Hi Stuart_James, Unfortunately our macro feature does not extend into the develop persona, however it has been requested previously here. As it stands, the presets are saved on a tab basis but I'd certainly recommend adding a feature request to cover all tabs with one global preset. This is a known bug which has been logged by our QA team, I'll bump the thread for our developers with this report. If you are referring to the Overlay paint tool in develop, unfortunately this can't be saved as the macro panel is only active in Photo Persona. However you can add crop presets in the Develop persona, if you select the crop tool then you have a drop down 'Mode' menu on the context toolbar. Here you can add a preset but these presets do have to be applied manually. Other than Lightroom I don't personally know of any, apologies!

Hi rainvillan, Welcome to the forums There are a few ways of doing this, but I would say the easiest way is using a live adjustment. Under Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Split Toning Adjustment You can then select a hue for the shadows and highlights, change the saturation, balance, blend mode and opacity until you are happy with the results. See this video. Another way this effect can be achieved is by using a Gradient map, as mentioned by @toltec!

Hi Valkyrie, Welcome to the forums! No problem at all, I'm sure we can help Unfortunately there's no automatic way of doing this, and the method will vary by image type and design. If possible, could you upload a sample of a PNG or PDF that you are trying to convert? That was we can help directly with your image!

PIXEL SNAP with 8x8 grid and 8x8 brush
Dan C replied to dueyvee's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
Hi dueyvee, Welcome to the forums Unfortunately there is no way to do this with an 8x8 grid and brush, as there is no snapping option for grid fill only however I believe I have a workaround for you! If you create a document and add a 1x1 pixel grid, turn snapping on with the preset of pixel work, and ensure 'Move by whole pixels' is ticked. Select the pixel tool and set it to 1 pixel in width. You can now create your pixel art as you wish above, with the brush only filling full pixels in the grid. Once you have finished the design, select Document > Resize Document. In the pop up window, check that the padlock is activated in between the two sizes and type '(pixel width)px*8' into the first size box. This will times the document size by 8, keeping the original aspect ratio. Change the resample to Nearest Neighbour and click resize. This will turn the 1x1 pixel art back to 8x8 for export. I've included a short video here of me following these steps. Hope this helps! -
Apple announce pen support for Ipad yesterday
Dan C replied to plq's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
No problem at all! Of course, keep an eye on our forums as I am certain we will announce as soon as we can regarding both Designer iPad release date and the new iPad. That's very kind of you to say -
Apple announce pen support for Ipad yesterday
Dan C replied to plq's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
Hi plq, Welcome to the forums! We are currently awaiting delivery of a machine to test and unfortunately can't provide more of an update until this time. Currently we have Designer for iPad in production and this will be released as soon as it's ready, however we haven't been given an expected release date as of yet! It will support the same input devices as Photo. I'm glad to hear it -
Hi Braja, Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately we currently only support the Apple Pencil, however I will move your thread across to our feature requests section for the developers to see

Hi Tosh.i, Welcome to the forums We aren't currently aware of any general performance/speed issues using the iPad Pro 9.7, do you have a specific issue to report?

Hi Grimofdoom! There are a few ways you could do this and the final decision will come down to your workflow and editing preferences. In my case, I selected the affected area using the selection brush and created a mask from the layers panel. I then un-clipped the mask from the image so that it was it's own layer. Now for the colour shift, under Layer > New adjustment layer > Selective colour adjustment. In the open dialog, lower the opacity slightly and then change each colour channel to produce the desired effects. I set opacity to 80% and the Reds, Yellows and Greens colour channels all to 100% Cyan, -80% Magenta & -80% Yellow. Select both the mask and Selective colour adjustment in the layers panel and group them together under the right click menu (or use CTRL/CMD + G), this will mean the colour adjustment only affects the mask area, but the mask does not hide the rest of the image. Please see my short video here to see this in action. Another option is to open the image and switch to Develop persona. Use the Overlay paint tool with a hardness of 0% to 'paint' over the area you wish your development changes to affect and then use the sliders on the right to adjust your image until you are happy with it. I lowered the exposure, raised the blackpoint and then shifted the white balance towards a cooler temperature. Once you are happy with your changes, hit develop to commit the effects. One thing to note when using the Develop persona is that the changes made are destructive to the image, unlike the masking option above. See this short video here. Of course, due to the way Affinity (and photo editing in general) works, there are other ways of creating similar effects in your image and you may find a different way works better for you

I'm not certain who the first reporter was, but I have found the issue in our development system and have effectively 'bumped' the thread by one, including this forum link You and me both! I believe the internal system uses floating-point arithmetic (which I don't mind admitting is somewhat over my head...) but essentially this means that the value will always show as rounded externally, be that to 1 or 6 decimal places, whereas the internal precision will always be as many decimal places as it requires and using your division formula will always equal 360°.

