  1. Hi Shell The below tutorial will show you how to create text on a path! To convert text to curves, simply select the text in question and then choose 'convert to curves' on the context toolbar
  2. That's correct! Clearly Affinity is drawing the incorrect profile in the context toolbar when developing, but the image itself is definitely not being clipped to sRGB values
  3. Hi Barbara Morrison, Welcome to the Affinity forums These forums are designed for supporting the Affinity range of software. For support when using Craft Artist, I recommend checking out the Community Plus forums or starting a support ticket here - http://support.serif.com/Main/frmNewTicket.aspx
  4. Hi Friksel Vector Patterns are on our list of Common Feature Requests as we're aware many users would like this feature in Designer. The implementation of this should also allow Designer to export to a <pattern> element in svg , but it isn't currently possible. Apologies!
  5. Okay, no issue with the renderer. Are the drivers for your Intel HD Graphics 3000 fully updated? I'd like to try something a little less orthodox, could you please try downloading the Affinity Designer trial from the link below and installing this. Can you open images/create new documents in Designer? https://affinity.serif.com/designer/trial Secondly, have you installed and programs recently that may affect your display or rendering?
  6. Thanks for that! Did you have 'Parallel Processing' ticked in the Batch Processing panel before starting the job? We're aware of a current issue with batch processing on the Mac when Parallel Processing is selected, and this may be related. I've run the batch job 5 times on my Mac (with batch processing switched off) and I've not yet had any files skipped. Could you please try switching this option off and running the batch into a new folder? Does it miss any this time?
  7. Hi orient96 This can be done using the baseline modifier in the context toolbar, I've made a quick video below showing this! Baseline text on a curve.mp4
  8. Hi >|< One of our devs, Andy Somerfield has commented on this previously, I recommend reading through the following thread: We're aware of a bug currently that the tonal clipping overlay values are bounded to the sRBG gamut, but this does not affect the overall colour space in Develop.
  9. Hi ChrisRios, Welcome to the forums I'd recommend reading through the following threads on our forums! We like to be upfront about our software, and as R C-R has mentioned Affinity Photo can't currently do everything that Photoshop can, but it isn't designed to replicate it directly. There are many features of Affinity that either improved on Photoshops tools, or added totally new ones!
  10. Hi ksrcreative, Welcome to the forums The Polygon Tool allows you to choose how many side the shape has on the context toolbar, please see my quick GIF below! The Grid and Axis Manager can be found under the View menu, I'd recommend watching the below tutorials on grids Grids: Icon Design Grids: Floor Plans Isometric Grid Drawings: Part 1 (Single Planes) Isometric Grid Drawings: Part 2 (Multiple Planes) Isometric Grid Drawings: Part 3 (Layers and Compounds)
  11. Hi namguni Could you please provide a screenshot of your export options under 'More...'? I too am able to export the PDF using the PDF (for export) preset.
  12. Hi ArthurN Welcome to the forums I suspect the file you are opening was created in AI and exported as an EPS file, which will also store a copy of the .ai file in the EPS. When you open that in AI, you are seeing the AI file, which contains the groups and not the actual EPS file. When you open the same file in Designer, we open the EPS file which is why the items are no longer in groups. Unfortunately there's not much of a workaround here, outside of manually selecting objects to be copied to another document, my apologies.
  13. Thanks for your screenshots, unfortunately we don't currently supported embedded fonts in a PDF so you will need to install the missing fonts in your Affinity Designer before importing the PDF in. You can find out how to do this here - https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/designer/ipad/video/273647530
  14. Affinity may open the file, but it's likely that it won't be able to interpret the data correctly, so your images may look flat with no lens distortion applied, or wildly wrong (such as a totally black image). Some users convert unsupported RAW images to DNG files before importing them into Affinity, but again we can offer no guarantees this will work correctly as the RAW data remains the same.
  15. Most of the work done by Affinity is CPU bound, so we always say the more the better, but I couldn't give exact examples of which tools/features as I haven't worked on the back end of our coding, apologies. The app doesn't notify you, but you can set the renderer in the settings, so you can choose to use the onboard graphics chip, or your dedicated GPU. Certain tools & features will use the GPU more than the CPU, but you won't know which is which unless you're watching the task manager! AMD always slips my mind!
  16. The dial mode can be activated in any copy of Affinity, (Edit>Preferences>Tools>Enable Radial Controller Support), so provided that the computer supports it, so does Affinity
  17. Hi Imdur Affinity Photo automatically detects the monitor colour profile and you need to have all colour settings in preferences at their default values for the colour of images not to change in Affinity. Could you please confirm your colour settings are the same as below under Edit>Preferences>Colour? Please double check that Windows is set correctly by right clicking on the desktop, choosing display settings, advanced display settings, display adaptor properties for display 1, colour management. Here you should see the Spyder 5 Pro profile set against the monitor, is this correct?
  18. 19. Hi G822, Welcome to the forums In terms of recommended systems, our devs have mentioned before that the more cores in the CPU, and the faster the cores run, the better. Something like an Intel core i5 with 4 cores that runs at ~3.5GHz. Our app will run with less RAM, but we recommend 8GBs where possible. Equally any app will run on a hard drive but I would personally consider a high capacity SSD for boot and main applications a necessity nowadays. My personal build is currently running an i7 6700K @4Ghz, 16GB RAM @3200Mhz & a GTX 1070 and I have no issues running Affinity, however this build was designed and built with gaming in mind and is potentially nearing 'overkill' for basic editing. It's company policy that we're not allowed to recommend specific systems or hardware, as we can't be liable for any purchases made, but using the above as a guide should help!
  20. Hi Bogdan AFAIK, currently the only way to to this is by holding down the shift modifier, apologies. We're constantly working on updating and improving the UI for Surface products and hope to have a workaround for keyboard modifiers in a future update!
  21. Hi Manish, Welcome to the forums Margins can't currently be added into documents in Affinity Designer on the iPad, but we hope to implement the feature soon!
  22. Hi Dennis Kallmer, Welcome to the forums Unfortunately the TX3 isn't currently supported by the Serif Labs or Apple Core RAW engine, hopefully we will add support for this camera in the future!
  23. Hi jsmith3iii, Welcome to the forums Bluewater Publishing LLC is not associated in anyway with Serif, or Affinity. This sounds like a third party app that has not been created or maintained by ourselves. You will need to contact Mac App Store Customer Support to request a refund. You can contact them here: https://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/
  24. Hi iridescence, Welcome to the forums What model camera do your files originate from please? How are you uploading the RAW files to your iOS Photos? It's very likely that Photos is displaying an embedded JPEG, as DM1 has mentioned, hence the difference in colour.
  25. Hi jedorme Unfortunately the X-T3 isn't a supported RAW camera currently, both in Serif Labs and Apple Core, my apologies. Hopefully it will be supported in the future.
