  1. So our experiences differ and we do not come to an agreement. I have PDF files here which are faster, better and easier to edit with Publisher than in Illustrator. And these files are originally made with Indesign and not with obscure software which produces somehow a PDF. Because they all use the same PDF library.
IMO a batch processing of RAW files would only make sense, when the images to be processed are nearly identical concerning lighting, sharpness etc. But it would be nice if such a batch processing feature would come in a later version.
  3. Accepted. But ... PDF was never meant to be an exchange format for editing, otherwise Adobe would have called it PDEF. Years ago I was happy that there was Pitstop, so a little editing was possible. So what Serif has made so far, is very close to the layout displayed in a PDF reader. What is lacking right now is - previously mentioned a pass through - or the ability to open e.g. .idml for opening layouts.
  4. They talked about substitution, not about editing text formatted with embedded fonts. Just personally speaking about Illustrator CS 6. If I open an "external" PDF in Illustrator with fonts I have not installed, Illustrator warns me and I have the opportunity to replace the missing fonts. In the end it is a legal matter, not all fonts are for free and the companies selling fonts won't be too enthusiastic, if their fonts will be available on people's PC who did not pay for the fonts. What we do need is passing through PDF without the possiblilty to edit them. If you still need these fonts, there are command line tools for extracting embedded fonts and if you are lucky, then the complete font is embedded and not just a part of it.
  5. What is your email client? Is in the Character panel No break checked? What happens if you paste the text via Edit -> Paste Without Format?
  6. Two options: A) Open the file or B) Place the file. I prefer to open the PDF, because I have more control over the import.
  7. This is funny. When you zoom in a bit the 2 appears. Seems to be a problem with Trimbox, all other options work.
  8. You can already make your own presets with macros and after that adding them to the Library.
  9. I have an image masked with a curve. Next I add a new pixel layer, pick the Inpainting Brush Tool, select current layer and below. I "remove" some parts and now want to merge the new pixel layer with the image masked with a curve. In the Layer panel I select both layers. From the menu Layer I select Merge Selected and the result is, that only the layer with the inpainting having the curve inside is visible, the rest of the image is missing. What is my fault? When I disable the curve I get both layers combined. Same behaviour is with Merge Down.
  10. A more personal wish: I would like to specify a source folder instead of selecting images inside a folder = one action less. And as a second wish to apply a batch to currently open images in APhoto.
  11. Actual date and time are static. Best choice here would be Saved field, at least there is the current date and time displayed, but this means it changes every time you save.
  12. Normally yes. Perhaps a wrong click somewhere ... To repair this, go to page 1, pick "Layoutseite einrichten" and change the width for all spreads (Layoutseiten). Added: Your background black goes through all 4 colours, which is IMO wrong. And why is your Colour Profile in Document Setup a Generic CMYK Profile? Is this also requested by the printing company?
  13. Your master pages have a dimension of 246 x 126 mm, whereas the document pages (Page 1 and 2) have a dimension of 248 x 126 mm. So you have to change master or document pages to the size you really want. Anyway I would recommend, that you extend the black area to fill the bleed. Can avoid errors when it comes to professional printing. HTH
  14. Yes sorry, not reading correctly here the original post, but in Publisher it is possible to have allegedly zero bleed, but the include bleed option still available during export.
  15. Just for the records: I am able to set up a document with 0 bleed, but having the include bleed option checked in the export dialogue - see images. This time the flexibility of Affinity is to blame.
  16. See my edited post David. You must have bleed enabled in your Document Setup.
  17. @GabrielM This is not the first topic, where this problem occurred. Maybe you want to consider having Include Bleed unchecked as a default setting? For a print PDF including bleed makes sense, but including bleed is checked for all presets. Sorry, haven't checked this before. This is related to the Document Setup, if there is no bleed defined, then include bleed is not available.
  18. Pick up any Pantone palette from the Swatches panel, select Delete Palette. Click Yes. Result: The palette is not deleted.
  19. Add <pattern> to the list of tags which are not supported. Quite a few, so SVG seems a bit unreliable.
  20. Sorry for the bad English title. I am talking not about the Swatches panel you can enable via View Studio. For example edit the start colour of a gradient. Change to Swatches and pick a colour. Close the popup and edit the colour again. In Swatches the colour is not highlighted. I would say no problem with clearly distinguishable colours, but with similiar colours mistakes might happen. Same problem with swatches is inside the FX e.g. Outer Shadow.
  21. Trivial, just noticed it today. When you add the transparent "fill" to a palette the name of this colour inherits the name of the palette. E.g. if the palette is called "Bunt", the transparent "colour" will also be called "Bunt".
  22. Sorry no, Publisher is DTP software and has nothing in common with e.g. Dreamweaver.
