  1. I am trying to figure out how to do exactly what you describe. Would you mind explaining briefly how it is done since the solution isn't jumping out at me and most likely other's who are also new to the software? Thanks in advance for the help.
  2. Because I couldn't figure out how to do this, here is what I resorted to doing: How to manually create rounded corners in Affinity Photo On a new pixel layer, make your rectangular selection and then fill it Select the Eliptical Marquee Tool Set the cursor at the desired corner of the filled rectangular selection Drag up a circle to the size (hold down Shift to constrain the selection to a circle) until you get a representation of the corner as you would like it Select>Invert Pixel Selection (Ctrl+Shift+I) Use the Erase Brush Tool (E) to erase out the corners Even though I don't know the answer, I tried to post a helpful response, because that is what I would want others to do who have answers.
  3. Oh brother.....okay, well thanks for letting me know.....anxiously awaiting the next release.
  4. I used the Vector Brush Tool to write out some cursive. With the curve selected, I go to the Stroke Width Options and no matter how I change the Pressure, nothing happens to the stroke width. What is going on? I thought that was how I could vary the line thickness?
  5. I don't know how, but that must of been it because it is working now. Thanks for your help.
  6. I am not sure if it is user error or a bug, but I am trying to drag out a new guide from the ruler edge and nothing happens. I have View>Show Guides enabled. Does anyone know how to do this or what might be preventing it from working?

    Linear Dodge Blend Mode

I need Linear Dodge...not sure what the closest equivalent is. Does anyone know?
  8. So I can take an Affinity Photo project, send it to Affinity Designer and place text on a path, easy as you please and then send it back to AP and I have full editing support of Text on a path? This just doesn't seem right. There must be some way to do this from start to finish in Photo. What am I missing?
  9. I would like to know how to make text follow along a curved path. I know that Photoshop can do this. Is it still true that this feature is not in Affinity Photo? If it is possible, how do I do it?
  10. I don't see any way to control the rotational axis of a geometric shape in Affinity Photo. If I knew how that were possible I might be inches closer to my goal. How would one take a shape and then make it repeat in a circular pattern?
  11. The reason being is that I don't really know what I am doing Thanks for saving me steps. I appreciate it.
  12. Ahh. I see what is going on now. My original question was regarding the selection and not the shape. Thanks for the workaround... a shape and then a selection from that. I wish Affinity could just support that from a selection basis, but I am still mighty grateful that I have such a wonderful alternative to being forced to rent software from Adobe. Thanks everyone. So here is the solution from my personal notes: Q. How can I draw a perfectly constrained circle selection from the center outwards? A. Although it is not possible to do this directly with the Eliptical Marquee Tool there is a workaround: Method 1 Select the Ellipse Tool (U) Place your center point where you want it. It is helpful to drag out perpendiclar guides and turn on snapping for this. Shift+Ctrl+LMB drag out your circle to your desired size. Optional: Click Convert to Curves in the Ellipse Tool Options. Ctrl+LMB click on the Ellipse shape's icon in the Layers tab to make the selection. Create a new pixel layer. Fill the selection.
  13. Very strange. I tried Shift+Ctrl drag several times before ever posting this question and it never proved to be my solution. Here is what I see when I Shift+Ctrl drag https://d.pr/v/mGve1a (the video is .wmv so you will probably have to download it) Any idea why it doesn't work for me?
