  1. Turn off Antialiasing / Smoothing images in your PDF reader (don't know the exact term in English). Printing the PDF should give no problems
  2. Haven't installed the latest beta, so this might be fixed. 1. Place a PDF linked and as Passthrough. 2. Adjust it a bit with the Vector Crop Tool. 3. Note that Preflight is saying "Placed PDF has image adjustments applied. The PDF will be rasterised on export.". Result: Indeed, the output is rasterised. Erm, until now I thought the Vector Crop Tool is vector and an adjustment is something like the Vibrance Adjustment? When the PDF is embedded and you crop it, it is not an image adjustment.
  3. You are correct. I saw this too right now. Just one thing I would like to know: The PDF you place, are the crop marks automatically added by the creator application or made manually? If the crop marks are from the creator application select TrimBox from the Page Box dropdown in the context toolbar.
  4. Could you upload a sample PDF that looks bad after export? Something the developers might me interested in.
  5. Welcome to the Affinity forums @RoToR! a) If you finished the selection, just release the mouse button. No need for click or double-click. b) Is there any value in the Feather box when you are on the Freehand Selection Tool? Setting this to a lower value or 0 might help.
  6. Welcome to the Affinity forums @NapoleonIVBonaparte! Maybe Preferences >> Miscellaneous >> Reset Brushes could help?
  7. I am able to produce greyscale 16bit images with no profile and they do not crash AD. The missing profile to blame was my first thought.
  8. Einstellungen >> Oberfläche >> Linien in Punkt angeben den Haken rausnehmen
  9. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Namuras! For me the assets are instantly available after downloading through the application's My Account. And they are not greyed out ... they are grey/white. Just drag them to your document's canvas.
  10. To make it clear: This is nit-picking, but my eyes are always rolling, when reading "Als Paket speichern" (Save as Package). Tststs ... Germans. First of all, a "Paket" means to me something closed, which is not true here, as the folders are open. If the "Paket" would be (automatically) zipped, then I would agree. Second, the APu video tutorials (German) are saying here "Sammeln von Ressourcen" (Collecting resources). But we are already talking about "Sammeln" in "Ressourcen verwalten" (Resource Manager). So Serif should have an idea on consistent wording. Third, when you finally determine the folder to save in, the button is called "Paket", which is no verb (Packen). See image. How about "Projektdaten sammeln" (Collect project data)?
  11. File crashes for me too, but I cannot see the reason. IrfanView reports nothing special about this 16bit Greyscale. Resaving in AP or PS seems to heal the file.
  12. Welcome to the Affinity forums @VictorBat! Draw your first circle somewhere top left. Have it selected, then CTRL + J. Move the created copy with the Transform panel with your desired distance to the right. Then press CTRL + J four more times. Now select all horizontal circles, CTRL + J again, move the copy now vertically. Then press CTRL + J eight more times. Select everything and move the whole selection until you snap into a middle horizontal and vertical line (or do the position with the Transform panel).
  13. Or this for Mac: https://markzware.com/products/qxpmarkz/ Markzware should really also develop a Windows version or maybe better offer a paid service for online conversion.
  14. No, sorry. The developers have to figure it out and Old Bruce already told you the best method. I consider this to be a bug, so this thread should be moved. Are you using Mac or Windows? And could you upload the IDML for the developers to test?
  15. Usually it is not ... Working now quite a while with APu, but to me, this happened when opening PDF or IDML documents.
  16. Depending on the keyboard layout. For a German QWERTZ keyboard it has to be Windows key + .
  17. No problem. And you are right with the transparency, without a transparency it looks better. bummy.tiff
  18. I placed a TIFF and used the Contour Tool on it, which looks funny. To emphasize this, I added a outline to the image. HWA on or off makes no difference.
  20. Not necessarily. Select the greyscale image and click on the spot colour in your Swatches panel and make sure, that there is no fx applied on the image.
  21. Nothing I guess. It depends on the font itself if you are able to superscript it from Typography. But you can try from the pulldown in Position and Transform.
  22. @Hartmut Nörenberg The spot colour is created correctly, but you applied a) to a colour image and b) applied additionally an overlay effect. Both won't work. What I did was converting the Masks.tiff into Greyscale with a Black&White profile, replaced the file you had in your document, removed the effect, applied the spot colour to the greyscale image and exported as press ready PDF. Attached you'll find the Masks.tiff i converted. Masks.tiff
  23. What export preset do you use if any? Is it one honouring spot colours? This can be found, when you click the More button in the export dialogue. If this fails, could you do a screenshot of your Swatches Panel? If this fails could you upload an Affinity sample document?
  24. Shame on me, yes you are correct and I changed my comment, but my question remains. If I understand it correctly KK Mac drags the file and drops it onto the AP UI and later on he/she/it talks about opening a file.
  25. Why not? On the one hand it would be consistent, that opening files has the same approach everywhere. On the other hand there would be a flexible way without an extra dialogue. But perhaps it was impossible to develop consistent?
