  1. Perhaps the problem was the plugins for 32 bit and 64 bit lying in the folder. Affinity is not able to use 32 bit plugin AFAIK, so the 32 bit version can be deleted safely. This is my way, there are of course others: 1. Create a directory called AP-plugins. 2. Copy only Flood-208 64bit.8bf and Flood 2 presets into the folder AP-plugins. 3. Open AP and visit Preferences >> Photoshop Plugins and click Add to browser for the folder AP-plugins. 4. Have Allow "Unknown" plugins to be used checked. 5. Close the dialogue and restart AP. 6. Have fun.
  2. I reserved the name, what happens next? And even if reverse it, there is a typo then in Ed_Bleahcim.
  3. Caused by my laziness to look for the correct wording. 1) Select the rectangle you want to place the image in. 2) Activate the button like in the screenshot. 3) Place image command and when you get the Place image cursor, click on the rectangle. Next time you want to change the image, select the image in the Layers panel and click Replace image in the Context Toolbar.
  4. My fault, initially I wrote PSD instead of Photoshop PDF in my last sentence at my first comment, so this was misleading.
  5. ? A Photoshop PDF is still a sort of image and keeping the duotone colours when the PDF is set to Passthrough. Attached is a triplex PDF you can try. triplex-.pdf
  6. Welcome to the Affinity forums @GoodGameKitty! I can confirms this as well for 1.9.2.1035 no matter if hardware acceleration is on or off, but this seems to be fixed with the latest beta of Affinity Publisher.
  7. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Matthew Crowther! Unfortunately Affinity does not seem to support Duotone PSD yet!? But you can try to work around with placing Photoshop PDF files. Perhaps your printer is again helpful and delivers you some Photoshop PDF for testing purposes?
  8. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Janet Warum! What tools do you mean to be missing? Or is it the fact, that the tools are greyed out? If this is the case, the tools come to life as soon as you create or open a document. If you mean the left Studio panels: Go to menu View >> Studio >> Show Left Studio.
  9. Welcome to the Affinity forums @sopax! The easiest way (for me) would be simply placing the image and then using the Vector Crop tool from your left toolbar. Or making a rectangle first, placing the image, moving it over the rectangle, cutting the image, clicking the Place Inside from the top toolbar and inserting the image or or or.
  10. Oh dear. Sorry, I did not read carefully as you wanted to know an answer for Affinity Designer and not what I read for Affinity Publisher, which means I have no solution for you.
  11. Welcome to the Affinity forums @RalphLG! Maybe I am not understanding your question. You will always see the border of text frames unless you turn on Preview Mode. So there is no explicit option for showing the text area borders.
  12. Preflight not, but you can do this perhaps with some GREP yourself? This is what I found when I was looking for the meaning of "word stacks":
  13. Welcome to the Affinity forums @J925! Could you upload the Affinity document? If everything fails, flattening (menu Document >> Flatten) before printing should work (or rasterise everything in the export dialogue).
  14. I think this is part of a paper chase leading to a preview of Affinity 2.0. The user's name MICHAELB_DE is obviously an anagram. Feeding this to my decipher programme the real meaning was BALM_DEICHE! Which means we have to search for embankments (Deiche) in Balm (town at the German coast). Personally I find this clue a bit vague. 🤔
  15. No, zooming in and out has no impact on redrawing the canvas. I also tried with HWA off.
  16. Could you upload this file zipped? And perhaps the problem is already fixed in the latest beta you can find here:
  17. I cannot open the first file, as it seems to be corrupted (or an INDD instead of IDML?). The second file (Fotobuch ...) has 13 pages with the dimensions of width 290 mm and height 145 mm, so APu opens them correctly.
  18. Welcome to the Affinity forums @pt.! As the document is exporting without a problem without the images, I would guess that one of the images is to blame. If enabling PDFLib logging delivers no result delete an image, export. If it still fails, delete another image and export again etc. pp. until the export works. Once the faulty image or faulty images are detected, upload them here (zipped) to have a look at.
  19. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Foucault! Normally APu recognizes double pages correctly. Could you upload the IDML template here?
