Hi @Martin Hoile, Welcome to the forums. Are you sure those fonts you have installed are the exact ones used in the PDF? I see the same random characters you have in the second screenshot and I don't have any of those fonts installed.

Haze Removal extension - corrupted display of raw images
Gabe replied to h_d's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
I replicate this and logged it with out developers. -
This is expected when you straighten. You are essentially rotating the image, so all your pixels will fall in between other pixels. This is essentially what's happening: Screen Recording 2021-07-01 at 08.32.20.mov

Passthrough not passing through form elements
Gabe replied to Joachim_L's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
We don't use Poppler, but PDFlib. -
That's great!

Passthrough not passing through form elements
Gabe replied to Joachim_L's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Well, that is still an interactive feature(regardless of how you created it), and not plain curves. We can't import/passthrough any interactive features, so what you see now (things missing) is expected. -
Passthrough not passing through form elements
Gabe replied to Joachim_L's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Hi all, PDF forms are not meant o be resaved/re-exported so it's expected what you see -them turning into a basic (plain) pdf. If you attach a sample file with simple elements missing, we can log that. -
Hi @Gerry_OneEyeVision, Can you try the same in the latest beta and see if it's any better? We've have plenty of performance improvements for large documents.

Opaque object placed on a page causes PDF colour issues
Gabe replied to FromTheDeep's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Apart from what thomaso has already said, there's not much you can do, as you rely on your customers to use the right tools to preview them. Not much different than supplying images with other than sRGB profiles. You rely on the 3rd party to properly display them in a colour managed way. -
This is most likely caused by some other factor and not simply by entering the equirectangular projection. Can you try it on a new file without doing anything else? Just enter and exit equirectangular projection and see if it gets blurry. If it doesn't, there's a different trigger.

Overprinting black for text - Not working
Gabe replied to Andrew Heath's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
@thomaso If you export with a PDF/X preset, then the PDF gets a colour intent which has a DeviceCMYK profile. When you export to non-PDF/X versions, the ICC profile used for the document gets added to shapes/text.It been logged with our developers as an improvement. Currently PDF export control over whether colour profiles is a single check-box, all or nothing. There maybe should be a way to include profiles for sourced images, but not for shape and text colours. However, I'm not sure why Acrobat won't show the overprint correctly. I hope this makes more sense -
Overprinting black for text - Not working
Gabe replied to Andrew Heath's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Hi all, overprint works as expected but there's a catch with Acrobat. Acrobat Object inspector will show that the overprint flag is set, but Acrobat will only preview the overprint if the colour does not have a colour profile. Use Output Preview in Acrobat, and make sure the Simulation profile is correct. If you preview Separations, then it will show without overprint. However, if you switch Preview to Colour warnings and check Show overprinting, then Acrobat does highlight the correct areas as overprinted. If you switch Preview to Object inspector, and click on an area intended to be overprinted, it will list all the colours at that point and the overprinted colour will say "Overprint=true". You will also see that the overprinted colour has a profile. -
Text + Gradient = Curves after PDF export?
Gabe replied to Joachim_L's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
Hi @Joachim_L, I've moved this to feature requests as it's not really a bug. -
Opaque object placed on a page causes PDF colour issues
Gabe replied to FromTheDeep's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Agreed, what he's trying to do is not really correct from a colour management point of view. The actual bug here is that regardless of the document colour space (CMYK or RGB), when we export, we get the following Blending Colour space: for PDF X4 we get Device CMYK (even for RGB documents) any other format that supports transparency we get sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (Even for CMYK documents) The blending colour space should be DeviceCMYK or DeviceRGB. Once that's sorted, his transparent document "should" match the one that's not transparent. We only care about the blending colour space at this point. Previewing/colour managing outside our app would be a user responsibility. -
Can you provide a sample document sowing the before and after projection? it seems to be fine here with Hardware Acceleration OFF

Opaque object placed on a page causes PDF colour issues
Gabe replied to FromTheDeep's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
It does sound fair. I'll log an improvement for this. -
Is it on the same project? Different project? Same images with different project? Try and describe what you're doing as much as possible please.

Hi @roklix, I can't replicate this here. Can you attach a screen recoding of your workflow or a sample afphoto file?

Input class profiles not available in Affinity Photo
Gabe replied to Tristan Still's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Hi @Tristan Still Welcome to the forums. What if you use the File > Import ICC profile? Does that work?
