point here. For myself I get a warning when I open a non-profiled file (if I have it set up in preferences). The real concern is, that if "Convert opened files to working space" is unchecked, the file is converted / assigned to a profile anyway. To my understanding unchecking "Convert opened ..." means, that I "disallow" a conversion.
  6. They can, thanks to the pinning feature. I would love to see tables spanning several pages. Making a manual cut at every page is not very comfortable.
  7. Welcome to the Affinity forums @teresia! This reminds me of a bug, that should be fixed a while ago. Which application and version are you using on which OS?
  8. This is because you can only select one application for a file extension to open as default. But you can easily change this. Right-click one template, select Open with and then Choose other app. In the next dialogue you can select APublisher to open this file type and check the box for Windows to memorise this decision. Sorry if this is not precisely what it is called in English. Have you tried to remove the folder in the "New dialogue" of APublisher and tried to add it again?
  9. I had no choice so to say, at that time where I tried it first, APu was not able to open IDML so I opened a 300 pages PDF. To my surprise it went well, apart from some text lines not meant to be grouped.
  10. There is the option "Group lines of text into text frames" to avoid that when you open the file in APu.
  11. This can mean two things: a) This folder does not exist anymore on your desktop or b) the folder is empty. Can you check please and if a) and b) do not apply. What is inside the folder? Removing the folder and adding it again is also worth a try.
  12. I may be wrong, but initially PDF was meant as a document format looking consistent / exchangeable over several platforms. In those ol' days working in a prepress company (RIP50 and Linotronic 330 rule!) we experimented if we could use a PDF for making films and it was a bit adventurous. Anyone knowing Crackerjack, a plugin we used for separating colours?
  13. If you click on of the links in the overview page of the forums saying "Report a bug in ... product name" - for example https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/72-report-a-bug-in-affinity-designer/ -, then you will see some guidelines on how make a proper bug report.
  14. Hi Jillian, what application are you using on which OS and can you make a screenshot of the templates page and show us here?
  15. @ClairelyClaire Preferences >> General >> Import PSD text as text rather than bitmap checked?
  16. As said AP aces! The good thing about giving bad answers, that there is always someone who knows better. Shame on me, I should have known better with the Transform panel.
  17. Welcome to the Affinity forums @vicdus! I am sure the AP aces have much better ways achieving what you want. I would create a layer with your desired width and height, keep it selected, then menu Select >> Selection from Layer and Delete. If you need to re-use this layer, you can save the selection to file and load it at a later time.
  18. I think I was not explaining precisely enough. You cannot open, but you can place a .docx. If APu has problems with your .docx you should upload it here or if confident, ask a moderator for a private upload link for further examination.
  19. Then move the History slider completely to the left? As long as you are not merging the adjustments you can remove them easily.
  20. Welcome to the Affinity forums @jonowi! What would be so bad about undoing the latest step in history?
