    AP can import ABR files
You can try adding the shapes to a PSD file and opening in AP, alternatively consider buying Affinity Designer for vector work.
You can open the same PSD file in Affinity Designer and try adding those vector shapes to the Assets Panel, which is a holding place for custom made shapes.
You can download the Affinity Designer trial to see if it suits your need.
You can open PSD files, so you could add multiple shapes to a PSD and add a style to each of them, then open that PSD in AP, select the shape that has a particular style and add that style to the Styles Panel.
Please bear in mind that a lot of the style attributes in Photoshop will not be applied in Affinity, so a lot of styles will not open correctly, gradient style should be OK and some button styles will work but any style with a pattern or feature exclusive to Photoshop will not work.

Another option could be to use a focus merge, rather than a live stack group. Import your images into the focus merge and then use the clone brush tool on each layer until you have an output you are happy with. It is only rough, but I have attached a file showing how I would do this to achieve the below effect!

Hi John, you shouldn't need to change any settings in Affinity Photo—it is colour managed based off the active monitor profile (which should be the profile created by the Spyder 4 software). If you're still seeing a difference between Affinity Photo and Preview, it may be that Preview is interpreting the profile incorrectly. Have you tried previewing the exported image in another app?
Preview is famously picky about ICC profiles. For example, displayCal now changes its default settings to compensate: see https://hub.displaycal.net/forums/topic/dark-images-in-mac-photos-preview-with-displaycal-generated-profile/ and https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/271825/bug-macos-sierra-preview-quick-look-issues-with-rendering-colors-of-images-when/272115 (the second link offers a solution).
Let us know how you get on!

    Hi saikat

Unfortunately there is not currently a toggle option to change this behaviour, you can however create an additional mask on the adjustment layer as you have already mentioned. In the meantime, I'll move this thread over to our feature requests section.

    Hi Warwick Kemp,
    Welcome to the forums

You could design the pages in Designer and then use the 'Place' functionality to import your Affinity Photo images into your Designer document, and then export this as a PDF for print.
There are other programs available specifically designed for creating photo albums/scrapbooks, but unfortunately there is no direct Affinity version of this.

    Exactly so!
No specific advantage over either, although a rectangle is arguably easier to change/edit in the future, should you wish to change it. It could be used to nest an image inside for the background, and the rectangle would always ensure the image is clipped to the documents size.

That's very kind of you, thank you!

Thanks for that, I have replied with an updated file with the following changes:

I changed your fill to a rectangle, so that the slice export will select the whole document size, rather than just the bottle with a fill behind.
I then duplicated the shadow group and rectangular background 5 times and ungrouped the bottles, then grouped each bottle with it's own shadow and background, naming the groups accordingly.
Now in the export persona, you can select each group and create a slice from each separately, then export all 6 slices at once.
    Hope this helps!

    No problem at all
If you wish to keep your gradients not rasterised then I'd recommend exporting from Affinity in .SVG, opening the file in Illustrator and then saving as an EPS. This will keep your gradients non rasterised, as unfortunately our EPS export will rasterise gradients.
Of course, do let us know if you need further help!

    Hi Benedicte,
    Welcome to the forums!

I would recommend exporting your EPS file, and in the export window, open the 'More...' options. Here change 'Rasterise' to everything and uncheck 'Embed Metadata' as below:

If this does not help, could you please upload a copy of your .afdesign file? This can be direct messaged to me if you do not wish for the file to be public here and we can take a look into this for you! Do you know which program the EPS is being opened in, that is presenting this warning?

    Hi roastpost

Sorry to hear it, are you seeing any error message, or is the file simply not finishing the export until you cancel?
Do you have any additional fonts installed on your system?
If it's specific to a file, could you please upload it here so that we can take a look into it for you!

    Hi Rafaria,
    Welcome to the forums

Unfortunately we don't yet have the DAM functionality of Lightroom for Affinity, but our developers are aware of the public requests for this and although we aren't currently developing one, we may in the future!

Dan C reacted to firstdefence in Boolean operators: subtracting text layer from text layer?
Removing Text from text doesn't get the effect you expect and normally ends up with the first character being booleaned.

In the screenshot posted by catglitter, like dutchshader has said, you would have to select all of the child/sub layers in each group and Add them together, you would do this for each group, this creates a curve with the letters and you can now remove one curve from the other.

    removing text from text

    get this

    Converting the Text to curves.

    Gets this

Selecting all of the Orange Letters and choosing Geometry > Add then doing the same with the blue letters gets this

    Using Geometry Subtract

    Gets this

Dan C got a reaction from Geminitiger in Editing in AP from APPLE PHOTOS
    Hi Geminitiger!

If you open a raw file in Apple Photos, click on Edit and then in the drop-down menu select Edit in Affinity Photo, this will open the RAW file in AFP. Once you have developed the image and made your edits, save the file and close it in Affinity. This will then port the changes back to Apple Photos, where you can save the image to your library. This actually creates a new image (usually a JPEG) and displays in place of the original RAW in Apple Photos, this does not actually affect the original RAW image.
This is the main difference from opening the file outside of Apple Photos and exporting it, you still end up with 2 files, the original RAW and the edited photo, but they are not saved under the same thumbnail, as they are in Apple Photos.

This is down to personal preference. Some content creators will do very little in the develop persona, as these are all destructive edits and will instead opt to apply most changes post develop, whereas some prefer to apply macros for a similar developed look across all their images and only make minor changes outside of the develop persona. There is no right answer here as the answer is subjective to the creators personal preference, however there are certain changes that can be made in the develop persona that must be done before an image is developed, as developing an image will bound it to a colour space and clip any tones that cannot be displayed etc.

    Hi sushi,
    Welcome to the forums

I can see the AI texture file has not been grouped correctly by Affinity in this instance, and this is due to the PDF stream saved with the AI file.
I have downloaded these textures, ungrouped each texture and re-grouped them correctly for you, please find the .afdesign file attached!

    Hi Lee Sheldon,
    Welcome to the forums!

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand your issue. The UI can be toggled using the 'TAB' key, or from View > Toggle UI.
What do you mean in regards to opening an image? Using File > Open should show a Finder window, so that you can select a file, however whilst the Finder window is in focus, you cannot toggle the UI.
