Thanks for your files, could you please confirm what PDF options you're using at export? I've exported your .afdesign file to PDf using the PDF (for print) preset, then imported this PDF back into Affinity and the opacity has not been changed, unlike in your original PDF provided.
All of your labels are semi-transparent, is this intentional?

Hi Rick G
Thanks for your report, this has been logged with our developers previously, I'll bump the log with this thread now!

Thanks for trying and confirming that, I'll move this thread to our Feature Requests for our devs to see and consider adding this export option!

Thanks for that, I've tried your file in our new 1.7 beta and I'm not seeing any issues with opening your DNG. Could you please try installing the beta from the following link and letting me know if this fixes your issue?

Hi gbaran
Firstly, impressive work!
Thanks for your report. This is likely metadata related, please try opening the export panel, then selecting More and unticking Embed metadata. Export the image and try uploading it to Facebook, does this solve the issue?
If not, please could you provide a copy of a .afphoto file that I can try exporting in our Mac beta? I note you're using Windows in your blog posts and our Mac beta (released today!) has had the metadata engine reworked and I like to test if it's fixed this issue!

Hi DWesdorp,
Welcome to the forums

Your document is only 518px x 230px which at 300dpi equates to 44mm x 19.5mm, so exporting at this size creates a relatively small image which will appear blurry.
If you open Document Setup from the context toolbar, then input new dimensions for the document (say 5000px wide) and change the Resample option to Lanczos 3 Separable, then select Ok, your document will resize and now will create a much larger (and therefore less compressed) JPEG on export.
Please see the quick GIF below showing this process, I hope this helps!

Hi jtlapp
The texture layer that is clipped by the curve is a full pixel layer with non transparent properties (ie not a PNG/TIFF), the white that shows when your background colour is off is part of that image layer. Setting the blend mode to darken allows the colour from the background layer below to passthrough the pure white section of the pixel layer, but the white still exists and this is why you don't see the transparent background with the background layer hidden. Blend modes are essentially meaningless if no object exists below that layer (other than erase).
You can however remove the white pixels in the texture layer easily in Affinity Photo, simply select the pixel layer in the layers studio then go to Filters>Colours>Erase White Paper. You should now see the transparent background through this pixel layer using any blend mode, other than erase. I hope this helps!

@kervanoel Could you possibly provide the original RAW that was used to create the DNG you've supplied? I've tried to replicate the issue with your DNG using a sample M50 RAW and I'm having no issues on import to Affinity. The RAW can be uploaded to this link - https://www.dropbox.com/request/nO2gECq28xpuqhYLU7GE
Regarding DNG support, AFAIK we only guarantee compatibility with supported RAW formats pre conversion, but our provided list appears otherwise so I'm trying to get clarification here from a developer and will report back with any findings.

I find it odd that a file format is listed as a camera; perhaps there's room for clarification or enhancement there
Thanks for that, I'll raise this with the relevant team!

Unfortunately DNGs aren't a part of our official import list (see below), we can only guarantee compatibility for DNGs created from supported RAW files currently, apologies.

Hi kervanoel
Thanks for your report, I've downloaded your DNG and I can see the RAW originates from a Canon M50. Unfortunately this is not currently a supported RAW camera in either Serif LABS or the Apple Core RAW engine and this is why the image is not loading correctly.
Hopefully your camera will be included in the next RAW update, but I cannot provide a guarantee or timescale for this currently, my apologies.
I will also move this thread to Feature Requests as it isn't a bug within Affinity, many thanks.

Hi Christian.cgn,
Welcome to the forums

When using the Resize Document option you have to resample the objects in your document if you wish to change the overall document size, turning this option off should only allow you to change the units or DPI of the document.
If you wish to change the canvas size whilst retaining the original contents size then please use Document>Resize Canvas. This option will allow you to increase or decrease your canvas without resampling any of its contents. I hope this helps!

Hi metoymi,
Welcome to the forums

This isn't a bug as such and so I'll move this thread to our Questions section of the forums. The inpainting tool works by analysing the pixels surrounding the area where you've used the inpainting brush and copies pixel data from these areas to paint over the area you're trying to remove. This means that if the surrounding data is blurry, where you've used the inpainting tool will also be blurry, the same goes for your man and woman example, when trying to remove the man the inpainting tool will use the pixel data surrounding the area, which is the woman. Painting over the same spot multiple times with the inpainting tool is likely to cause a blurriness, as the surrounding pixels are replicated and blended multiple times. A bit like mixing multiple paint colours over and over, eventually you'll end up with the same murky brown/black (not a perfect analogy, but hopefully this makes sense!)
The below comment by R C-R provides some explanation of the inpainting tool as well as a useful link which provides a more technical description;
Unfortunately the tool isn't magic and must use local data in the image which means the inpainting tool is not always a 'fix all' solution, or necessarily the best tool. I'd recommend trying the clone tool, as this can provide cleaner and more controlled results.
-
Hi Christopher O'Toole
I can see in your screen recording that the opacity of the inpainting brush is set to 0%, hence the inpainting tool is having no effect. Please reset the opacity back to 100% and you will find the brush should work correctly!
I'm moving this thread to Questions, as it isn't a bug in the software

I'm sorry to hear this, I believe there is a patch update build due from Microsoft shortly to fix the issues created in 1809 so you may want to wait and update your version of Windows when available.

Hi emptyful,
Welcome to the forums

I'm sorry to see this, does the following fix your association issue?

Hi DLetkeman,
Welcome to the forums

I can see you have also emailed us directly regarding this, we'll have a member of our education team contact you via phone shortly.

Hi Jornerik
Thanks for the feedback, we're always looking to update and improve Affinity and we're working in part on the Develop Persona currently.
Chromatic aberration reduction can be done during the development process, or after developing. When developing an image, under the Lens tab, there is an option for Chromatic Aberration Reduction, however this may not always completely negate the Chromatic Aberration, hence we also provide a secondary adjustment post develop.
I'll move this thread to our Feature Requests and Feedback section of the forums as this is a more suitable place for this post

@WillemFritz Please see my previous response regarding the M50 and the Serif LABs RAW engine.

This would be the same process on the Desktop unfortunately. No problem at all

Hi zdenek glazer,
Welcome to the forums

I recommend checking out the below thread!

Hi marcoluna
Unfortunately this isn't possible currently, my apologies. You'll have to import each file then add the contents as assets manually. I'll move this thread to the iPad suggestions for our devs to consider in a future update!

No need to do this, part of the moderation was actually my fault as I originally moved the thread from bugs to Windows Beta bugs without thinking after seeing your screenshot, hence the comment Patrick made when it was moved back to bugs. Apologies for any inconveniences or confusion caused, your bug report is fine as is
