  1. Thanks for your report @Alex_M! I'm not seeing the same crashing here, and I have been testing this function throughout multiple files today. You can find crash reports generated on your machine by following the below FAQ - All of my testing will be completed in the latest available update (2.4.2) and we always recommend updating to the latest version. If you update to this version, does the crashing behaviour continue please?
  2. This was a decision made by the development team for V2 - unfortunately that's all the information I have to provide at this time. If you'd like to see this behaviour change, or return to the V1 behaviour, I'd recommend creating a Feedback post in the relevant section of the Forums
  3. I can confirm that the behaviour on macOS is correct. It appears as though this functionality has broken for Windows and therefore I'm logging this with our team now, to apply the same behaviour as found on macOS. According to our developers comments, the expected behaviour is as follows: If the Left Studio is hidden when placing multiple files, the Left Studio should automatically be shown, with the Place Studio active. Once you've finished placing the documents, the Place Studio should close, but the Left Studio will remain visible. I hope this helps
  4. Hi @JackattackIndustries, Welcome to the Affinity Forums & thanks for your report! I can confirm this is expected behaviour in Affinity V2, as the Hardness and Shape options are not supported for the Square brushes. In Affinity V1, the 'Shape' slider changed the brush from a Square shape to a Rectangle, which means the brush is no longer a 'Square Brush' - hence this option was disabled for V2 as a 'Square Brush' should always be square. It does appear however that this has been overlooked on iPad - as the Shape slider should not be usable for a Square Brush & Hardness should not be usable for 'non-basic' brushes, as found on Desktop. I'm getting this logged with our iPad team now. I hope this clears things up
  5. Hi @Rosel, Welcome to the Affinity Forums I've checked the Affinity Database for an account under your email address and I've not been able to locate an account at this time - however it's unclear if you already own a license for the Affinity apps, or simply wish to trial the apps on your device. If you don't yet have a license for the Affinity apps, you can try a free trial of the Affinity V2 apps from the below link, to see if they suit your workflow - https://store.serif.com/get/universal-licence-2/trial/ If you do already own a license for Affinity but are unable to locate your Affinity ID or previous purchase, please email affinity@serif.com and our team can look into this further for you. I have also included some links below for the Affinity resources, including our 'Quick Start Guide', video tutorials and online helpfile for Affinity V2: Photo - Quick Start Guide - https://affinity.serif.com/learn/photo/desktop/quickstart/ Video tutorials - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/170269-official-affinity-photo-v2-tutorials/ Online helpfile - https://affinity.help/photo2/ Designer - Quick Start Guide - https://affinity.serif.com/learn/designer/desktop/quickstart/ Video tutorials - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/170248-official-affinity-designer-v2-tutorials/ Online helpfile - https://affinity.help/designer2/ Publisher - Quick Start Guide - https://affinity.serif.com/learn/publisher/desktop/quickstart/ Video tutorials - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/170254-official-affinity-publisher-v2-tutorials/ Online helpfile - https://affinity.help/publisher2/ I hope this helps!
  6. Sorry to hear this issue has not yet been resolved @GenewalDesign! I will be sure to bump/update this issue with our development team now, to bring it to their attention once again. I hope this helps!
  7. My apologies, I had habitually quoted the V1 path and not the V2 path incorrectly - I'm glad to hear you were able to find the relevant option regardless! The issue you're experiencing usually indicates that your GPU drivers are outdated, and as I can see your device has 2 compatible GPUs, we need to ensure that both are fully updated. Please visit the manufactures link below to download the latest driver available - - Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html - Nvidia: https://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/223995/ Note: you may need to go direct to your PC manufactures website for the driver, if you see a warning regarding 'OEM drivers' when trying to install one from the above sites. Once downloaded and installed, please restart your computer and then launch the Affinity app again and try opening/creating a document. Does this resolve the crashing behaviour please?
  8. Thanks for letting me know - I can confirm this is a known issue which is logged with our development team when a pixel selection is active, I will be sure to bump/update this log with our team now to bring it to their attention once again. Unfortunately our devs don't provide any 'eta' for when specific issues will be resolved - the Affinity Info Bot will post in a thread once the issue has been resolved by our team.
  10. Thanks for the update & further file provided here @Mal_Rempen! I can confirm that I'm not seeing this crashing occur in your document on Windows - however I am able to replicate this on macOS with both Hardware Acceleration enabled/disabled. It appears to be due to the Mipmap rendering in Affinity when zooming in this specific file, therefore I'm getting this logged as a bug with our team now, using a copy of your document provided. As I understand it, the 'M' based devices have a different rendering pipeline compared to older Intel based mac devices, and therefore this likely explains why the crash doesn't occur on this device. I hope this helps
  11. This returns the Tool settings to their default values - for example with the Text Tools selected this will set the Font to Arial at 12pt etc. It will not affect your custom brushes, palettes, assets etc. I'm glad to hear this! Of course should the issue return then please let us know and we'll be happy to assist further The UI teams are different between desktop and iPad - and I suspect this was simply overlooked. I'll get this logged with the team now!
