  1. Haven't installed the latest beta, so this might be fixed.

    1. Place a PDF linked and as Passthrough.

    2. Adjust it a bit with the Vector Crop Tool.

    3. Note that Preflight is saying "Placed PDF has image adjustments applied. The PDF will be rasterised on export.".

Result: Indeed, the output is rasterised. Erm, until now I thought the Vector Crop Tool is vector and an adjustment is something like the Vibrance Adjustment?

When the PDF is embedded and you crop it, it is not an image adjustment.

  2. To make it clear: This is nit-picking, but my eyes are always rolling, when reading "Als Paket speichern" (Save as Package). Tststs ... Germans.

First of all, a "Paket" means to me something closed, which is not true here, as the folders are open. If the "Paket" would be (automatically) zipped, then I would agree.

Second, the APu video tutorials (German) are saying here "Sammeln von Ressourcen" (Collecting resources). But we are already talking about "Sammeln" in "Ressourcen verwalten" (Resource Manager). So Serif should have an idea on consistent wording.

Third, when you finally determine the folder to save in, the button is called "Paket", which is no verb (Packen). See image.

How about "Projektdaten sammeln" (Collect project data)?

  3. Welcome to the Affinity forums @VictorBat!

Draw your first circle somewhere top left. Have it selected, then CTRL + J. Move the created copy with the Transform panel with your desired distance to the right. Then press CTRL + J four more times. Now select all horizontal circles, CTRL + J again, move the copy now vertically. Then press CTRL + J eight more times. Select everything and move the whole selection until you snap into a middle horizontal and vertical line (or do the position with the Transform panel).

  4. @Hartmut Nörenberg The spot colour is created correctly, but you applied a) to a colour image and b) applied additionally an overlay effect. Both won't work. What I did was converting the Masks.tiff into Greyscale with a Black&White profile, replaced the file you had in your document, removed the effect, applied the spot colour to the greyscale image and exported as press ready PDF.

    Attached you'll find the Masks.tiff i converted.

You do not get the PDF Options dialog when Placing a file. It is only for Opening a file.

Shame on me, yes you are correct and I changed my comment, but my question remains.

The question is whether @KK Mac was trying to Open the file by dragging it onto Affinity Photo, or whether they were trying to Place it into an existing document.

If I understand it correctly KK Mac drags the file and drops it onto the AP UI and later on he/she/it talks about opening a file.

We don't display the PDF Options dialog (import window) when you drag and drop a PDF in a document.

Why not? On the one hand it would be consistent, that opening files has the same approach everywhere. On the other hand there would be a flexible way without an extra dialogue. But perhaps it was impossible to develop consistent?
