To further increase vertical space i would prefer to have an option to hide scrollbars. (At least add this parameter in text setting file)
I just never use those scrollbars.

At least in sculpt mode we should be able close shape by drawing on top of start point. And it should be merging with curve preservation and not closing with stright line between start and end.
It is really 1 essential thing that I need from current pencil tool.

Do you think this is not important?

TextusGames reacted to James Ritson in Best Resampling Method
Hi Phil, the resampling methods are ordered by sharpness. For photographic purposes you can safely ignore Nearest Neighbour. Bilinear will produce the softest result, whereas Lanczos 3 non-separable will produce the sharpest (the difference between separable and non-separable is very slight). Bicubic is somewhere in the middle and will probably suffice for the majority of your images.

One reason to use a softer resampling method might be if your image has lots of high frequency content - from excessive noise to very fine detail like chainlink fences and difficult patterning in architecture. Using a sharper resampling method may exacerbate these parts of the image, and may even produce resampling artefacts (though they are more noticeable in video content to be honest - stills, not so much).

As always, experiment! But for a good safe bet with most of your images, try Bicubic. Hope that helps!

TextusGames reacted to davidlower8 in STILL BROKEN - Forced pixel alignment
Hey @MEB thanks for the input and to be honest I am already aware of these corrections and work flows. The fact I have to go into all the artboards and double check they are whole pixel values AND all the other layers, just highlights (for me) this is broken. Second this is not a solid or good working solution. As the video clearly highlighted at the beginning of this thread. It does not matter the positioning of the artboard, meaning the artboard could be perfect. As soon as I add text - broken pixels are introduced. Export persona will then export gaps. That is a fact.  So in that previous example those images I exported were fractured pixels and so I had to re-arrange them to solid - this had nothing to do with the artboard.
When I am in the flow of designing I am copying, duplicating, resizing, repositioning - repeatidly. Having to constantly watch layers for fractured pixels is completely non-sensical. When I am done I want to be able to export slices. Since I am nearly always working with text to some level, ALL my slices will come out with extra white space. Even the snapping tool will align to fractured pixels introducing further fractured pixels to an otherwise solid pixel layer.
Your answer, for me, just clearly shows this work flow is broken. It is like yeast. As soon as a fractured pixel is introduced it gets into everything. I don't want to have to monitor for fractured pixels, it is a ridiculous workflow.
Forgive me if I am being tardy. I am just so frustrated and disappointed. I do NOT want to leave this product but I cannot keep checking layers and artboards for x-axis, y-axis, width and height values - making sure they are all solid pixels. Completely ridiculous.

If you take a document with 3 objects

and hide one layer in the Export Persona

If you output with "Don't export layers hidden by Export persona" ticked"

    You get this when exported.

If "Don't export layers hidden by Export persona" is unticked

    You get this

Even if it is hidden in the layers panel.

Basically, if unticked, it ignores the fact you hid the layer in the layers panel and outputs it anyway.

A bit like telling a child "don't touch that". They will anyway

P.S. This has absolutely nothing to do with slices, even although it is in the Export Persona.

    Hi Max N,
This is a known issue with development. The only thing I can suggest is that you use Align Centre, double your stroke size and set then the stroke behind the fill. I'll get the issue bumped with them.

Sorry both for the delay in responding. I was under the impression that sculpt allowed you to close a curve, however I was wrong. So there is nothing wrong with your beta.

However I will pass it on to development as an improvement.

TextusGames reacted to GRAFKOM in A special award to build 1.7.0.258
When it comes to snapping, I've just discovered that snapping objects and slides works if we create a new project in 1.7.0.258. But it will not work if in 1.7.0.258 we open a file created in earlier versions of Beta.
That's why today I was so tired when making changes to the file with the leaflet made a month ago.
I have repeatedly suggested what should be changed or added to Affinity so that the program meets the basic tasks for smooth and trouble-free work before adding thousands of new products.
If now, at the beginning of the creation of this program, it will not be added, I do not think it has ever been added.
Yesterday I read somewhere on the forum post from 2016 that Serif reads all the suggestions and requests but enter but they can not enter it because it has its own guidelines. So I'll probably look at this forum again in about 3 years. Maybe something will change in this matter.
I run an advertising company and use Affinity programs to work throughout the day. it is not a fun program after dinner for relaxation or painting in the evening. I need a stable program. I have been working on CorelDraw on all its versions for 26 years. Now the new CorelDraw 2019 has been released. It is much, much more expensive than Affinity. I would like to pay the money to Serif very much, but the pace of development is so slow that I would have to close the company to see the full version of 1.7 then 1.8, maybe even 1.9 to 2.0. At this rate, maybe in three years. Yes I know, CorelDraw is 30 years old and Affinity 5 years, but from five it is still 1.0 version ...

To speed up the export of selected items, Affinity should automatically select the Selection without background option.
In 99%, if I have selected objects to export it with the intention of just exporting those objects.
And now, every time I have to manually select the Selection without ... option or at least the program should remember the last selected option.

It would be very useful to have functions to select the same:

Color fill stroke (color / width) Appearance To quickly select all your outlines, or background element in 1 color.
    Speed is everything.  :)

I think it would be really useful to have a swap symbols function in Designer. I have a project that as usual, I give my employer multiple versions of a design. If I could swap out the symibols to give a new version of the design would save a ton of time.

    Hello!
Has been discussed, I know, but scattered all over the place.

With the Node Tool, it should be possible to delete nodes in these variants:
    - Without adapting the neighbouring  tangents - that's the existing behavior. Shortcut could be: left-doubleclick (besides DEL)
    - With adapting the neighbouring tangets, so that the curvature is preserved as good as possible (CorelDraw can do this). Possible shortcut: CTRL-left-doubleclick
    - With also deleting the neighbouring curve segments. Possible shortcut: CTRL-ALT-left-doubleclick.

    Regarding shortcuts:
Choose any combination of mouse pointer and modifier keys you like for node editing, but avoid having to use DEL or other keys wich are harder to reach.
    Thanks for considering!!
    Best regards

TextusGames reacted to walt.farrell in [Solved] Option to disable returning to previous tool than pressing on tool key second time. [There is already such option]
Such an option exists in the 1.7 beta versions of the Affinity applications:

When that option is enabled, you need to use the Shift key to cycle among tools that have a common shortcut key, and when you have a tool selected, and press its shortcut key again, you remain on that tool.