  12. No problem at all, thanks for providing this also! I'm unsure if the same issues are occurring in Publisher for you, as I can see similar conflict issues in the XML files as your Designer Shortcuts - therefore I have completed the same 'fix' for your Publisher shortcuts also and have attached this below APu 2.4 Shortcuts_RA.afshort
  13. Many thanks for confirming this information for me and for your continued patience! I believe that I have been able to resolve this issue with your Shortcut file without affecting other shortcuts - please find this attached below. I'd recommend using the Clear All Shortcuts option, then restarting the app to ensure you are starting from a clean state. ow, try loading the Shortcut file within the app and using your shortcuts. You should hopefully find the F1 shortcut works, and can be un/re-assigned, as required. I'd also recommend checking your other shortcuts, as hopefully these have not been affected in my recovery process. I'm also logging your shortcuts file with our development team for further investigation, to try and understand why this has occurred and to reduce the chance of it happening again in the future - I hope this helps AD 2.1 Shortcuts_RA.afshort
  14. Welcome to the Affinity Forums @Camue & thanks for your report! I can confirm this is a known issue with Adjustment / Live Filters on Master Pages which is currently logged with our development team. I'll be sure to bump/update this issue with our team now, in order to bring it to their attention once again. I hope this clears things up
  15. Hi @AnnieBro, Thanks for your report! As you've mentioned, our team are aware of issues with fonts within Affinity on iPadOS 17 and due to these known issues our development team currently recommend installing fonts outside of the Affinity app - either directly into the iPadOS Settings using Font 'profiles', or using a free third party Font Manager, such as iFont. I'd recommend removing the font from the Affinity app settings you have installed already, then once you have installed the font as a profile/through a font manager, you should then find this correctly appears within the Affinity app. I hope this helps
  16. Hi @APoster, Welcome to the Affinity Forums and sorry to hear you're having trouble! Please open the Affinity app and without opening a document, navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance, then provide a screenshot of your settings here for me? Many thanks in advance
  17. Thanks for your post @Don Johnson! As Alfred has mentioned above, Macros are a function of Affinity Photo only and as far as I'm aware there are no plans to introduce these into Affinity Designer at this time. However, Scripting is due to be added in a future version of Affinity, though our team hasn't provided any specific timescales for this currently. In the meantime I'll move this post to the Feedback section of the Forums, I hope this helps
  18. Welcome to the Affinity Forums @APECRE8S! I've checked your Affinity account and I can see you originally purchased Affinity V1 apps from the Microsoft Store, which is why you are unable to locate a previous purchase alongside your purchased add-ons within your Affinity account. However as outlined in the above FAQ, it's still possible to redownload the V1 apps at no additional cost, from the Microsoft Store. Please follow the steps (or link) in the above FAQ and you should find these apps in your Microsoft Store account. I hope this clears things up
  20. Thanks for your report @Tribiyani! I suspect you are experiencing the known issue outlined below - In disabling WiFi, you are stopping the macOS sync of iCloud in the background, allowing the document to load. An alternative to resolve this option without disabling WiFi is to navigate to Apple > System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders > then expand each Affinity app listed and disable 'iCloud Drive' for each entry. After restarting the Affinity apps with this option disabled, you should find the documents load as expected, without the need to disable your WiFi
  21. Many thanks for providing these files for me, it's certainly appreciated! I'll be sure to update the development log with this information / files now, as it should help our team to identify and resolve this issue
  22. Sorry to hear this @death by pixel! Do you have an active pixel selection (marching ants) in your document when you find these thumbnails are slow to update? Can you please provide a screenshot of your settings under Edit > Settings > Performance? Many thanks in advance
  23. No problem at all, I'm glad to hear this! This thread should receive an automated post from the @Affinity Info Bot once the issue has been resolved by our team, indicating which update version the fix will be included in
  24. This has been covered in previous threads of yours and is not up for discussion here. Correct, as we do with all threads here on the Affinity Forums, based on our Forum Guidelines. These are not 'discussion boards' for general conversations, these are support Forums for Affinity users who predominantly require help, advice, have feedback or need to report a bug with the Affinity apps. We don't want to quell all conversations here (both in this thread and across the forums), as we appreciate their usefulness in understanding others viewpoints and helping to improve the apps based on others experiences etc - but these posts of yours that are direct copy and paste AI transcripts or AI image prompts with results do not belong here. Thanks for your understanding.
  25. Hi @JimInFlorida, Thanks for your report! This is an issue our team are aware of and we're working to resolve ASAP. In the meantime, if you navigate to Edit > Settings > Performance and untick Hardware Acceleration, restart the app as prompted and then load your RAW file once again - you should find this artifacting no longer occurs. I hope this helps
