  1. I don't know the mechanics how Canva exports a file, but I would bet a Print PDF delivers better quality than PNG and there is a chance that vectors are preserved with PDF.
  2. Hmm, never worked with Canva so far, but as I can see, you can save it as Print PDF. Save as PDF and then open it in Affinity Designer. Worth a try I think.
  3. Where did you download the file from? Any URL for us? And was the image scaled up or down before you tried to print it? Perhaps this has nothing to do with Affinity, but with your workflow?
  4. The raster image won't get any better by saving as a vector format. I guess the geometrical elements once were vectors. So it would be better to work on the file where the lines are still vector.
  5. So far for Amazon analysts. In all my years working in prepress I experienced many funny things with fonts, but I never experienced font problems with Affinity so far. Maybe you should not take the step with PDF to Print and send just the exported PDF from APublisher. If you want to be sure, that all fonts are embedded uncheck Subset Fonts. You find this option under the More button in the export dialogue of APublisher.
  6. This SVG contains mainly an image and no vector graphics. Illustrator CS6 is not able to render this nicely as well. Maybe some SVG professionals can say more about the file. As a workaround you could save from GIMP as a JPG, TIFF or any other raster format.
  7. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Tom123! Could you upload the SVG here? As you said "e.g. Gimp", have you tried another software apart from Gimp, e.g. Inkscape?
  8. I stumble upon Print to PDF. What did you do? Using the Print command printing to a PDF writer or using the export function? Which fonts are corrupted? And could you upload a sample PDF?
  9. Then log into your account on https://store.serif.com and visit Downloads and Product keys.
  10. Feels like a bug to me. As a workaround you can use the Erase Brush Tool in the Pixel Persona to get rid of the border.
  11. Is Windows up-to-date? Are graphic drivers up-to-date? Tried to disable the hardware acceleration in Preferences >> Performance? Perhaps a complete reset would help (back up first).
  12. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Paul Gotts! The difference between Print and Press Ready option are bleed and colour format. So I would say you can se your document as is. But keep in mind, that images / colours might look different, when you print on your local printers compared to online printing firm.
  13. Affinity Photo will not open, because the file header says it is a TIFF, but the file extension is DNG. Not too clever I think. But indeed, as a .tif it opens as greyscale. XnViewMP sees a greyscale, IrfanView sees a greyscale and PS CS6 sees a greyscale. Only RT opens as a colour. When you want to process the file further in Affinity Photo you could save as 16bit TIFF from RT. I did this and the file opens as colour in Affinity Photo.
  14. Welcome to the Affinity forums @johnptd! A DNG should open in Affinity Photo, so could you a upload a DNG causing problems?
  15. Whatever I do, I am able to export with a spot cut contour for preset press ready. Please test the attached palette and import it as document palette. Roland-CutContour.afpalette
  16. Not quite what I wanted. Could you upload the Affinity document? And perhaps the Roland Color Spot Library? Maybe the Roland Colour are not spot colours, when you import them to the Affinity application.
  17. There is no Adjustments panel in AD, only in AP. You can reach the adjustments in AD from the Layers panel.
  18. Maybe you noticed the More button in the export dialogue. When you scroll a bit down you will notice the checkbox Honour spot colours, check that and your spot will appear. Personally I use PDF (press ready) 90 % of the time.
  19. @BofG Stupid me. Yes, you are right. Forget that part about the First Selected. More or less one could expect, that all actions are executed after hitting the Apply button. And I must confess, that I have no single clue, why the Apply button is even there, because you can leave this dialogue by simply clicking somewhere else.
  20. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Kaiser.Design! Does APu crash with every IDML or with just a few? If possible, could you upload an IDML that causes a crash or if confident, ask a moderator for a private upload link.
  21. Welcome to the Affinity forums @John Kirk! You have to use the export function to get a JPG.