Morning firstdefence This is not a bug as such, it is a byproduct of the manual rotation degree amount being rounded in the overlay tag. As you have mentioned, if you set the rotation amount precisely in the transform the the smart duplication continues as it should, however if you have manually rotated the object the tag (and transform panel) will display to the nearest one decimal place however the rotation will not be this precise having being transformed manually and the overlay tag is kept simple to avoid screen clutter. As @carl123 has said; I am logging this directly with our developers, as I see little reason why the rotation field could not show the exact rotation amount down to 6 decimal places as with the rest of the transform panel. Precision is key!

Hi TimmCM, Welcome to the forums! You certainly can, as can be seen here: https://affinity.store/en-gb/help/ How many computers can I install a digital product on? As a private individual, you can download, install, use and run for personal use, one copy of the Serif Software directly on each computer running Microsoft Windows (“Windows Computer”) that you personally own or control. If you are referring to the Mac version then you can install the software on any personally owned Macs by logging into the App Store and downloading the software from your purchase history.

Hi Bri-Idea, Welcome to the forums As @v_kyr has mentioned, the hand tool is the default when opening the app or creating a new document and unfortunately this cannot be changed currently, you will need to manually change to your preferred method of drawing. It has however been previously requested as a feature, please see:

Thanks for that Alex_M, I have tried to replicate your issue, using both your file and by creating a new one, please see my video attached: Mask Painting.mp4 Although the preview for when painting on a mask can occasionally be slow, the painting of the mask itself is not sluggish as in your video and therefore I'm currently unable to provide an exact reason behind the issue. I will continue to investigate this internally however it may be due to an external process running on your computer at the time, it may be worth trying this from a clean boot of Windows to see if the problem persist. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

Hi Alex_M, I've tried to replicate this issue but I am not having the same results with any image other than with a rather ridiculous 38400 x 21600 (829MP) which due to it's size is to be expected. Could you please provide a screen capture of the slow response from the software, and a copy of the .afphoto file? This way we can log the issue directly with our developers.

Artboards Copy/Clone -ADesigner Desktop
Dan C replied to Uncle Mez's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Hi Arnaud Mez If you select your artboard in the layers panel and use CMD/CTRL + J to duplicate the artboard, this will copy the artboard and all of it's contents. Do note this creates the artboard in the same location as the original and will need transforming away to it's own space in the document. -
Hi mckmcg, Welcome to the forums! I can see from your second image: that the 'marching ants' selection is including some of the screw and locking nut, so that when you are pressing delete it is removing more than just the white background. Depending on a few things there are multiple ways to do this. If you only want to remove the white background from around the screw and nut, use the selection brush tool in Designer to select the white background around the images and press delete, however this will not remove the white inside the screw/nut: If you also have a copy of Affinity Photo (or are could try our 14 day free trial https://affinity.serif.com/signup/trial/photo/ ) then there is an even quicker way to achieve this, whilst removing the white within the screw/nut also. With the image loaded, select Filters > Colours > Erase White Paper. This will automatically remove any white from the image and leave you with the black outline of the screw/nut:

Hi Jdphotopdx, Welcome to the forums! I have tested this using Lightroom mobile 'Edit in' and 'Open in' functionality and it appears as though Lightroom mobile exports a JPEG to Affinity Photo (or any other application) along with the exif info and does not open the original RAW file. If you have a copy of Lightroom on desktop then you can change the external editing settings within preferences to TIFF, PSD or JPEG meaning you can transfer files from Lightroom to AP. May I ask why you are not opening the RAW file directly in Affinity Photo? Are you using the iPad or desktop version of AP? The easiest way of knowing if you have opened a RAW, is that AP will automatically begin in 'Develop Persona' and will detail the image as a RAW on the context toolbar.

User Interface - picture dimensions in pixels?
Dan C replied to Aroni's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Hi Aroni, Welcome to the forums In terms of time saving, you can press the H key to switch to the view tool to check the size, and then the H key again to switch back to your previous tool and continue your workflow. Other than this I'd recommend posting it in our Feature Requests! -
Hi Eddiemars, Welcome to the forums Could you please expand on what you are expecting to see within the file system? As far as I can see, the 'On My iPad' option show a list of the folders available, and the same should be the case with any iCloud or Drive folders, as I can replicate this on an iPad here: If you are referring to exporting the image to your camera roll, this needs to be done using the 'Share' option on the previous screen in the bottom left hand corner, selecting Share > Save Image.
