  1. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Bourquin Florian! AI is a locked / proprietary format from Adobe. I guess saving as AI (if possible) would mean a lot of license fees. The Affinities can read AI, but only the PDF part of it.
  2. Why not exporting to PDF with best quality from PagePlus and opening in APu? Seems to me a faster method than copypasting every single image.
  3. Exactly. At home I have a laptop not attached to a second screen, so it would be helpful to directly click an image without minimizing the application or bringing the explorer window to the front to get access to the images.
  4. I never noticed this before, but applying a gradient on text leads to text as curves during PDF export. Is this intended? From ID I know, that the text is not converted to curves.
  5. Or uncheck the Palettised option in the More section.
  6. It is greyed out, because there is no change in comparison to the preset. Change something and you are able to create a preset.
  8. I used a command line tool from MuPDF. Interestingly I got two fonts, the one from the screenshot and a second one with "special characters" like TM, Euro, Pound, ligatures etc.
  9. Warum sollte Text in Kurven gewandelt beim Druck verloren gehen? Was die zweite Frage angeht ... sehr ungewöhnlich. Welche PDF-Export-Optionen hast du verwendet und könntest du einmal ein Beispiel-Publisher-Dokument hier hochladen?
  10. You define the colour format while creating a new document or in Document Setup. If your colour format is CMYK and if you do nothing wrong in the export dialogue you will get C78M60Y35K14.
  11. As stated from the developers: A BSOD can't be caused by an (user-mode) application, only a faulty driver, so I would check that first.
  12. As stated you'll get the Symbol inside the Designer Persona. Maybe Serif should change the feature list to explain more obviously, that you need Affinity Designer for the Designer Persona and Affinity Photo for the Photo Persona. From the help files: The Designer Persona and Photo Persona come directly from Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo, respectively. As such you need to have one or both apps purchased and installed to take advantage of that Persona. The options are unavailable otherwise. If you do not own Affinity Photo and / or Affinity Designer I would buy it / them now with 50% off.
  13. In the past days/weeks I was too often pretty sure, that I selected/did something and to my surprise the layer/something was not selected. Maybe the beginning of a serious disease on my side? 🙄
  14. Last one before I give up: Yes, one would expect to save as .afpub from Publisher, but I am editing a raster image in the Photo Persona and just want to save my changes. So wouldn't it be natural to expect to save at least as .afphoto?
  15. Welcome to the Affinity forums @Tony Othen! There is no support for footnotes right now in APu, BUT you talk about importing a PDF. In this case the footnotes should be on the correct pages.
  17. This can't be intended that I have to manually type in the filename extension? It is not or is Affinity Photo offering the filename extension .afpub or .afdesign? I mean, I am in the Photo (Im)Persona(tor) or maybe I don't get the whole StudioLink concept?
  18. No, the options were .afpub or .aftemplate. I would be fine (more or less), when it were .afphoto. Wouldn't it be a benefit if the Photo Persona would act like Affinity Photo? Isn't it the benefit of StudioLink to seldom switch to another application and do everything at one place? Just a thought.
  19. Welcome to the Affinity forums @boombee! This is a known bug and should be fixed in the next update. In the meantime export to PDF and print from your PDF reader.
  20. I fear this is currently "by 'bad' design". 1. Create a document and place a JPG linked. 2. From within APu edit the image and switch to the Photo Persona. 3. Add an adjustment like Selective Colour (not merging). 4. Close or save the tab with the edited image. 5. Now you will be asked if you want to save your changes. Click Yes. 6. Next you will be asked, whether you want to save the file flattened (because a JPG has no layers) or save as a new document. 7. Click Save as, as perhaps I don't want to be changed permanently. Result A: Your choice is only .afpub and .aftemplate. Both nothing I want, so there should the export dialogue kick in. From this point the story goes further. 8. I select .afpub as my target format and the tab with the image closes. Result B: The image I purposely edited, will not be replaced. The JPG remains at its place. I would like to see this behaviour changed. As nice as StudioLink is, I explore the limits the more I use it.
  21. Depends on what you want to do with the content from the PDF. Leave or rasterise it.
  22. I understand why you had the font customised, as the original Æ Ø Å do not fit to the rest of the font and Affinity even do not show them in the Glyph panel. https://www.behance.net/gallery/105910441/trap-typeface-100-Free-font/moodboard?moduleId=607786997
  23. Perhaps a fault with the custom typeface? Does the font work with other applications? What type of font is it? Perhaps our font expert here on the forums @LibreTraining would like to join this discussion?
