where the heck is the text tool

cs91387 posted a topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

i just bought Affinity 1.6.1 and i'm trying to place text in my project but where in the world is the text button that is supposedly on the far left tool panel? attached is a screen shot of what i'm seeing thanks
