Welcome to the Affinity forums @Pakun! Opening a PDF means AD is interpreting the file, means makes it editable and when there are fonts used which are not available on your system ... How about placing a PDF? There you have the choice to select Passthrough (as is) or Interpret (editable). Once placed you can rasterise the file.

PDF with three pages and all printer marks was created in APu 1.8x and then placed as Passthrough in AD. The result is, that the top left corner shows the printer marks and right and bottom side are cut off. No problem with a single page PDF. Additionally pages 2 and 3 are shown as empty, when changing. threepages.pdf

Can't replace missing fonts globally
Joachim_L replied to SirWillibald's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
If there are some font leftovers, couldn't you use the Find and Replace panel? Click the cog, then Format, right pulldown and select Missing there. Then replace with the font of your choice. Or easier: Upload your file for the developers to examine. -
Doubleclick the title bar again would have been a good advice, but not if the window was closed once. Otherwise there is no way to resize the window indeed. Is there any reset for application windows possible or only just this hacky way? Close APu and edit "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Publisher\1.0\Settings\Window.xml" and change the width and height values for DataMergeManagerDialog to 0. Next time you restart APu the window gets it default size of 680 x 470.

Welcome to the Affinity forums @Charlie Bucket! It seems to be, that you applied a transparency to the text frame. Select the text frame and click the Transparency Tool and change Type to None in the context toolbar. Or simply click the Revert Defaults button (icon which looks like a cloud with a red line).

What are the specs of your machine? Are files linked or embedded? Turning off / hiding everything that needs real-time calculation might help on a weaker machine (the devs have to correct me here): Navigator panel, Text Style Samples, Stock panel, reducing snapping options to a minimum, live preflight. Set View Quality to Nearest Neighbour, do not use Precise Clipping, set Retina Rendering to Low Quality, turn of hardware acceleration. Make vectors clean and simple by e.g. merging curves etc. pp. HTH

Text indent
Joachim_L replied to SimoA's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Have a look at the Paragraph panel. Left Indent and First Line Indent have different values. Change the values to 0 for both (or use the Revert Defaults button). -
The option copying text, images, other content and output help for visually impaired has to be checked to get it open. rc4-40-copyallowed.pdf

Good luck with the attached one. It is 40-bit RC4 encrypted. rc4-40-highresprintexceptpages.pdf

1. Create a document with a non-transparent background. 2. Place two different images on each other. 3. Set the top image to blend mode Erase. 4. Select both images. 5. Export as PNG or JPEG with Selection Only and show the Preview. Result: The top image is not erased. Workaround: Use Selection Area or Whole Document.

Crash trying to import Excel .xlsx file
Joachim_L replied to FredB's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Seems to be something inside the spreadsheet. Resaving in LibreOffice Calc APu still crashes.
