Thanks for the recording, I would first suggest removing that 'World Conflict' font from the font manager and rebooting. For me that font outright refused to install as it caused Windows Font Manager to freeze, and on your recording the app also froze when you hovered over it.

You can create a Template from an existing document, but not a Preset.

After you saved your new preset, click 'Create' at the bottom of the 'new' dialog. With the new document created, you can now save it as a regular Affinity document.

Once you set up the document a small square with a plus sign will appear at the top of the "new" dialogue. Click on that to save as a new preset.

Is there any update to this - I would love to replace photoshop with Affinity Photo. It does everything else photoshop does so why leave out an image browser ????  Surly the fact that there are a load of us out there ready to jump ship would make it worth implementing
I need some kind of image browser to choose my photos (RAW) to edit into final photos for my customers
Supply - demand is the basics of business so why would you not do it

I think the Welcome screen uses some components of Internet Explorer and to fix this problem I once had to reset Internet Explorer back to its default values
To try this...
Run Internet Explorer
Click the settings cog
Select Internet Options
Select the Advanced Tab
Click Reset at the bottom of the dialogue

The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in Help > About Affinity Designer).
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the Affinity Store software it will check for updates and offer any available update. The latest update will install over the top of any earlier version, with no need to uninstall. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "Download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Designer for Windows) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Windows Store purchases and needs a product key).
If you’ve purchased from the Microsoft Store— Microsoft Store updates are done automatically by the operating system (each time you start the application). If this does not happen for you, open the Windows Store app and click the three dots in the top right corner of the app and then go to Downloads and Updates. Click Get Updates. This should hopefully force the update to show.

If you mean switching to the Node Tool & dragging the last created node over the first one to close the curve, this works if another context toolbar setting is enabled, the "Snap to geometry of selected curves" button, the second one in the Node Tool's "Snap" options:

(Don't confuse this with the snapping options of the main toolbar. The Node Tool has its own set of snap options in addition to those.)

1. No, there's no auto mode in Develop Persona. The closest thing you can do is to save presets for the various tab sections.
2. No. Affinity Photo doesn't support plugins that rely on automation & custom panels/interfaces or any other  type of plugins other than basic image filters.
3. The last time I tested (with Perfectly Clear Complete 2.2.5) it wasn't working. The plugin preview was corrupted and the output was wrong (juts a solid colour filling the entire image). I haven't tested with the latest version - it's possible there may have been changes but I haven't checked yet.

Not used it all yet but I see we can now save custom page presets - That is new right I am sure we could not do that before or did I just miss it all the other times But regardless is very useful so thank you

This was already improved in Affinity 1.7 Beta. You can download the betas from the Affinity Beta Software Forums section on each app section pinned at the top.

Some updates don't affect the functions of the program but only the installer. On Windows that happened with the .135 update, which fixed some installation problems some users had with the .123 release. 
Users who had successfully installed .123 didn't need .135, and therefore weren't offered it automatically. But anyone performing a new download from either the Serif or Windows stores would get it.

This might depend on the sources you got the initial version from. For example as for Mac App Store versions the Apple store indicates and tells you that there are updated versions to download. - Other than that usually you also get infos related to this via Email from Serif, as far as you are registered on their web site. And the forum here will also tell if there are newer versions available. In order to check you have to take a look at your "Info ..." panel shown version number and compare with the latest announcements.
I believe that newer and upcoming application versions will have a build-in update mechanism in future, which will tell you then automatically that there is a newer version or update for download available!

In DrawPlus you can add the clip art that you want to use into a new document and then export it as a SVG file then open this in Designer and you can add the clip art to a new asset category as shown in the screen shot below, please make sure that the clip art image is grouped first before adding as an asset otherwise you will get the individual objects of the clip art.
