    Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Jonas.
    Yes, there is. There’s a Preferences setting, labelled ‘Move Tool Aspect Constrain’ when the UI language is set to English. The default is for objects with a natural aspect ratio to maintain it without the need to use the Shift key modifier, but you can choose instead to maintain the aspect ratio by default for all objects or for none.

    Hi Ali.   Looks as though some things on your desktop may have accidentally changed.   WINDOW>Separated Mode should be unchecked.  That will give you a single workspace.   Then click on VIEW, and be sure that each of these three items are checked:  Show Context Toolbar, Show Toolbar, and Show Tools.   Hopefully, that will get your desktop back to the way it was 3 days ago.
    It is amazing how many things I managed to uncheck the first time I opened Photo, and before I realized that I had to create a new document before I could get the tools to work!!

    I don't think it is possible to set spot colour on iPad at this time, but if set on desktop the settings will be honoured in iPad when exporting.

    I did redo the project.  Inpainting barely removed the leaves and repeated process several times.  I then selected background layer and changed context tool bar to current layer and no problem removing unwanted leaves.  I guess the lesson was meant to show that multiple layers could be used to remove unwanted items; however, IMHO it worked better on single layer.  Not questioning lesson, just providing feedback.  So much to comprehend processes that will be beneficial when working on my photos.

    I did, this shows the correct list of presets which is the same on my PC here -

    I'm going to have to investigate this further with one of our developers as I'm not certain how the presets can be showing in the master but not in the adjustment window, please bare with me here!

    Hi Angelos58,
    My apologies for the delayed response to this thread. Could you please provide a copy of this file so we can take a look for you? I'd have suspected the divide command to function as Alfred did also, so I'd like to use your file to find a resolution

    That much is one of the (very few!) things I know the answer to ... I think. The answer is "no, not directly" but there is a way to do that, which I explain as best as I can below:
    You have to create one or more variables that include the "vec2(rx, ry)" expression. In the help topic, refer to the Using the filter > Variables subtopic. One of the examples sets variable "v" to vec2(rx, ry) by including var v=vec2(rx, ry) in the filter. The Examples section also uses a modified form of this variable (dividing by w snd/or h).
    To include a variable in an equation (& it must be included in each equation that uses it), the syntax is simple if not well explained. First, type the text "var" (without the quotes), then a space, then the name of the variable (like v or vignetteh), then the equal sign, then the expression for the variable (like vec2(rx, ry)/w), & finally a semicolon to denote the end of the variable definition.
    To make the variable adjustable (variable, as it were?) you can include a custom input in it. Below is a screenshot of my rather lame "MarBL" custom preset, that demonstrates how to use the custom input I named "cn" (short for count), based on the built-in Marble preset (click for a larger view):

    I did not bother to add a description to the cn input, which is why the field next to it is empty. If you want to try this, the complete equation is:
    var v=vec2(rx,ry)/(200-cn*195); (perlinsc(v,7,0.55)*vec3(0.4,0.15,0.2))+(smoothstepsc(0.4,0.5,0.5,0.6,perlinsc(v/2,5,0.6))*0.5)
    As you can see, I have expanded the Procedural texture window wide enough to show the whole thing, but that isn't practical for longer ones, or on smaller screens. As a workaround, what I have doing is copying the equation text into a text editor (for me Apple's TextEdit or the BBEdit app works well), so I don't have to constantly move the text cursor around to get to some part of it, & then pasting back into the proc texture window when I (hopefully) have an equation that will work.
    Sorry for the length of this but maybe some of you will find it marginally helpful.

    Me too unfortunately, procedural textures are somewhat over my head... AFAIK we've got plans to create tutorials for this, but they're still in the works currently!

    Hey Wolfgang Kynast,
    Could you also clarify if this crash occurs on a blank document with a pixel layer or if it only happens on an existing document. If it only happens on a document, could you attach it for us?
    Could you also clarify if this issue is new to 1.7 or if you were experiencing it in 1.6. Thanks

    I have uninstalled using the Microsoft tool, and then had to go and delete the affinity directory. After I had done this and then reinstalled again Ap 1.7 finally worked.So it looks as though the upgrade did something to the registry that was resolved by the cleanup tool. All OK now

    @Charley Parker
    Welcome to the Affinity forums.
    Serif has no record of any purchase made through any of the App Stores, either Mac or Windows, because Apple and Microsoft do not share information about purchasers with the software manufacturer.  So, your Affinity Store account will never show any record of any App Store purchase, only a record of your purchases direct from Affinity/Serif.

    In Photo: Document > resize document > 300 dpi (remember to set up pixel size) an then, when you add next photo to document just right click and "rasterize"
    In Designer and Publisher: usually document is set up to 300 dpi as default, just click "rasterize" on picture or resize picture dragging the corner to get 300 dpi value

    Dan C reacted to am-orangebox in Affinity Photo (1.7.0) gets stuck when trying to export a PDF
    I was having exactly the same issue, unable to save exported files into 'folders' after recent update of Affinity Photo and Affinity Design to version 1.7.0. Before a file could be saved (and I tried exporting file in various formats PDF, Tiff, PNG etc) message comes up asking 'Allow access to the folder to export multiple files' clicking on button option 'confirm' made no difference, file could not be saved in any folder on HD or on memory stick or separate hard drive. After trying a few things (resetting Apple permissions etc), I realised it was how I was trying to save the file.
    In Affinity Photo - Area: (changed 'whole document' to) 'Selection with Background' and was able to save in various file formats.
    In Affinity Designer - Area (changed 'whole document' to) 'Page 1' and was able to save it.
    In Affinity Designer - Area ( 'whole document' or 'Page 1') - ticked 'Don't export layers hidden by Export persona' - and was able to save may file to the selected folder.
    I hope this helps other users.
    Thank you Affinity, I am so very pleased with the Apps, finding them brilliant for web and graphic design (big improvement compared to Adobe software) .

    Just in case anyone else is looking to fix this issue, I found the problem.  Even though Photo and Designer were being uninstalled, the old Affinity directory was still present in Program Files.  After deleting the old Affinity directory, I restarted my computer, ran the installers, and everything is working fine now.
