  1. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Nordsted Design! What do you mean the font needs correction? Do you mean the ligature between f and l? You can turn this off in the Character panel. What application are you using? Affinity Publisher or Affinity Designer? You posted this in the Affinity Publisher forum.
  2. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Christian_F_V! A picture frame is a placeholder meant for a picture, whereas the other geometric shapes can be converted by just clicking on them with the Frame Text Tool. But you can easily convert a picture frame to a text frame via menu Layer >> Convert to Text Frame. To make this command more easier, make keyboard shortcut for it.
  3. But no 88x55 mm in the list, so I would consider this size a mistake. Perhaps the Serif employees have bigger wallets? 🤔
  4. Often enough I read in the forum the plea of a moderator to collect, zip and upload files. What I would like to see is a) Package the files and zip them in one go and / or b) Packaging means sending the files to someone else. So it could be useful, that Preflight kicks in and show warnings if any and / or c) Preflighting + Packaging + Zip and / or d) ID gives you the option to add some production notes and adds a report. From time to time you have to write some notes so this feature would be handy.
  5. No. What is the intention behind your question? You can print to file with a Postscript driver to get something similar to EPS.
  6. Yes you can, as I meant the hardware acceleration preference inside Affinity Photo. Start Affinity Photo, visit menu Edit >> Preferences >> Performance. Uncheck the hardware acceleration checkbox and restart.
  7. You can't, only Serif can. But you can make your own preset or template. I do know 85x55mm is standard size for Germany, but also for the rest of the world?
  8. Welcome to the Affinity forums @WatcherJoshua! Sounds like you did not click one of the first three alignment icons from that dialogue. Once clicked Last Selected should be available.
  9. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Fullnerd! What a nerdy question. As the text is pushed out of the box I would guess, that you activated text wrap for the background with the gradient (or somewhere else). You can deactivate the text wrap setting for this element or you can set "Ignore Text Wrap" for this text frame in the Text Frame Panel. Or maybe it is something else I am not being able to see without the document.
  10. Sorry for being lazy, but Affinity Publisher is such a long term to write. And where to store your pics for placing and linking ... it depends on your temper / workflow. I can only speak for myself, that a project I am working on consists of several folders like "links", "fonts", "temporary". Just click one text frame and you'll see on the right side a small triangle, click that and then link it to another text frame and to another (if needed). Once all text frames are linked, the text has one "flow", so that you can delete the superfluos text frames and make one large text frame holding all your text. Means following your example, that you reduce 3 to 1 text frames for your body text. You can copy the contents of Master to a new one of course or use Add Pages from File to achieve that. But I would use Templates for this. Set up your default layout and export it as Template. If you have several templates I would make a folder structure for a better organization. When creating a new document, just click Templates on the left side, add the folder(s) where your templates reside and then select the wanted layout from the overview. To make clear, this is my way of working, others may have a different approach.
  11. Welcome to the Affinity forums @boorowaboy! Using the Make Linked button means, that the embedded file is saved under the destination where you hit the Link button. Instead you have to replace the images ... BUT Indesign has a nice export feature to minimise file size (could be voluntarily activated) discarding these parts of the image which are not visible. This means, when you replace the image they differ in size and will be placed differently. Best would be, if you have an IDML file of your original layout to open with APu. Regarding your tiled images: This could happen during export from Indesign, especially when there are fx applied to the image, like a drop shadow.
  12. Forgot one. Turning off hardware acceleration in Preferences >> Performance might help.
  13. Welcome to the Affinity forums @MariaLU! The crash reports are located inside the folder reports. In the meantime: Did you check if you Windows or graphic driver is up-to-date?
  14. For sure, at some point the Contour comes to its limits in the sense of making sense. But the output looks strange, as suddenly a hole emerges and the contour gets some extra nodes. Attached an example of a pie with a contour radius of 152,469 mm.
  15. At least you are a Gourmet, not a Gourmand ... this is what I am reading from your username.
  16. Maybe my fault, as I do not have Word but LibreOffice. @walt.farrell Could you please create a Word file and an APu file having both a Body style for me? I am trying my very best with LO, but whatever I do, I get two styles, one called "Normal" and one called "Body 1". In the hierarchical view, "Body 1" is "inside" "Normal".
  17. No, this is not possible, but a nice idea. Right now APu imports styles from text files, but unfortunately you have no control over this while importing. If the text file has a style called "Body" and "Body" already exists in the APu document, the imported style will be renamed to "Body 1". So here is room for improvement. But you can use Find & Replace to search for "Body 1" and replace it with "Body" and delete the imported text styles afterwards.
  18. Right-click on one of those assets and select Delete Asset from the popout. You can only delete one asset at a time. To edit an asset, you drag it onto your document, edit it there and add it back to your assets.
  19. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Andrea Favini! Here some further information for you:
  20. There will be of course other ways. Here is my way. Snapping enabled use the Pen tool to draw a triangle and after finishing the triangle click on Selection in the Context Toolbar.
  21. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Woggy09! I guess this happens because your curve / element is not closed.
  22. Perhaps only this page where text wrap is not working?
